Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword
Chapter 130: Second Summoning
The van finally entered in the Residential Megazones in the Verdant Ring. The Residential Megazones consisted of seven different district. It was separated based on occupation, social contribution, and security clearance.
Unlike rigid caste systems, each residence from different districts was earned through achievement, service, education, and military distinction. The hierarchy was in other words merit-oriented rather than purely hereditary.
Doctor Ella’s residance was located in the Aureline District, also known as the Physician’s Garden. It was the most prestigious civilian residential district in the Verdant Ring.
It primarily housed senior doctors, researchers, medical executives, and National Beast Medical Council personnel.
Although the Physician’s Garden seemed a bit far from the Grand Medical Ring because of the Scholar’s Ring, the placement was rather complex, making it actually closer to the Grand Medical Ring.
Because of the presence of the Medical-Scholar Transit Corridor, a secured urban passage connecting the Grand Medical Ring, Scholar’s Ring, and the Aureline District, every doctors from their residence was more closer to the Grand Medical Ring.
It allowed physicians and researchers rapid secured access to the Grand Medical Ring without passing through standard civilian transit routes.
It even became more easier with the appearance of the skyrail system.
Furthermore, the doctors couldn’t have a residence in the Grand Medical Ring. The civilians needed someone to take care of them.
The Grand Medical Ring only housed the nation’s greatest hospitals and medical institutions. It primarily functioned as a national medical authority zone, advanced treatment center, and high-security research sector rather than a conventional public healthcare district.
Hence, it was only rare for civilians to enter it directly.
They only received treatment through regional hospitals, district recovery centers, and Verdant Ring healthcare facilities, which was distributed across the residential megazones.
Entering the Aureline District with their van, the conversation drifted to the Clark City’s rapid development and breathtaking view outside.
Mia stared at the train moving at the sky, striking her with awe.
She wondered why they weren’t taking the train instead, as it appeared to move faster than the van despite the road was clear.
Thankfully, Krisha asked on her stead, "Isn’t it more easier to take the train rather than riding the van?"
Doctor Ella giggled. "We aren’t in a hurry, dear. We’ll miss the breathtaking view of the Clark City up close if we take the train. There’s also no private room inside the train, unless you are a prestigious individual.
Also, my driver could drive faster than this, but I asked him to go slow, just enough for us not to miss even a single leaf outside."
Doctor Eleanor chuckled. Krisha smiled in response.
Felix tugged his elbow on her. "Just trust the tour guide."
Krisha glanced at him and rolled her eyes after receiving a wink from him.
She then focused at the scenery outside. After a while, she was continued to be amazed until she admitted that the Clark City was more advanced than the Chambers City by a large margin.
She thought. Is this the advantage of being the oldest city of the humanity?
It wasn’t her who thought the same, the others as well, especially Felix.
Guide herself applauded how aesthetic the scenery was.
Suddenly, Doctor Eleanor turned towards Master Shen and asked, "How is Clark City compared to Miller City?"
Miller City was the military-industrial stronghold among the three S-Grade Cities. Master Shen had the opportunity to study under a Marshal for a year before deciding to return to Chambers City and establish his dojo.
Master Shen pondered for a while and said, "It’s refreshing here."
Doctor Eleanor nodded.
She said, "I haven’t been in the Miller City, but everyone knows how solemn the atmosphere there."
"Mhm." Master Shen nodded. "It’s called Humanity’s Central War Fortress for a reason."
Felix listened and couldn’t help but look forward to visit the Miller City. In fact, he had a strong desire in the past to study in the military there. The city was very advanced when it came to the warfare, strategic defense, industrial armament, and frontline domination.
It was inevitable. Historically based, the Miller City was originated as a fortified military colony established near humanity’s most dangerous frontier regions—the northern region.
Its purpose was not for expansion but containment.
During the reconstruction era, repeated calamity-beast invasions devastated surrounding settlements. Conventional defenses proved insufficient, leading to the creation of a permanent military-industrial bastion.
Hence, over the centuries, the settlement evolved into "Humanity’s Central War Fortress." Its growth was driven by constant frontier warfare, large-scale industrialization, and weapons development.
Felix was lost in thought about Miller City, but his consciousness returned to reality as his mind finally registered that he was seeing the black obsidian obelisk through the window.
Krisha was also gazing at it.
Doctor Ella said, "You still haven’t had your second summoning, right?
Every friday, the Black Obsidian Obelisk is open for everyone who wants to have their summoning. I think it’s best for you two to have your summoning on Friday. I believe there’s no important matters such as this on that day."
Felix and Krisha glanced at each other.
They turned towards Doctor Ella and Felix said, "We’ll be having our second summoning that day, then. Thank you, Doctor Ella. I hope you’ll accompany us, our tourist guide."
Doctor Ella giggled and nodded.
After an hour of traveling, the van finally turned and entered to the gate that was opened by a gardener, who was tending the garden earlier.
He beamed a smile at them and Doctor Ella had the driver to open the window to greet them.
Doctor Ella then invited the gardener to have a lunch together in an hour.
Felix and others had already eaten their breakfast in the Obsidian Wing earlier.
The van entered the garage. Surprisingly, Doctor Ella only has a single vehicle and that was van. Thankfully, she bought a type of vehicle where it could accommodate more than ten individuals.
Doctor Ella then guided them to the living room, which was actually a wide hall. There was a long tables, projective interfaces, and more that seemed to convey it was more than a living room...
