Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton
Chapter 2020 - 1581: Conversing with Other God Stars
When a conclusion is logically consistent, then take it as a provisional conclusion until new clues overturn it; that’s the normal process of development. The real problem is when someone treats a provisional conclusion as the absolute truth and forbids anyone from overturning it...
Now that we have the skeleton, what we need to do is fill it in—but where are we supposed to find such a massive amount of increment?
"No wonder the Exotic Ghosts go all over the place hunting God Stars. Every Stacked Piece needs a colossal amount of increment. Three or five God Stars aren’t nearly enough to fill one." Negris did a rough calculation of the total required and couldn’t help clicking his tongue.
Don’t say three or five God Stars; even if you multiply that number by ten, it still might not be enough. After all, God Stars come in all sizes. If every one of them were a Giant God Star like Dis, and a young version at that, then maybe three to five would do.
But if you’re unlucky and they’re at the Little Fireman Level, or even only classified as Dark Stars, then you’d have to multiply that by a few dozen again. Where are you going to find that kind of astronomical increment? Are we supposed to be like the Exotic Ghosts, hunting other God Stars?
"Can we even beat other God Stars?" Negris turned to Ange and asked.
Ange shook his head.
Luomu Luo’er said helplessly, "So what if you can? Are you trying to egg the Lord on to go hunt other God Stars too? There are already two God-killers in this Void, and you want the Lord to be the third?"
"Huh? I was just asking, just asking." Negris said with an awkward laugh.
Right now Ange still can’t beat the God Stars here. His Stacked Clones only hold the total mass of ten God Stars; once he exceeds that, he splits.
At present, one of the clones has been stretched several times over because of Dis’s Stacked Piece, but without extra increment, Ange’s total doesn’t actually change much; it’s still at the ten-God-Star level. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Yet a total of ten God Stars is scraping the bottom in this world—he doesn’t even measure up to an Attached Star like Luomu Luo’er.
Luomu Luo’er has the total mass of sixteen Little Fireman Divine Stars. At the beginning, he lied and told everyone he was a Branch Lord, so everyone assumed the God Stars here were nothing special.
Who knew he was only an Attached Star? His main star has already blown, but the increment left over from the explosion of that main star is still at the level of more than fifty God Stars.
Not "total mass" left over, but "increment" left over—there’s a difference. An aged God Star like Dis has very little increment left, but that doesn’t stop him from being a Branch Lord, a Giant God Star.
In other words, when Luomu Luo’er’s main star exploded, most of its Star Flame and increment blasted away, and even then the remaining increment still had the strength of more than fifty God Stars. That’s the true level of a Branch Lord.
If that’s the level of a Branch Lord, ordinary God Stars aren’t far off. A guy like Luomu Luo’er can only fall to being an Attached Star, a Dark Star, a dwarf star.
Ange’s Stacked Clones are only at that level right now; being like the Exotic Ghosts and hunting other God Stars is out of the question.
"Then Ange should go back and absorb Luomu Luo’er." Negris suggested.
This made Luomu Luo’er’s eyes fly open; he glared at him furiously but didn’t say anything. After all, his main body no longer belongs to him. Anthony only spared his life because he’s relatively familiar with this world.
But Ange shook his head. "Anchor."
Luomu Luo’er’s main body is their anchor in this world. Without an anchor, Ange’s Thought can’t project here and no one can operate in this world.
They could project through the Triangle Gap, but then they wouldn’t be able to stray too far from the Gap.
They need Luomu Luo’er’s main body as the anchor, so those black mists can’t be absorbed, or the whole thing will become transparent.
"This won’t work, that won’t work—so how are we supposed to replenish the increment?" Negris asked, distressed.
"...That really is a baffling question. Whose increment can be ’replenished’? What God Star doesn’t continuously radiate its increment? When the increment’s used up, it withers. You still want to replenish it?" Luomu Luo’er complained:
"Not that it’s impossible. Don’t you guys have the Land of the Infinity? If you’ve got the ability, just make your own."
Everyone’s spirits lifted. "Make our own?"
"Yeah. The Land of the Infinity is the birthplace of life. All God Stars were gestated there. Just make them yourselves, no?" Luomu Luo’er said.
In fact, this isn’t the first time Luomu Luo’er has said this, and he’s not the only one; those Dark Stars from Mei Weiniya have said similar things.
The problem is: how exactly does the Land of the Infinity gestate God Stars? If it really can, why are there only a few left inside now? All these years and we haven’t seen any new God Stars born.
"How do we make a God Star?" Anthony asked.
"That I don’t know. It’s not like I’ve ever stayed in the Land of the Infinity. Even if you let me in now, with my current volume, I probably couldn’t see how new God Stars are gestated anyway." Luomu Luo’er spread his hands, clearly still hung up on having his main body stripped away.
Just then Ange suddenly said, "Dis... said... want forest... Divine Star Forest."
"Divine Star Forest? What Divine Star Forest? When did Dis ever say that?" Negris asked in shock.
"Information Storm... gestate God Star... need... a forest of God Stars... like... World Tree." Ange scratched his head, looking troubled.
Who could make sense of these broken-off phrases?
But Negris really deserves to be Ange’s mouthpiece. After thinking for a moment, he said, "You mean, to gestate God Stars, you need a forest-like environment made up of God Stars? Like the World Tree, where you need the growth of life in order to grow?"
Ange let out a breath of relief and nodded quickly.
"All this came from the information in Dis’s Information Storm?" Negris asked.
Ange nodded.
Ursman frowned. "The Star Movers migrated all the God Stars out—was it to destroy this kind of environment?
Everyone looked at each other. They felt like they’d just brushed against the truth.
"Kvada, why do I get the feeling someone wants to wipe out the entire Void? First they destroy the environment so God Stars can’t be gestated, then they go around hunting God Stars everywhere. Why? What good does wiping out the entire Void do them?" Negris said irritably.
"Lord, did Dis leave any other information? About anything else?" Anthony asked.
Ange nodded. "A lot. You ask."
Negris translated grumpily, "He’s saying there’s too much, he can’t read it all. You have to ask something specific and then he’ll look it up."
When the volume of information is too large, the information itself stops being the most important thing; the key is how to find the correct piece.
Anthony was just about to ask something when a dozen or so Star Descendants approached. One of them said, "Hello. Our main star wishes to discuss the recent Information Storm with you."
