Chapter 50: Let’s Invite Many More People

A fairly quiet Saturday.

Reva gave a small wave toward Kai and Risa who walked away hand in hand. Her sweet smile still lingered on her lips, but once they disappeared around the corner, that expression turned into a small, meaningful grin.

"Hehehe~ you two are so cute," she murmured softly while twirling the house key around her finger. Instead of heading home, she stepped in the opposite direction, toward Maurice Ferré Park, which wasn’t too far away.

The evening breeze was still gentle. Reva walked along the sidewalk with light steps, the shopping bag swinging slowly in her hand. A few passersby glanced at her, but she didn’t care. Her mind was already on someone waiting at the park.

Arriving at the park, Reva immediately spotted that figure.

Ren sat alone on one of the wooden benches facing the water. His neat black hair, almost perfect handsome face, and calm aura like a prince from a fairy tale made several people steal glances. A mother with a young child even stopped for a moment, whispering something while smiling. Ren seemed unaware, his eyes staring at the calm water surface.

Reva approached silently, then suddenly sat beside him. Without asking, she took the drink bottle in Ren’s hand and took a casual sip.

"Ahh~ so cold. You always pick the best, don’t you, Ren."

Ren turned his head slowly. His face was flat, but the corner of his lips lifted slightly. "You came. I thought you were still busy messing with your ’toys’."

Reva laughed softly, leaning back. "Kai and Risa? They just had a little ’date’. It’s so funny seeing Risa pout whenever I get close to her brother. Like a cat with its fur standing up."

Ren only sighed softly. "You enjoy playing games too much."

"Hahah~ I love watching their siblings moment after all... it’s different from original like. Risa’s route is almost completely sealed off now, hahaha~ Ryan worked pretty fast." Reva handed the drink bottle back to Ren. "Are you jealous? Because your last choice of the capture target before is her."

Ren stared at Reva with a flat look. "I told you earlier, don’t bring too many ’outsiders’ into this world. One "Ryan" is already troublesome enough."

Reva just giggled, covering her mouth with the back of her hand like a proper lady. "Relax. I haven’t killed anyone, okay. Mimi is still alive in her original world. I just... moved little part of her to this world. A different method from when I’m moved Ryan. The Side effect? Her memories of her past life are completely gone. She’s now just an ordinary girl from an ordinary family living in Miami. Though... there’s a little chance she would regain her memories back."

Ren frowned slightly. "You sure about that."

"Well is not about sure or unsure when I am doing my things." Reva smiled widely, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "You know, Ryan will definitely be thrilled to meet his sister again. Imagine, he’s been trying so hard to befriend all the ’capture targets’, and suddenly he runs into Mimi. It’ll be hilarious."

Ren was silent for a moment, staring at the water surface again. "You really never get bored of playing with people."

"Because life is boring without drama." Reva leaned her head on Ren’s shoulder for a moment, before Ren pulled away with a disgusted expression. Reva just laughed. "If you want, Mimi could be your ’secret capture target’. For free. Consider it a bonus from me."

"Not interested," Ren replied flatly. "I’m more curious about what Ryan is doing right now."

Reva shrugged. "No idea. Maybe he’s continuing his date with Risa. Hehehe~ you know I’m curious how you’ll eventually open Risa’s route again."

Ren smiled faintly. "Love is easy to get, Reva. If I wanted, I could take it all. The hearts of Risa, Chloe, Daisy, Lily... even Mimi. Because in the end, I’m the destined one."

Reva stared at Ren with a widening smile, almost like a wolf eyeing its prey. "Ryan would definitely turn those words back on you, you know? He’s not the type who likes to lose. Especially now that he’s become a more... greedy ’Kai’."

Ren snorted softly. "If your chosen one fails, what will you do?"

Reva stood up, smoothing her slightly wrinkled skirt. She looked back, her smile still sweet, but her eyes were cold.

"Of course I’ll throw Ryan away. Replace him with a more interesting new actor. But for now..." Reva winked one eye, "I’m sure he’s the right choice. He’s trying hard, and that’s entertaining to watch."

Ren didn’t answer. He only stared at Reva’s back as she walked away with light steps. The evening breeze blew through his hair. For a moment, his handsome face looked a little tired.

Ren repeated his own words in his mind. A faint smile appeared on his lips.

Maybe. But Ryan... or Kai... that guy will definitely make everything complicated.

Ren got up from the bench, stuffing his hands into his jacket pockets. He walked away from the park following Reva’s direction, his charming prince aura still making passersby glance at him. But inside his heart, there was a little curiosity.

What will Kai do tomorrow?

Ren arrived home in the late afternoon after few hour after Reva enter the house. He opened the door and was immediately greeted by the aroma of cooking. Reva was already in the kitchen, wearing an apron while stirring something in a pan.

"You’re really fast...," Ren said flatly while taking off his shoes.

Reva turned around, smiling sweetly. "You know, I’d say it before but I lean toward you. Even though I enjoy watching Ryan try so hard."

Ren just sighed. He sat at the dining table, staring at Reva’s back as she busied herself cooking.

"Don’t bring Mimi too close to Kai just yet," Ren said softly. "Let him focus on the others first."

Reva laughed softly. "Are you jealous?"

"No. I just don’t want this game to end too quickly."

Reva turned off the stove, then walked closer. She stood behind Ren, hugging him from behind while resting her chin on his shoulder.

"Relax, Ren. Everything is still a long way off. Ryan will try, you will try... and I’ll enjoy it all. But I can’t guarantee if Ryan happens to meet Mimi on the street~ the world is small, after all."

Ren was silent. He stared ahead, his thoughts wandering somewhere else.

Kai... what are you doing right now?

Elsewhere, on the same day, Kai was walking home with Risa. He didn’t know that tomorrow, in Wynwood, he might meet someone who looked very much like his sister from his previous life.

And Reva, in the kitchen, smiled to herself while stirring the soup.

"Everything is just beginning for the second year’s preparations~"
