I Was Not Meant To Exist

The sound of Alex’s body falling onto the floor was heard by Katarina, Aril, Ken, and Reva.

They fell silent for a few moments, but after they managed to process what had happened, they immediately ran to where Alex had fallen.

There, Alex’s blood flowed and seeped onto the floor, his blood also soaking his clothes, creating stains that would be difficult to remove, his body convulsing violently as if it would explode.

Katarina’s blue eyes trembled, she wanted to touch Alex’s convulsing body but she restrained herself.

She immediately took out several small bottles of healing potion, Reva who saw that immediately helped Katarina to turn Alex’s convulsing body over, her face which previously looked like she didn’t want to see Alex now turned into concern.

Ken gritted his teeth, he held the hilt of his katana tightly.

"This idiot...he held back all of his wounds."

Katarina swallowed, her hands trembling slightly as she began to pour the potion into Alex’s lips.

’So this is what he meant by only being able to last 10 minutes....idiot, why didn’t he say it from the start.’

Aril who saw that held his head, his heart beating fast, his blood boiling as his breath chased the air quickly.

He was afraid of losing someone he knew again, especially at the hands of the same person who killed his mother.

A movement not far from them drew their attention, which was previously focused on Alex, to shift elsewhere.

Everyone turned except Katarina who was feeding the healing potion into Alex’s mouth.

There, a mass of blood formed a figure without legs, on its body a clearly visible heart that beat as the core of the formation of that figure, the red blood pumped by the beating heart formed two long clawed hands, and a head without a face appeared, only a smiling mouth on that blood head.

Its voice sounded strange and echoed.

"Hahahaha so that’s the secret..."

The hairs on everyone’s body stood on end when they heard a voice that no longer sounded like a human.

Aril clenched his fists tightly, while the figure directed its blood hands toward where they were.

Its blood hands writhed and blood knives shot rapidly toward where they were.

Aril gritted his teeth, he immediately got up to block the attack.

"Come on! Ken!"

Ken closed his eyes, he calmed himself for a moment and immediately followed once he was ready.

Reva who saw them leave immediately looked at Katarina.

"Princess...what are we going to do?"

Katarina who was still focused on feeding the healing potion to Alex immediately answered Reva without turning.

"Help them first....we can’t escape calmly if that monster follows..."

Katarina turned to look at Reva who was still looking at her.

"....we have to defeat it here."

Reva nodded after hearing what Katarina wanted, she immediately merged with the shadows and followed Aril and Ken.

Katarina let out a breath, she looked back at Alex who was unconscious, his convulsions had stopped but his wounds were still visible all over his body.

Katarina bit her lip, her voice whispered to Alex.

"Don’t die again....idiot"

Meanwhile Aril flowed mana throughout his body, he crossed his arms in front of his face as the blood knives flew approaching.

Aril’s face grimaced as the blood knives pierced his body, but from where the blood knives were embedded, a green light shone.

Aril’s brown eyes focused on the mass of blood in front of him, his steps measured, he stomped his right foot onto the ground as support.

Cracks appeared on the ground from Aril’s stomp, he jumped high making the mass of blood look upward.

Aril slowly descended from the sky, his right hand clenched and a bright green light shone there, he directed his fist at the mass of blood.

Aril’s punch that struck the mass of blood released kinetic energy, a gust of wind swept through the room, the mass of blood exploded when hit by the kinetic energy.

Half of its body disappeared, but soon after, its visible heart began beating faster, the heart pumped blood again to reform its missing body.

Aril who had landed on the ground saw that, his fist which should have been able to incapacitate it had no effect on the mass of blood.

Aril’s brown eyes widened, he froze for a moment.

And in that moment, the blood claws began heading toward him, while Aril only stood still watching the blood claws approach.

Not far from Aril, a shout sounded to wake him up.

"Move, idiot!"

Aril’s ears twitched hearing the warning shout, he immediately rolled to the right, while the claw struck the floor.

The mass of blood that saw Aril dodge immediately tried to attack Aril while he was unprepared.

But its body stopped as its claw was about to reach Aril.

The mass of blood became stiff, as Ken ran closer.

His left eye was closed while his right eye was open and its pupil turned white.

A breath came from his lips, he drew his katana from its sheath, he also flowed mana into both his legs, his movement became faster.

Aril who saw that immediately moved away, while Ken closed his right eye which was almost bleeding, now his left eye opened and turned white.

His vision instantly changed, but what he saw made him hesitate.

"Damn...the red point is only there."

In Ken’s vision he only saw a red point located at the heart of the mass of blood.

Slowly the body of the mass of blood began moving again, its blood claws aimed at Ken.

Ken who had flowed mana into his legs immediately dodged to the right quickly, he bent both his legs and jumped toward the heart of the mass of blood.

Ken made a stabbing motion, his left eye only focused on the heart of the mass of blood.

A wide smile was carved on the head of the mass of blood, it immediately shifted its heart that had been targeted by Ken.

Ken’s left eye glanced toward the moving heart, his body could not stop in the air, he only crashed into the body of the mass of blood and passed through it.

A foul smell enveloped Ken’s entire body as the blood from the mass of blood soaked his entire body and clothes.

Ken gritted his teeth.

"Damn..."

The mass of blood immediately turned its body, it targeted Ken who had not yet touched the ground, but a green kinetic energy explosion caused part of its body to disappear again.

A fierce battle continued between them, every attack that came from Aril and Ken was not effective against the mass of blood that kept moving its heart.

Ken pierced through the body of the mass several times but what he got was only his body and clothes becoming dirtier and smellier, his katana slashes infused with mana had no effect at all on the mass of blood, even his right eye had started to bleed due to excessive use.

The same thing happened to Aril, his kinetic energy punches did not destroy anything, he did explode the body of the mass of blood for a moment, creating a large gaping hole there, but as long as the heart of the mass of blood still existed, it would continue to reform itself.

Reva who came after them also did not make a difference, her shadow knife slashes had absolutely no effect on the body of the mass of blood.

Meanwhile they continued to be battered by the savage attacks from the giant mass of blood.

The sound of them being thrown was heard by Katarina who was still at the edge, she bit her lip, her heart beating fast.

A whisper came from her for herself.

Katarina began to lose her patience, she held the glass cube-shaped necklace she wore.

She slowly stood up to help the others, but a touch stopped her, a touch that should not have been able to touch her at that time.

Katarina shifted her gaze from the battlefield, her gaze moved to Alex who was still lying on the cold floor.

His face covered in cold sweat began to move, his lips began to produce a hoarse sound.

"You guys are struggling without me, huh?..."

Katarina swallowed, she immediately tried to give another antidote to Alex, but Alex refused, he pointed at the wall on the side of the room.

"Just take me there..."

Katarina let out a breath, she closed her eyes for a moment and brought Alex to lean against the wall, when Alex leaned he could clearly see the battlefield being fought by Aril, Reva, and Ken.

Katarina glanced briefly at Alex’s body which had wounds everywhere.

"You’re pushing yourself too much..."

Alex chuckled hearing that, his voice still sounded hoarse.

"If I didn’t do that, we wouldn’t be able to defeat him, right?"

Katarina let out a breath, she massaged her forehead, then looked at Alex, they looked at each other for a moment.

"You are the only one who knows my secret and my burden, I do not want to lose you on the same day after I tell you...."

Alex’s ears twitched hearing what Katarina said, he began to laugh, but every laugh brought pain from his wounds.

Katarina brushed her dark red hair, she slowly wanted to stand, but Alex’s hand slightly pinched Katarina’s clothes.

Katarina turned toward him, her blue eyes widened, she saw Alex take out a small paper with a symbol on it, he handed it to Katarina while chuckling.

"Use this...this is what we once prepared for the VR simulation"

Katarina’s face turned confused, Alex who saw that clicked his tongue.

"Listen to me, I will not be able to join to give the final blow, but I will make the path..."

Katarina swallowed, she began to listen to what Alex said while his body leaned against the wall.

Alex spoke for a while, and at the end of their conversation, Katarina chuckled.

"You really have many tricks, don’t you?"

Alex took pride in Katarina’s praise.

"Isn’t that just something simple? You guys are just dumb."

Veins bulged on Katarina’s forehead, usually she would burn Alex with her blue fire, but now she held it back.

Katarina let out a breath, she slowly stood up and began to walk.

Alex who saw Katarina’s back slowly moving away shouted a little.

"Do your best, partner! You still owe me a nice dinner!...."

Alex paused for a moment.

"....because maybe the night will end soon, change it to a luxurious breakfast, partner!"

Katarina smiled faintly, while Alex kept shouting.

"Let’s all have breakfast together! We will invite that gambler too!"

Katarina clenched her fist, her blue eyes now focused on the mass of blood being fought by the others, a whisper came from her.

"Yes...we will all have breakfast together at the beginning of a new day"

Katarina began to gather mana in both her palms, she clapped her hands several times, blue sparks began to appear from each clap, she directed her palms toward where the mass of blood was, four pillars of blue fire appeared around the mass of blood, the heat of the fire made its movement become limited.

Aril, Reva, and Ken who also saw the blue fire pillars immediately shifted their gaze, there Katarina stood, a faint smile carved on her face as her dark red hair fluttered.

She slowly moved toward the mass of blood while continuing to attack with her blue fire.

Katarina’s voice became another sound besides the roaring of her blue fire pillars.

"Reva! Close this room with your shadows!"

Reva froze for a moment, she tilted her head, Katarina pointed toward the wall where Alex leaned watching them.

"This is that trickster’s plan!"

A breath came from Reva, she slowly knelt on the floor, both her hands touching the floor.

"Damn....I don’t like following that trickster’s plan."

Reva flowed almost all her mana into her palms, from her palms shadows slowly spread across the entire floor of the room.

Those shadows climbed the walls and sealed all exits, Alex who felt the cold shadows on his back began to smile.

"That short fuse...if she’s this strong why has she never shown it."

Alex’s gaze focused on Reva who was still kneeling, cold sweat flowed on her forehead, after a while, the entire room was covered in shadows and became dark, but in the middle of that darkness, Katarina’s blue fire became the only light.

The mass of blood that realized the change in its battlefield began to search for the source of the shadows, its head which had no eyes finally turned toward Reva, it immediately directed its blood claw toward her.

Reva who became the target just stayed still because Ken had already appeared near her.

Ken closed his left eye and used his right eye which had turned white.

The blood claw stopped right in front of them and made the entire body of the mass of blood become stiff, Aril appeared and began to destroy the arm of the mass of blood.

Ken’s right eye twitched, blood slowly flowed from his right eye, Ken then closed his right eye, he whispered to Reva.

"What is the plan?..."

Reva let out a breath while trying to focus on what she was doing.

"Don’t know..."

Ken looked again at the mass of blood that was being fought by Katarina and Aril.

There Katarina kept moving while firing her blue fire, her movements showed the skill of a close combat fighter, movements that should not be possessed by Katarina at this time.

Katarina spun in the dark sky while continuing to fire blue fire from her palms, every spin like a dance of death.

Ken and Reva who were at the edge had their eyes shining, Reva clicked her tongue when she saw Ken whose mouth slowly opened.

"Don’t be mesmerized by the princess, you womanizer!"

Ken chuckled hearing what Reva said.

"Is it not allowed?"

Reva almost laughed in disbelief hearing Ken’s answer.

"Wow...your answer has changed, huh? That trickster really makes people around him become worse."

Ken chuckled hearing what Reva said and the sound of an explosion shifted their attention.

There Katarina began to run around the mass of blood, while Aril still continued to distract the mass of blood.

Katarina took out the small paper with the symbol that had been given by Alex, she glanced at it and remembered what she had to do.

She flowed a little mana into the paper, the paper became stiff, Katarina ran behind the back of the mass of blood.

She took a breath, her hand began to move upward, she threw the small paper that had been infused with mana above the head of the mass of blood.

The paper slowly shone, its light which should not have been too bright, now became the brightest inside the shadow room that Reva created.

Everyone’s attention was diverted, even the mass of blood that had no eyes also looked at the light.

But after a moment the light dimmed, and something came out of the small paper with that symbol, something that was never expected to appear in that place.

A strong stream of water burst out from the small paper, something that was impossible to happen if not because of someone’s talent.

The splash of cold water immediately gushed toward the body of the mass of blood.

Its body which consisted of blood began to dissolve due to the stream of water that kept coming out without stopping, the mass of blood looked at its hand which was slowly shrinking as its blood dissolved in the water, a roar of anger came out from it, its heart began to beat faster to control its dissolving blood, but the volume of water that kept coming out made everything it did useless, its angry roar echoed throughout the room.

The water pooled on the floor where Reva knelt, cold water mixed with blood hit her skin.

"Damn...this really is that trickster’s plan."

Ken also chuckled seeing the cold water that soaked his feet.

"Damn...this is Osteria lake water"

The stream of water also drenched Katarina who was not far from its source, the water pooling on the floor also made it difficult for her to move.

She shouted in the middle of the cold water that drenched her.

"Aril! The heart!"

Aril’s ears twitched, he stood not far in front of the mass of blood which was still screaming, its body slowly shrinking.

Aril’s heart beat fast, his breath chased the air quickly, the wounds he felt on his body were slowly forgotten, his steps slowly split the water that filled the room, his steps which slowly turned into a run, the water that churned with each step began to make sound.

Slowly the water that hit the mass of blood stopped coming out, Katarina clicked her tongue seeing that, she shifted her gaze toward Ken while Aril continued to run forward.

"Ken! Hold that bastard!"

Ken who heard what Katarina said began to shift his gaze toward the mass of blood which had shrunk to the size of Aril.

But not only Ken heard it, the mass of blood also heard it, it directed its right hand toward Ken, a blood knife appeared from there and shot toward Ken.

That attack made everyone freeze, Katarina’s blue eyes widened, her hands twitched, she gritted her teeth, she tried to release blue fire to block the blood knife from Ken.

’No no...’

Meanwhile Ken who saw that swallowed, cold sweat flowed on his forehead mixing with the blood that came out from his right eye.

But he did not care about the blood knife that was heading toward him, he slowly closed his left eye and let his right eye open, his right eye that opened slowly turned white.

Ken tried to direct his katana toward the blood knife that was heading toward him while his gaze was focused on the mass of blood.

"Hurry up Aril....I can’t last long."

Reva who was not far from Ken shouted at him, unfortunately she could not move because she had to maintain her shadow room so that the water would not escape.

Aril who saw all of that began to run faster, his breath becoming impatient.

He clenched his right fist tightly, the flow of mana flowed into his fist.

The mass of blood looked at Aril, its face which only had a mouth smiled, its voice sounded echoing in Aril’s ears, a voice that was no longer a human voice.

After what the mass of blood said, its body began to stiffen and did not move in front of Aril.

But he did not feel any impact on his katana blade after his slashing movement finished.

Ken’s right eye widened, his heart beat fast, he felt a sharp gust of wind heading toward his body.

Something sharp felt like it pierced his body, pain was immediately felt instantly, his forehead twitched, his right eye which should have remained open instead blinked once.

Ken’s body was pushed backward, he fell into the puddle of water.

Reva’s expression changed when she saw Ken fall with a blood knife piercing his body.

The same expression was also shown by Katarina, she failed to release her blue fire to block the knife, a bitter feeling spread on her tongue.

Her blue eyes slowly glanced elsewhere.

’Damn...I was wrong, I was wrong. I should have supported Aril’

A heavy feeling burdened Katarina, she slowly looked at Aril whose fist was almost reaching the heart of the mass of blood.

Aril’s vision was only focused on the heart, while he did not realize what was happening, his scream made him deaf, and his eyes that were only focused on one goal made him lose his awareness.

He did not see the blood claw that was slowly moving, he realized when a voice that he should not have heard at that time began to be heard again.

Aril’s heart instantly stopped when he heard that disgusting voice.

But the mass of blood did not stop, it directed its blood claw toward Aril, one fast movement, one movement that could change everything.

The blood claw cut off Aril’s right arm that was aimed at its heart.

Aril’s expression only stayed frozen seeing his arm separated from its place.

Everyone who saw it fell silent, even Alex who saw Aril’s back could only grit his teeth, he could not move to help anyone.

A warm sensation began to spread in Aril’s severed right arm, that warmth was followed by pain when the wind hit his flesh.

Fear began to spread again in his heart, starting to gnaw at him again.

His focused vision began to blur, the feeling of regret for himself who was carried away by emotion made the strength that supported him begin to weaken, Aril’s body slowly lost its stance.

But a shout made him regain his senses.

"FINISH HIM, ARIL!!!!"

Aril’s heart which had stopped beating began to beat again after hearing that voice, his vision which had slowly begun to blur now became focused again, his scream which had disappeared now returned, this time tears came out as his support.

"HUARGHHHH!!!!"

Aril slowly rose, his severed arm slowly emitted a green light.

That light dazzled the mass of blood that had no eyes, it again directed its blood claw.

But Aril who had come back to life did it first.

He directed his severed arm toward the heart of the mass of blood which was still beating fast.

When its heart touched Aril’s flesh, a kinetic explosion blew the air around them, that explosion made the body of the mass of blood become hollow, leaving only the heart that was pushed by Aril’s severed arm.

Aril stepped forward with all his strength, he pierced through the body of the mass of blood, his left hand reached out toward the heart that was still floating in the air, that heart was still beating and trying to pump blood again.

But Aril’s left hand reached it first, his left hand gripped it with all his strength, Aril flowed the remaining mana that he had into his left hand, he raised his left fist that held the heart and directed it toward the floor that was covered with water.

His fist that struck the water-covered floor created vibrations throughout the room, those vibrations sent waves of water toward Katarina, Ken, Reva, and Alex.

The explosion from that punch made the heart of the mass of blood shatter into pieces.

The sound of crying became the sound that came out of Aril after his scream, his tears fell and mixed with the water pooling on the floor.

His lips moved as sound came out from him, his breath became ragged, and Aril’s voice came out that only he himself could hear.

"Mother....I did it....I did it, mother."
