I Was Not Meant To Exist

The sound of glass hooves striking echoed through the red corridor, the queen urging her glass horse as fast as she could.

Her blue eyes were fixed on the light from the hall at the end of the corridor. Her gaze looked cold, she held tightly onto her glass horse, and without realizing it she bit her own lip.

A gust of wind struck the queen as she rode her glass horse, the wind coming from the hall she was heading toward, but it was not like usual—it carried warmth and cold at the same time.

The queen’s hair stood on end as she felt it, and from that hall emerged a golden light and black mist.

The queen swallowed, her previously empty mind now beginning to think of something strange.

"A clash of holy energy and demonic energy?"

After a while, the queen and her glass horse reached the end of the corridor. The sound of the horse’s hooves stopped, her blue eyes widened when she saw something that should not be there.

There, Alex was exchanging blows with Envy. From Alex’s fists and body came golden dust accompanied by light, and from Envy’s fists came cold black mist.

The queen’s eyes kept observing Alex’s entire body that emitted golden light and particles, her expression showing shock.

"What is that?! That is holy energy."

The queen kept watching Alex who was fighting, she saw Alex’s movements were strange, as if he could not control his own body.

One of the queen’s eyebrows rose, she massaged her forehead, her whispering voice could be heard.

"He cannot control the pull of that holy energy..."

The queen continued to watch Alex whose body kept attacking Envy as if it was excited, even though his expression said otherwise.

A shout from a familiar voice shifted the queen’s attention.

"Mother!!"

The queen turned toward the source of the voice, there Katarina was sitting beside Reva who was unconscious, Ken and Aril were not far from her.

The queen wanted to approach Katarina, but Alex was suddenly thrown right in front of her.

He was flung far when Envy attacked him, the queen shifted her gaze toward Envy who was now covered in black mist.

She clicked her tongue and immediately created a glass wall that split the hall into two parts.

She was on one side of the hall with Envy, while Alex and Katarina along with the others were behind the queen’s glass wall.

The queen shouted to Katarina.

"Rina! Check Alex’s condition!"

Alex who also heard what the queen shouted slowly got up, his wounds had reopened, he gritted his teeth, his body kept trembling but not because of pain, rather because his body kept being pulled to face Envy.

Alex held his leg that was filled with holy energy so it would not step back into the fight.

’Damn it Krystal... you didn’t say there would be side effects like this.’

Krystal was silent for a moment, then her voice echoed in Alex’s head filled with annoyance.

’I just found out too, damn it!! Don’t blame me! You were the one who wanted it quickly!’

Alex let out a mad chuckle in his mind, he hit his leg repeatedly that kept trying to return to the fight.

’What about the knowledge?! Is there no info after leveling up yesterday?!’

A rough exhale was heard from Krystal, she was also frustrated hearing Alex’s complaints.

’There’s no info related to holy energy, damn it!’

Krystal clicked her tongue.

’Just keep hitting him! Your attacks are working anyway...’

Alex dropped himself to the floor, he gripped the floor with his fingers to resist the pull of his body.

’I know it’s working! But this holy energy is clashing with my first soul core! One wants to avoid and one wants to move forward! Didn’t you see my condition?! If I don’t avoid it I will die’

Krystal who heard Alex’s continuous complaints finally let out a cruel chuckle.

’There’s still the second soul core, so just keep hitting!!’

Alex did not realize someone approached him, while the hands that touched his cheeks turned his face toward theirs.

Alex’s black eyes widened, there Katarina was looking at him with an unusual expression.

Alex swallowed, they only looked at each other until Katarina spoke first, she touched Alex’s body that was glowing gold and releasing golden dust, warmth spread across her palm.

"This... this is holy energy."

Katarina’s blue eyes looked at Alex’s entire glowing body, then back to his face.

"How is this possible? How can you have it?"

Alex was silent for a moment, while Katarina’s expression turned blank, her mind raced to find if such a thing existed in her future memories.

A faint smile slowly appeared on Alex’s face when he saw Katarina lost in thought.

"I’ll tell you later..."

Alex slowly stood up, his body still trembling heavily.

Katarina also stood, her gaze still fixed on Alex.

Alex glanced at Katarina, he smiled widely.

"You know, partner? This is the first time I’m using this energy, but it keeps being drawn to that bastard."

Katarina’s expression turned flat, she exhaled and massaged her forehead.

"That is indeed the natural property of holy energy and demonic energy... they attract each other."

Alex listened to Katarina’s words, he looked at his palm that glowed gold and released golden dust.

"Damn..."

Alex slowly removed the pressure from his leg, he slowly stepped forward again toward Envy.

"In that case, I have to finish this quickly..."

As Alex stepped away, a touch held his arm, he turned back with difficulty.

There Katarina’s gaze was slightly lowered.

"I... I didn’t know you had holy energy."

Katarina raised her head and looked at Alex, the touch that was only holding his arm now tightened.

Her voice sounded soft but still clear.

"Please save Mira..."

Katarina shifted her gaze to Envy, whose body was now filled with cracks.

"...if Thomas’s body is destroyed first, Mira and her mother will not be able to return."

Silence occurred between them, the sound of shattering glass continued to be the background of the hall.

Alex chuckled seeing Katarina, he held Katarina’s arm that was gripping his arm tightly.

"You don’t need to ask, I will save that gambler anyway..."

Alex brushed his short black hair.

"Sorry for not telling you from the start..."

Katarina released her grip from Alex, her expression now calmer.

"It’s only been a day... so I forgive you."

Alex nodded and slowly he released his will to restrain his body that kept moving, now he allowed the desire of the holy energy to approach Envy’s demonic energy.

Katarina watched Alex’s back as he moved away, her hands trembled, her heart beat fast.

Alex exhaled warm air from his skin, his golden light shone brighter.

His heart beat rapidly until it almost covered his hearing, his breath released smoke.

His black eyes looked at the glass wall blocking his path, he saw the queen facing Envy.

"Your Majesty!..."

The queen glanced slightly backward, she saw a silhouette of golden light heading toward her, she immediately opened part of the glass wall that separated the hall into two.

Alex passed through the gap in the glass wall, Krystal’s voice sounded in his mind.

’Finish it quickly so I can store holy energy for emergencies...’

Alex chuckled in his mind.

’I haven’t even started, damn it...’

Envy who saw Alex approaching immediately changed his target, his golden eyes widened, his mouth drooled, his voice echoed through the hall.

"HAHAHA... I didn’t expect there to be another holy energy user!"

The queen who saw Envy distracted immediately directed her glass sword toward Envy’s neck.

Her thrust pierced Envy’s neck from the side, Envy did not avoid the queen’s attack at all, he only looked at the queen, a wide smile etched on his face.

"You are no longer interesting, Cathryn..."

The queen gritted her teeth, she was about to slash Envy’s neck, but something stopped her, she remembered something that had to be done.

Meanwhile Alex got closer, he lifted his leg to kick Envy’s head off his neck, Envy’s black mist surged as Alex’s holy energy approached.

When Alex’s kick was about to reach Envy’s head, the queen released her grip on the glass sword still stuck in Envy’s neck.

"Don’t be too hard, Alex!"

Alex whose heartbeat drowned his hearing did not hear what the queen said, his kick struck Envy’s head hard.

Black mist and golden light collided causing a wave of energy, Envy was thrown backward with the glass sword still stuck in his neck.

Now Alex stood beside the queen, his body kept trembling forcing him to approach the demonic energy, he stepped forward but the queen’s hand grabbed his shoulder, stopping him.

Alex turned toward the queen.

The queen scratched her eyebrow, while her other palm felt warmth when touching Alex’s shoulder.

"The appearance of a holy energy user other than a saint surprises me..."

The queen shifted her gaze toward Envy who was slowly rising, his face had cracked and shattered, pieces of his face fell to the floor.

"...and it is just as surprising for him."

A sigh was heard from the queen, she released her hand from Alex’s shoulder.

"He may no longer care about the Bone of Malakar."

One of Alex’s eyebrows rose, he began to understand the direction of the queen’s words.

The queen cracked her neck that felt stiff, her gaze still on Envy.

"Thomas’s body has also reached its limit, if it is destroyed before we can save Mira and her mother, they will disappear without being able to return."

Alex swallowed, he shifted his gaze toward Envy, he saw every crack on his body.

The queen glanced at Alex who was looking at Envy.

"You know, right? The next attack is not to kill, but to save the one inside him."

Alex nodded hearing what the queen said, while the queen saw Alex’s trembling body.

"I don’t know much about how to control holy energy..."

Alex shifted his gaze to the queen who was talking about holy energy, while the queen continued.

"...but Saint Azara once said, just follow its flow, don’t resist it, it is indeed its natural nature."

Alex smiled faintly, he nodded hearing the queen’s advice, but his thoughts were different.

’Of course I will follow the flow... but my powers are colliding with each other’

Krystal who heard Alex’s complaint chuckled.

Meanwhile the queen spoke again, she looked at Alex with her blue eyes.

"After all this is over, you must explain about yourself."

Alex’s heart that was already beating fast now became more intense, cold sweat flowed on his body, he whispered to the queen.

"You know, Your Majesty? I have helped here and there tonight, I will even help that gambler..."

One of the queen’s eyebrows rose, her ears felt amused hearing what Alex said, while Alex continued.

"...I won’t be imprisoned, right? You know I’ve seen news like that."

The queen was silent for a moment, she chuckled hearing what Alex asked, she even covered her mouth.

"How can we imprison someone who has holy energy?"

Alex’s face turned confused, meanwhile cheers of victory from Krystal echoed in his head.

The queen exhaled, she looked at Alex.

"What is happening now is indeed something that has never happened in history, if you can explain the reason clearly you might be fine?"

The queen wanted to speak again, but Envy had already dashed toward them.

She clicked her tongue and shifted her gaze to Envy.

"Anyway, let’s save Mira first..."

Alex nodded and also dashed toward Envy, he moved ahead of the queen, while the queen followed behind him.

Envy pulled the glass sword stuck in his neck, he flowed black mist into the glass sword, slowly the glass sword turned black and cold.

He bent his arm and thrust the glass sword straight at Alex’s face.

The shadow of the black glass sword was reflected in Alex’s black eyes, he did not stop his movement when the sword was about to reach his face, cold sweat flowed from his temples, his first soul core clashed with holy energy where one wanted to avoid and the other wanted to move forward.

Krystal who saw Alex struggling helped slightly, she dimmed the flow of holy energy in Alex.

Slowly Alex’s golden light dimmed slightly, a faint smile formed on Alex’s face, now his first soul core could control his body.

’Nice... Krystal.’

Alex’s first soul core responded, Alex’s body bent down to avoid Envy’s thrust when it was about to reach his face.

Now Alex was under Envy’s arm, while Envy’s glass sword was directed toward the queen behind Alex.

Envy did not stop his thrust, he targeted the queen.

But an invisible square glass formed out of nothing, the queen created it in an instant and the glass sword thrust clashed with that invisible square glass.

Alex who heard the sound of glass colliding immediately raised his right clenched fist, his punch targeted Envy’s wrist holding the glass sword.

Alex’s punch made Envy’s hand lift and his grip on the glass sword loosened, the touch of their skin made holy energy and demonic energy collide.

Envy spread his wings after his attack failed, he intended to retreat first.

The queen who was already tired of the prolonged fight immediately saw the opening at Envy’s back.

Quickly something appeared there, two glass mirrors emerged from nothing, both showing the queen’s figure.

Envy realized something behind him, but he had no time to turn, while Alex who slowly stood upright was slightly amazed by the queen’s power.

The reflections of the queen from the two mirrors slowly stepped out of the mirrors, their forms were very similar to the queen but made of glass.

The two glass clones immediately grabbed each of Envy’s wings.

Envy who was now trapped could not fly away, while the two clones kicked the back of Envy’s knees causing him to kneel.

Alex’s black eyes widened, he saw many openings that could be used.

’Damn... Katarina’s mother is truly terrifying’

Krystal who also saw it immediately poured more holy energy than before into Alex’s body.

Alex’s body shone brighter again, more golden dust came out than before.

Envy who was cornered instead smiled widely seeing it, he spoke in the middle of the chaos, his voice echoed.

"Nice to meet you... Alex."

Alex’s hair stood on end hearing Envy’s voice.

Envy licked his lips with his long tongue.

"Until next time... I will kill you then."

Silence occurred after Envy’s words, but that silence was broken by something troublesome.

Slowly Envy’s black horns and both wings began to crack, the cracks spread throughout his body, his horns shattered into pieces, his black wings also shattered afterward, the queen’s glass clones that were holding Envy’s wings were now holding nothing.

Envy’s hands slowly shattered as the cracks spread wider.

Alex’s heart beat fast seeing it, the queen who also saw Envy gradually breaking apart immediately shouted.

"HIS HEART, ALEX!!"

Alex immediately extended his glowing hand toward Envy’s heart, his golden light now touching Envy’s body.

Alex thrust his hand into Envy’s heart, while Envy screamed in pain, but the scream was not the same as before.

Alex did not care, he thrust deeper into Envy’s body, half of his arm entered without resistance, but his hand did not pierce through Envy’s back.

Alex moved his hand inside Envy’s body which made Envy’s body convulse, the cracks in his body began to shatter him into pieces.

Alex gritted his teeth while a breath was heard in his mind, Krystal began to pour her holy energy to the maximum.

’After this... don’t die, damn it’

Golden light illuminated Alex’s body more than before, now the entire hall was affected by his light transferring warmth.

The golden light also illuminated the cracks on Envy’s body, and his eyeballs also glowed gold.

Alex’s hand that stabbed into Envy’s body finally broke through something, his hand that was previously blocked now felt freedom, and a cold air that tried to erase the warmth.

Alex’s heart beat fast, sweat poured across his face, he gritted his teeth.

"HEYYY!!!.... MIRAAAA!!!"

Alex’s shout echoed throughout the hall, his shout reached Katarina who stood behind the glass wall, her blue eyes did not blink watching Alex.

Alex’s voice also reached a place that was very far and a place that was very cold.
