Raylo grunted, feeling as if his body had instantly become a vessel for energy.

Raylo got out of bed barefoot, carefully walked around her, and pushed open the door to the balcony.

A rush of cool, crisp air, carrying the fragrance of mountain flora, greeted him.

He looked down upon his territory. The newly planned expansion area of Black Stone Town was awakening in the morning light. Workers were already starting their shifts, and smoke was rising from the residential chimneys. Everything was orderly and thriving.

A faint sound came from behind him. Raylo turned to meet a pair of pale golden feline eyes.

Moonlight had woken up at some point and silently padded up behind him, looking up at him now.

"Morning, little one."

Raylo smiled and rubbed her large head.

Moonlight closed her eyes in comfort and nuzzled his palm with her cheek before leaping gracefully onto the wide stone railing.

She sat perched there, her silver fur seeming to be coated in a layer of pale gold in the dawn light.

Just then, a small black head poked out from Raylo’s collar and let out a yawn. It was the sleepy-eyed Coal Ball.

It seemed to have mistaken Raylo’s pajamas for the coziest of nests, having crawled inside at some point last night.

Raylo chuckled, plucked it out of his collar, and placed it next to Moonlight.

Coal Ball groggily looked around. The moment it saw its big sister beside it, it perked up immediately, toddling over on its short legs to nuzzle affectionately against Moonlight’s body, a contented purr rumbling in its throat.

Moonlight glanced at it, and with a curl of her tail, gently corralled the little tagalong behind her.

The man and the two "cats" quietly enjoyed this rare moment of peace.

However, this tranquility was soon broken by the sound of hurried footsteps.

"My Lord!"

The Personal Guard Captain, Ed, appeared at the balcony entrance.

"The Pegasus Knights have spotted a caravan approaching Black Stone Castle. The situation is a bit... unusual."

Raylo raised an eyebrow and asked.

"Unusual?"

"Yes."
