Chapter 1039: The Golden Angels (3).

The {Golden Angel Battlesuit} was built as a three-piece design set.

The helmet and visor, the chest piece and arm guards, and finally, the leg pieces and the boots. All these parts came together to form a compact armor around the bodies of Haru and the other Craftsmen.

At the moment, they looked less like actual humans, and more like hulking pieces of war machinery cutting through a tide of flesh and bones.

The armor made them look incredibly bulky, with each one standing at about eight feet in height.

They were equipped with hundreds of individual parts, each one engraved with hundreds of runes as well.

One of the other Beastmen fighters, Simeon, stretched his arm forward. A magic circle appeared in the glove of his armor and around the gauntlet. A furious ocean of flames rolled out of his open palm, engulfing a dozen beasts in it, turning them into cinders straight away.

"This is incredible. It worked exactly as I thought it would!" The excited gleam in Simeon’s eyes was hidden by the glare of his visor’s radiance.

"Don’t get too excited, Simeon. There’s still a lot more of them!"

With a buzzing sound, an enormous chainsaw made of mechanical parts and powered with electric blue sparks of mana ripped through several walls of flesh, painting the golden armor red.

"Stalin. Be careful."

"Sorry." Stalin, another one of the Beastmen craftsmen said. However, his magic chainsaw seemed to buzz even more furiously, grinding against chitinous armor for a moment, before shattering it into pieces and digging into flesh.

Each one of the {Golden Angel Battlesuits} were individually created by the five. Over the months, each of them had become a master of their craft. Creating a full body armor was simply a piece of cake for all of them.

However, these sets of armor were special.

Powered by mana cores they had gotten from Cain, as well as the hundreds of mana shards it consumed by the hour to stay active, the battlesuit was more or less the apex of what was possible to achieve with magical engineering. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Each one was equipped with three different sets of main weapons;

A mana blade, a specialized magic weapon, and a set of gloves that could cast basic area of effect spells, but on a large scale.

Not only that, but they were also engraved with runes and magic circles that increased the density, strength, weight as well as many other physical attributes of the parts.

All this was in order to produce effects that would drastically increase a regular human, or a human with weak combat blessings in battle. Combined with the abilities granted from the blessings, a human wearing the battlesuit was relatively as strong as a low-level Tier 1 human.

Due to the versatility, one could even argue they would be able to outclass a low-level Tier 1 combatant. Of course that was up for debate.

Besides the main weapons attached to the Battlesuits themselves, there were secondary attached weapons.

The air shook as Furio fired off shot after heavy shot from his double-barrelled magic firearm.

The recoil of the large magical armament would have been enough to splinter both his arms to shreds should he have tried to handle it without the armor.

However, with the thick steel fingers squeezing the trigger, Furio deftly reloaded, cocked it back, and fired into the sea of flesh again.

An enormous bloody hole was cut through the river of flesh while he only took half a step back to steady himself.

He couldn’t help but let out a sharp whistle,

"These are incredible."

With their backs against one another, the five were like a pack of well-oiled machines, mowing through the tide of Mutant Beasts.

In matters of defense, even the terrible claws of giant abominations left shallow grooves at worst. This was because the armor was also loaded with tons of protective runes and spells that increased the natural durability of the parts, as well as provided magic defense in the form of a barrier of golden light.

It was this barrier that gave the armors their signature golden hue.

The existence of the Battlesuits were top secret.

Even Cain was not aware of their existence.

Haru nodded, clearly pleased with himself,

"Even though they are still prototypes, I believe they have exceeded our expectations."

Suddenly, Haru felt an intense feeling of danger come from behind him.

A terrible shriek cut through the air.

A shadow was cast over him, bathing himself and his crew in darkness.

They all gripped their weapons tightly as from the tide of mutated creatures, something far more terrifying arose.

It was enormous, with black ridges in its body and what looked like a thousand eyes.

Its several hundred arms with long, bony fingers stretched down and towards Haru and his men.

The sound of a chainsaw whirling to life cut through the danger as Stalin ground the black arms into meat dust and blood splatters.

"What is that thing?" Stalin growled through the comms as he pushed against the force of the arms with everything he had.

Once he snapped out of it, Haru’s response was immediate;

"Prepare to retreat. We can’t kill that thing."

Although they could handle the weaker monsters, they absolutely couldn’t deal with anything that was Tier 2. Even a low-level one. Doing so was a death sentence.

The best they could do, would be to run as fast as they could.

Without any further urging needed, they all turned on their heels and began running away from the black, many-handed abomination.

Even as they ran, they continued to cut through the crowd of Mutant Creatures.

’They should be here any moment no—!’

Another loud crash echoed through the battlefield.

However, Haru wasn’t complaining. He slowly turned around.

"You guys tried one-upping us just now, didn’t you..." A voice cut through the dust cloud.

Haru grinned,

"What? Of course not."

Li shrugged then sighed.

He stood directly on top of the smoldering corpse of the many-handed abomination with a small smirk on his face.

"In that case, you wouldn’t mind if I steal the spotlight back, no?"
