Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die! - Chapter 2042: A Cry for Help from an Outer Zone Player
The environment is important, but what ultimately decides a person’s limits is always themselves.
But meeting with Hua Han Werna wasn’t completely without gain.
At least it’s certain that people from Zone 011 probably won’t bother him because of this matter in the short term.
As for Temporal Evolution, he described it in terms of the state of water and rain.
Xu Huo got up and walked to the bedside, gazing out at the heavy night, placing the "Open Umbrella Will Bring Rain" on the balcony.
Raindrops gradually began to fall from the night sky, and the drizzle quickly wetted the ground.
It wasn’t the first prop he got that could connect to other spaces. The difference was that "Open Umbrella Will Bring Rain" connects to a space where it is raining nearby. The intensity of the rain is random, but once the umbrella is opened, it will surely rain. From the state it seems somewhat like Hua Han Werna’s description of introducing Time Force from other spaces.
He moved a chair and sat on the balcony to watch the rain.
Because the connected spaces differ, one rain would stop only to be immediately followed by another, although two of them midway contained micro-toxins, forcing him to close the umbrella and reopen it.
He had to change it a few times before avoiding the tragedy of poisoning all the plants in the garden.
The rain varied in intensity, and in the latter half of the night, it was nearly a torrential downpour. Xu Huo closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep to the sound of the rain.
Before dawn, a group of people suddenly entered the castle grounds. The one being pursued was an injured Player; using a Levitation Prop, he barely kept the rain off, almost frantically crawling over the rose wall into the front yard. He ran towards the castle gates while looking back at the dense silhouettes closing in through the storm.
His pursuers were a team of Bai Jianzhang. Seeing him enter the castle, the leader immediately released a capture prop designed to forcibly drag him out.
The injured Player stumbled back into the rose wall for two seconds under the prop’s effect. Using a substitute prop, he barely disentangled himself from the thorny branches, then shouted towards the castle, "Mr. Xu, help me! Mr. Xu, help me!"
The Bai Jianzhang members’ expressions changed, and before they could act, the pouring rain suddenly stopped and lights came on in the castle’s porch. Someone walked out—Mr. Dong. He looked toward the rose wall and pointed at the watch in his hand from a distance.
People from the castle had appeared; the Bai Jianzhang hadn’t dared to enter before, and now they didn’t dare even more, only able to watch as the injured Player crawled toward the porch.
"Sorry to intrude. The person who escaped in is a prisoner Bai Jianzhang wants to catch. Please, Mr. Dong, let him out," the leading captain said.
The distance was a bit far, but it didn’t stop those inside from hearing. Mr. Dong didn’t respond, instead making a slight nod towards the side from the porch.
Only then did the outside team of Bai Jianzhang see clearly that a person was sitting on the opposite second-floor balcony. Blending into the darkness, he only revealed his form upon sensing their gaze.
The injured Player stopped at the front door, looking up at the man and directly kneeling, "Mr. Xu, I’m also a Player from the Outer Zone. I brought my younger siblings to settle in Zone 011 for them to live in a safer environment. But I didn’t expect Zone 011 wouldn’t see us as human. My sister worked part-time and was inexplicably killed, while my brother went missing following Bai Jianzhang for the truth! I only learned of this incident from the letter he left after returning from an instance, which took a long investigation to discover that my sister was sacrificed as a cult offering..."
The man heavily knocked his head on the ground, "I haven’t found my brother, but cases like mine are numerous. My actions weren’t careful enough, and Bai Jianzhang targeted me; they’re here to kill me to cover it up!"
"Please help me! You’re well-known in Zone 011, and many of us foreign Players know you’re not local. I had no other choice but to break into the Rose Castle. I want to find my brother, dead or alive, with closure! And I want those who trample on lives to pay! Only you can help me!"
No one interrupted as the man spoke, and he rationally explained the cause and effect as quickly as possible, striving for any goodwill.
Semi-reclining in his chair, Xu Huo finally raised his head, looking at the Bai Jianzhang outside the castle, "Is what he said true?"
The team lead of Bai Jianzhang was Bran.
This man wasn’t very famous, but Xu Huo had seen him once at the Game Government Base when delivering something to the Enforcement Department. Bran was a Bai Jianzhang captain and had tried to forcibly take supplies then, stopped by Ran Ying from the Black Epaulette.
Bran clearly recognized Xu Huo, gritting his teeth secretly, "This is the Enforcement Department’s affair..."
"Is it true?" Xu Huo asked again, and this time Bran unconsciously blurted out, "Yes..."
"No!" He suddenly regained his senses, looking up in shock at the person, and then said sternly, "Don’t think because you’re a guest of the Werna Household, you can interfere with the Enforcement Department’s cases. Do you want to oppose Zone 011?"
"You’re overstating it." Xu Huo stood and walked to the edge of the balcony, "Matters of your Enforcement Department should, of course, be resolved by you. But I remember that the laws in Zone 011 expressly state that the Enforcement Department’s cases are subject to oversight from all sectors, presumably to prevent the excessive swelling of Players’ rights."
"Being of noble birth, aside from the Enforcement Department, you’re representing a faction of the Nobles. Do you speak for them all?"
Of course not, but Bran personally leading a chase was to eliminate the incident completely, "This Player invaded a confidential Enforcement Department area and assassinated an Enforcement Department member; his capture is lawful and compliant. Regardless of his prior situation, he violated Zone 011’s laws and disturbed the subdivision’s order, warranting his capture."
"I respect Zone 011’s laws." Xu Huo gestured for Mr. Dong to open the door.
Mr. Dong obliged, and the Player still kneeling on the ground reluctantly averted his gaze, preparing to escape once more.
"Don’t you have Tickets?" Xu Huo suddenly looked down at him.
The other, unsure of his stance, whispered, "I’m afraid that when I return next, everything will have been covered up by them!"
"Go." Xu Huo withdrew his gaze.
The man hesitated briefly but eventually took out his Tickets, and the Bai Jianzhang arriving later fumed as they saw him disappear. Bran looked furiously at Xu Huo on the balcony, "You dare let him go!"
Xu Huo raised an eyebrow slightly, "He is a Player."
With Players having Tickets, who can keep them locked in?
Staring at the opponent’s furious face, he added lightly, "Or do you wish to do something to me, another new informant?"
Bran slowly suppressed his anger, backed up two steps, and glared at him, "Intervening in Zone 011’s internal affairs—hope you won’t regret it."
He left with his men after finishing speaking, waving his sleeve.
"Regret?" Xu Huo looked at the sliver of light at the horizon, "What does this have to do with me? I’m merely a passerby."
