Chapter 192: Another one
"That’s right." Rover said indifferently: "So I want to confirm once more. Do you truly accept becoming a member of room 2705?"
Rilia didn’t immediately answer.
Morie stood beside her watching, her gaze calm. Elith was even simpler; as long as Rilia showed any signs of resistance, the spider silk would immediately tighten. Nanoe hadn’t yet come out of the bedroom, but the energy she had left inside Rilia’s body earlier was still like an invisible hand, quietly gripping the deepest part of her life.
Rilia understood her situation very clearly.
But she also understood clearly that Rover’s question wasn’t merely a confirmation of surrender.
He was confirming her value and her danger level.
Rover looked at Rilia, his voice not heavy, but very clear.
"I don’t like keeping a bomb beside me. You are very strong. You have intelligence. You have pride. And moreover, you were the Boss of this round. These things make you valuable, but they also make you dangerous."
Rilia coldly said: "If you’re afraid, you can kill me."
Sunako, who had been kneading Rover’s shoulders, immediately sucked in a breath.
She looked at Rilia with the eyes of someone looking at a madperson.
Sister, you’re in a monster’s den right now. This line sounds very spirited, but are you sure you want to say it?
Rover, however, didn’t get angry.
He only smiled.
"I’m not afraid of you. I just hate trouble."
Rilia fell silent.
Rover continued: "In room 2705, Tenants aren’t only subordinates. Once you become a true member of this room, you must stand on the same side as me. And there’s one thing I’m saying upfront, so you can’t pretend you didn’t understand later."
He leaned slightly forward.
Rilia’s gaze slightly shifted.
Rover looked directly at her, speaking very naturally:
"After becoming a Tenant of this room, you will also become my woman."
The atmosphere in the room suddenly went quiet.
Monica slightly lowered her head, her face flushing a little.
Morie didn’t react too strongly, only calmly looking at Rilia.
Elith slightly raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Sunako’s eyes went wide, her expression as if she had just heard a completely new rule of survival.
She looked at Rover, then at Rilia, then at Monica, Morie, and Elith. Finally, she quietly tightened her hands on Rover’s shoulders, internally beginning to calculate whether the position of "talking accessory" in this system was actually safe or not.
Rilia looked at Rover for a long time.
In her eyes there was no embarrassment like Monica.
No teasing like Selina.
Even less the dangerously gentle quality of Nanoe.
She was only evaluating Rover the way a general evaluates terms of surrender.
"Is this your demand?"
"Yes."
"Can I refuse?"
"Yes."
Rover said very calmly.
"After that you can choose to die."
Rilia laughed coldly.
"How fair."
"I’m always very fair."
Sunako behind him quietly looked at Rover.
She felt this sentence somehow sounded very believable, but also very frightening.
Rilia lowered her eyes, not knowing what she was thinking.
She wasn’t afraid of dying.
From the moment she was captured, she had prepared herself for death. But Nanoe had been right about one thing. Dying solved nothing. Once dead, she would only be a corpse. Her army had been eliminated. The world she came from had likely lost its path back. If she died here, everything would end in silence.
Living was different.
Living meant she could observe.
Could wait.
Could find an opportunity to understand this world.
Could come to know why the Ice Wolf Tribe had been pulled into the round, why she had become a Boss, and whether after all of this, there was still any other path available to her.
Once dead, nothing could be done.
Rilia raised her head.
Her azure blue eyes were still cold, but a decision had been made within.
"I accept."
Monica slightly raised her head.
Sunako nearly cried out, but sensing Elith’s gaze, she immediately shut her mouth.
Rover looked at Rilia.
"Are you certain?"
Rilia coldly replied: "I don’t like repeating what I’ve already said."
"Very good."
Rover leaned back against the sofa, his gaze remaining on Rilia for a few more seconds, then he smiled.
"Then from now on, you are a member of room 2705."
Rilia said nothing.
But the spider silk around her wrists trembled slightly, as if she wanted to clench her hands into fists. In the end, she didn’t do it.
Rover looked toward Elith.
"Loosen it a bit. Don’t let her die, but don’t release her completely either."
Elith nodded.
The spider silk on Rilia’s body slowly loosened by a few degrees, enough that she was no longer being constricted painfully, but absolute control was still maintained.
Rilia looked at her own wrists, then looked at Rover again.
"You’re not afraid I’ll betray you?"
Rover smiled.
"You can try."
Rilia fell silent.
This answer was more frightening than any threat.
Because Rover said it very casually, as if he truly didn’t care whether she tried or not. That meant either he was too foolish, or he had enough confidence to handle the consequences.
Looking at this room, Rilia didn’t think he belonged to the first type.
Sunako behind Rover at this moment quietly took a deep breath.
She had just learned another new rule.
In room 2705, it was best not to ask questions like "aren’t you afraid I’ll betray you?" Because the answer was very likely to be "go ahead and try," and after trying, the result would certainly be nothing good.
Rover wasn’t thinking anything so complicated.
He looked at Rilia, internally beginning to calculate her value.
A living Ice Wolf General with intelligence, command experience, combat capability, and who could become a Tenant. If properly managed, she would certainly be an extremely useful combat force.
Moreover her appearance wasn’t bad either.
White hair, blue eyes, cold demeanor, the identity of a defeated female general.
Very high value.
Rover felt today was genuinely a day of great harvest.
Not only Omni Points, attribute points, a Legendary Supply Crate, an Eternal Heart, Nanami’s resurrection, but also an Ice Wolf General added to the mix.
If every round could yield a harvest like this, he wouldn’t even mind if the rounds got a bit more dangerous.
Of course, just a bit.
Too dangerous was unacceptable.
Rover still valued his own life very much.
Sunako, seeing that Rover seemed satisfied, carefully asked:
"Great Lord Rover, what about me?"
Rover glanced at her.
"What about you?"
"Am I also a member of room 2705?"
Rover was silent for a moment.
Then he looked at the maid outfit on her body, then looked at her two hands still placed on his shoulders.
"You are temporarily a backup maid."
Sunako immediately brightened.
"Is there a permanent position?"
"No."
"Is there a salary?"
"No."
"Can I avoid being hung on the wall?"
"Depends on performance."
Sunako thought seriously for a moment, then nodded.
"I accept."
Rover: "..."
He didn’t understand why he had somehow ended up with such a bizarre backup maid.
Elith coldly looked at Sunako.
Thunder Dragon let out a soft sound.
Krit.
Sunako immediately bowed her head.
"Of course, I will always remember the greatness of Great Lord Thunder Dragon."
Thunder Dragon closed its eyes in satisfaction. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Rover looked at the scene, and in the end could only shake his head.
Room 2705 was becoming more and more lively.
And stranger and stranger with each passing day.
