I Was Not Meant To Exist

The sound of slow footsteps echoed through one of the palace corridors, five young people walking slowly along it.

The sound of footsteps that had been the only sound now found a rival, the sound of crying suddenly being heard from one of the youths.

The youth had long black hair tied in a ponytail, tears dripping down and wetting his cheeks which were also stained with dried blood.

The shirt he wore was dirty here and there and slightly damp, and on the chest part of the shirt there was a hole as if it had been stabbed.

The youth’s crying grew louder, not because of the injuries he suffered, but because he saw the hand of his friend whom he was helping to walk.

The youth was helping his friend walk by hooking his friend’s arm around his neck, but his friend’s right hand was wrapped in bandages where half of it had been cut off.

The youth’s voice sounded broken.

"I’m sorry... aril... because of me... your hand..."

The youth could not finish his words because of his crying.

Aril, whose body was more severely injured, could only let out a breath, he did not feel pain for the moment because he had taken a pain suppressant potion.

He glanced slightly to the right, his gaze slightly lowered.

"Why are you apologizing, ken? Even if I lose both my hands, I will still kill that bastard."

Ken’s crying stopped for a moment, he looked at aril, but when their eyes met, his crying instead became even louder.

A clicking sound of the tongue was heard from aril’s left side, there reva was also wrapping aril’s arm around her neck, helping him walk.

The veins bulged on her forehead, a growl coming from her lips.

"Be quiet, ken! You’re too noisy! What if someone comes again, damn it!"

Ken did not hear what reva said, he kept crying while walking making reva even more provoked.

Behind them, katarina helped alex walk, the wounds all over his body had stopped bleeding, but the pain was still felt.

Alex chuckled seeing ken, aril, and reva in front of them.

Meanwhile katarina who was helping him walk glanced at him after hearing alex chuckle.

"Why are you laughing?"

Alex also glanced at katarina, a breath coming out of him.

"It’s nothing... it’s just funny seeing them."

Katarina shifted her gaze to the three of them walking ahead, especially to aril’s right arm which had now been cut off.

Katarina’s voice was like a whisper, but alex could hear it.

"This all happened because of me, I failed to calculate what would happen..."

One of alex’s eyebrows raised, he looked at katarina who slightly lowered her head.

"Why is that your fault? You did your part well..."

Alex patted katarina’s right shoulder, he smiled faintly.

"If it wasn’t for you we might have lost."

Katarina looked at alex with a blank expression, her expression as if she did not believe what she heard.

"You’re joking, right?"

Alex shook his head, he adjusted his hand that katarina was helping to support.

"By the way, what about that gambler? Can your mother save him?"

Katarina fell silent for a moment, she brushed her dark red hair, her voice sounded soft.

"If thomas hasn’t completely turned into a demon, maybe it’s still possible? But if he has fully turned, only saint azara can help...."

Alex swallowed his saliva hearing what katarina said.

"You know? I don’t know much about demons yet, can mira’s father really turn into a demon?"

Katarina looked at alex, she nodded slightly.

Alex who also looked at katarina, his face filled with curiosity.

"Then why can only saint azara save mira if her father has already changed?"

Katarina’s face turned confused, she let out a breath.

"Of course because she’s the only one who has holy energy, right? How could you not know that...."

Alex’s eyes widened, his expression froze when he heard what katarina said, he didn’t even hear anything katarina said afterward.

He only cursed himself in his heart, krystal who also heard what katarina said did the same.

Alex’s mind kept being noisy from his conversation with himself and krystal, even a vibration that spread through the corridor did not divert his focus which was talking to krystal.

The vibration that reached the corridor came from the palace’s backyard.

There dozens of glass swords targeted the sky aiming at something flying, the grass and plants that had once beautifully decorated the garden were now no longer visible, there was only chaos happening there.

The queen only stood watching something that kept flying in the sky to avoid her attacks.

Her blue eyes did not waver and remained focused on her target, dozens of glass swords kept appearing around her aiming at that flying thing.

Pain began to spread through her head, her hand slowly clenched.

Something that was flying to avoid the queen’s attacks in the sky slowly rotated its body and flight direction, it slowly descended aiming toward the queen.

The queen glanced slightly at the person beside her, there a masked man stood.

"White... I think this will be difficult, you won’t be of much help this time. So go to black."

White remained silent for a moment, while the queen walked away from him.

"But... Your Majesty."

The queen spoke without turning back.

"Katarina may have already left, the next priority is the servants who cannot fight."

White swallowed his saliva, while the queen’s mana surged more than before, the white robe white wore even fluttered from the wind.

White immediately nodded and left the backyard.

Meanwhile the queen began to manifest two square-shaped glass footholds, the queen stepped onto those footholds, her glass shoes merging naturally with them.

Her blue eyes were fixed on the figure approaching her, a figure with two horns on its forehead, and a pair of large black wings on its back.

The queen slowly took out a rapier from her smart bracelet, the rapier was golden glowing with specks of golden dust floating around its blade.

The queen propelled her glass footholds into the air, she dashed toward that figure.

The figure’s eyes widened, its tongue stuck out, it turned its right hand into a sharp black blade.

They got closer and closer, their weapons aimed at each other and when their weapons clashed, a wave of energy struck the air down to the ground.

The queen’s rapier extended toward the figure’s heart, while the figure’s black blade aimed at the necklace worn by the queen.

The figure smiled, a foul smell came from each breath it took, its voice sounded disgusting.

"You’re wasting time... cathryn."

The queen chuckled, she increased her strength to reach the figure’s heart.

"You’re the one wasting time, thomas..."

The queen fell silent for a moment, she looked at the face before her, now its entire body had turned black, only its golden eyes still looked like thomas’s eyes.

"...no, no, you are no longer thomas. You are envy."

Envy chuckled hearing what the queen said, it directed its left hand now covered in black toward the queen’s necklace.

When its claw was about to touch the necklace, its hand stopped, something invisible held it, and that invisible thing began to push envy’s hand until its body was pushed away from the queen.

Envy spun in the air, it flew lower than the queen, it looked at the queen from below.

No words came out from them, envy immediately flapped its wings to fly toward the queen.

The queen repeatedly manifested invisible glass walls to block envy, she made them in front to crash it into envy then made them on the right, left, and behind.

Envy looked around when it felt the air did not touch its skin, from above invisible glass blades fell, it felt something dangerous was coming, it slowly stopped flapping its wings, it fell downward.

The queen’s blue eyes saw that clearly, she stepped her glass footholds, dashing downward at the best speed she could.

Her holy rapier extended toward envy’s heart, golden dust particles spinning around the blade.

Envy smiled widely seeing that, it immediately flapped its wings toward the ground to accelerate its fall.

One of the queen’s eyebrows raised, she failed to stab envy’s heart, but she did not stop, she kept chasing downward.

Meanwhile envy almost reached the ground, but it did not slow down, instead it turned into a shadow and crawled on the ground.

The queen followed it while firing invisible glass blades that only pierced the ground.

Envy crawled toward the palace wall, it kept avoiding the queen’s glass blade stabs, while the queen’s glass blades kept hitting the empty palace building.

Envy crawled higher, the queen was now in a lower position than it, it slowly reformed its body and immediately lunged at the queen from above.

The queen prepared her rapier, while envy turned its hand into a long black blade, thrusts happened between them.

Smoke blew from the queen’s holy rapier and envy’s body, a burning sensation nested in envy’s hand when the holy rapier touched it several times.

Seeing that, the queen immediately manifested a giant transparent glass sword between them, she dropped it toward envy.

Envy, realizing something bad, became slightly distracted, it looked upward, but a faint smile formed on its face, a smile the queen could not see.

The queen’s blue eyes widened seeing the opening that suddenly appeared, her hand holding the holy rapier twitched.

’Should I? Or wait? But maybe there won’t be another chance like this.’

The queen stopped her large transparent glass sword that was falling above envy, she changed it into smaller glass swords, surrounding both of them.

Envy, realizing the threat disappeared, immediately lowered its head, what it saw was the queen who had already stabbed her holy rapier right into its heart.

A smoky mist appeared from there, golden dust particles scattered while black mist tried to devour it.

The queen gritted her teeth, she stabbed her holy rapier deeper, but strangely it did not pierce envy’s body.

The black mist grew wilder, it fanned the queen’s face bringing a foul smell.

Envy’s body trembled violently, the queen did not care, she stabbed deeper until it was finally stopped by something.

The black mist grew thicker coming out of envy’s body, its body slowly stopped trembling, while the golden dust from the holy rapier blade grew thinner.

The queen’s expression turned blank, she who had been focused on envy’s heart slowly shifted her gaze, she looked at envy’s face.

There envy smiled widely, the widest smile carved on its face, a smile completely opposite to its previous convulsions.

The queen’s hair stood on end seeing that smile, a whisper slipped from her lips unconsciously.

"Damn..."

The queen immediately commanded the invisible glass swords surrounding them to stab them simultaneously.

Envy released black mist that immediately spread surrounding them faster than the queen’s transparent glass swords.

The queen’s transparent glass swords shattered upon colliding with the black mist, slowly both of them were enveloped by the black mist.

The golden dust particles on the queen’s rapier blade slowly disappeared swallowed by the black mist.

The queen released her grip on her rapier, she pushed her body backward to get out of the black mist, her glass necklace lifted.

Their gazes did not leave each other, in the reflection of the queen’s blue eyes envy’s black claw was aimed at her necklace, she could see it clearly as if time slowed.

’Saving mira is no longer possible... unless saint azara is here.’

Envy’s hand got closer, the queen who usually would immediately block it with her glass walls now seemed silent.

Her mind kept racing in her silence.

’Has rina left? She should have left, right?’

One of envy’s black claws finally reached the necklace, the queen’s hand twitched, she let her necklace be touched by envy.

She still felt doubtful until that moment, as if there was something bothering her heart.

But in the end, the queen did nothing.

’Now it’s just a matter of holding on until his body is destroyed...’

Envy’s golden eyes widened, it felt something strange when touching the glass necklace, but it did not care, it immediately pulled it without hesitation.

The queen who had lost her glass necklace immediately pulled herself out of the black mist, a cold sensation spread through her body upon contact with the mist.

The queen immediately moved away and stood on the ground while watching envy still in the air, it looked at the glass necklace with satisfaction.

Meanwhile the queen only remained silent waiting for envy’s next reaction.

Envy’s golden eyes looked closely at the necklace, the glass necklace shaped like a cube with a purple dot inside it.

It shook the necklace, its nose moved to sniff something, but no smell came from it, envy’s face turned confused, it sniffed again but still no familiar scent.

Its lips twitched and then a wide smile formed on its face, a more terrifying smile than before.

Its golden eyes shifted to look at the queen who was now on the ground, the queen brushed her long blonde hair, her expression showing indifference.

Envy clenched the glass cube necklace, its gaze still fixed on the queen.

It clenched its hand tightly until the sound of glass breaking was heard, it opened its grip and glass dust fell from above.

"Fake..."

After its words the air seemed to reverse, pressure struck the entire palace area, the garden ground slowly cracked from the pressure, even the main palace building began to shake.

But amidst all that, the queen still stood firmly without being shaken in the slightest by envy’s pressure.

She even mocked envy, her voice piercing through the air pressure.

"You think I’m foolish enough to wear it and fight you?"

After the queen’s words, envy burst into laughter, its laughter echoed throughout the palace area.

But suddenly its echoing laughter stopped, its golden eyes closed, it looked at all the shadows in the palace, every person’s shadow appeared in its mind, the shadows kept changing until it finally found the shadow it was looking for, the shadow of a girl with dark red hair walking slowly with others, the girl wearing the same necklace as the queen.

The queen who saw envy only closed her eyes, immediately forming a transparent glass wall above envy, she commanded the wall to crush it.

"You won’t find anything here, envy. That necklace is no longer here."

The transparent glass wall descended quickly, but when envy opened its golden eyes, the wall shattered, its invisible shards raining down on envy.

But envy did not avoid it, instead it only smiled in satisfaction.

The queen who saw that swallowed her saliva, her feeling turned uneasy.

Envy who smiled in satisfaction slowly laughed, its voice echoed, and after that laughter, it looked at the queen who still stood still.

"You are too arrogant, cathryn..."

The queen’s face turned confused, but her heart beat fast hearing envy’s words.

’What did it say? Rina has left, right?’

Envy exhaled, it licked its lips with its protruding tongue.

"Was it your child who took it?"

The queen’s blue eyes widened, her heart that had been beating fast now seemed to stop suddenly.

Envy who saw the queen not answering only chuckled.

"So it’s true..."

Envy spread its wings making the queen prepare again.

"In that case... I will deliver your message to your child."

After its words envy slowly entered the palace building behind it, the queen’s blue eyes only watched it go without moving for a moment.

Her heart started beating fast again, she channeled her mana and a glass horse formed from nothing, the queen mounted it without hesitation and rode it into the palace.

Her face now turned pale, with her empty blue gaze.

"Rina... have you not left yet?"

The queen gritted her teeth, she spurred her glass horse faster.
