Magic Store

The old man and I discussed it. In the end, the price was negotiated for 3,200 low-grade mana stones. I paid the 50 low-grade mana stones to the middle-aged woman.

The manager was surprised, but he allowed the staff to accept the tip. If not for the female staff not asking unnecessary questions, the deal wouldn’t have ended so smoothly.

A few minutes later,

I left the magic store with a smile on my face. I’m in no hurry to go back to the inn. I’m still not sure whether anyone is going to stalk me.

So, it’s better to explore a few more stores. Then I came to a cab driver and asked him about other magic stores.

He knew about the magic stores. One was located on the next street. Then I sat down in the car. The driver started taking me to the next store.

At the same time, the manager watched the car leaving from the second floor. But he didn’t do anything. He understood that the identity of the young man was not simple.

He could tell that the young man was in his twenties but already a Supreme Wizard. Only powerful wizard forces could raise such monsters.

He shook his head before continuing with his work.

Time passed,

I checked in a few other magic stores. The stores had good collections, but they were not useful for my current strength.

The system didn’t find another relic either. So, I returned to the inn an hour later.

...

Inn

In the room, I took the antique ore out. I didn’t enter the Gregor Mansion. I noticed that the inn manager was keeping an eye on me.

Whenever I came or left the inn, his eyes were always on my back, and he seemed to note down some information as well.

I could tell that the inn manager was recording my activities.

Then, I brushed the thoughts away before looking at the ore.

"System, how do I use it?" I asked the system.

[Ding! Place the ore in the mana core-eating artifact.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, I looked around. I decided not to take out the mirror here.

Swoosh!

I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I entered the hall. Then, I took the mana core-eating artifact out of the system space.

Looking at the artifact, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle. I used to use the artifact to kill Supreme Wizards. Since I have become a Supreme Wizard myself, it didn’t have much use anymore.

I was wondering how to solve the problem, but I didn’t expect to come across such a chance today.

Then, I placed the antique ore into the mirror. The next moment, changes happened. The mirror artifact is a living artifact; it immediately absorbed the antique ore.

The next second, the transformations began to take place. The mirror became crystal clear. The frame turned black in color with a new design.

The mana pressure coming from the artifact was now related to a Magic Lord.

A hint of relief flashed in my eyes.

If the mana core-eating artifact became an artifact that could kill Magic Lords, then my trip would be smooth.

Because Forbidden Wizards and Elder-level powerhouses are hard to find outside. They reside in important places, such as top forces.

I don’t think you can find them on every journey. As long as I can deal with Magic Lords, I don’t have to worry about dangers.

It took a few hours for the changes to come to an end.

[Ding! Magic Lord-level Living Artifact.]

[Ding! The host can now kill any Magic Lord with the artifact.]

I heard the system voice in my mind and heaved a sigh of relief. I looked at the artifact. Like the crimson scroll, I can control this artifact.

I poured mana into the artifact. Then, I began to control it. The size of the artifact was reduced. It became a palm-sized mirror in a flash.

Seeing that, I was surprised. Now it has become handy; I can hide it under my palm. Then, I collected my thoughts and put away the mirror artifact in the system space.

Swoosh!

I appeared outside and began to get ready for the return journey.

Meanwhile,

A few wizards dressed in city official uniforms visited the inn.

The leading middle-aged man was tall with broad shoulders. He had golden hair and was wearing a white uniform. His name was Loyd.

The inn manager saw the person, and his expression changed drastically. Wizards with golden hair are mostly from the royal family or connected to the royal families.

The inn manager hurriedly went to greet him.

"Lord," the inn manager uttered.

Loyd smiled and said, "I saw the database. There is a Supreme Wizard staying in your inn."

"Yes, my lord. But he seems to have some background," the inn manager said. This was his reading of the guest.

Loyd said, "It doesn’t matter. Since he entered our nation, he cannot escape."

"Where is he staying?"

"Show us his room," he said, before ordering his men to bring him out.

Loyd was a Supreme Wizard. He had some connections with the royal family, being a distant relative to them.

That’s why he was able to come here to the border city and order people around.

The next moment, four of the ten men rushed inside the inn. The inn manager told them the room number.

Loyd’s eyes flashed with a glint. The reason he was doing this was for personal reasons. He had been secretly forming a private security team.

For that, he was using wandering wizards. First, he would check their strength, and if the person’s strength was enough, he would use a Bloodline magic spell to enslave them.

His bloodline was the Golden Lion. The monster bloodline contained a specific magic spell within it.

It’s one of the common royal magic spells. Because of this magic spell, the royal family is able to rule the vast land.

Loyd was using the spell for personal reasons. He didn’t care about the background or other problems. In his mind, the people from the Capital would take care of it anyway.

So, he was not afraid of the consequences right now. He was just waiting for them to bring out the person.
