Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton
Chapter 2012 - 1573: Don’t Move, He’s Watching
"I don’t know what triggered it, but I heard from Dodo that the main star keeps muttering: The Void is finished, the Void Lord has returned." Modric said.
"Void Lord? Who is it? The Exotic Ghost or the Time-Space Ancient Dragon?" Anthony and the others tensed up and quickly asked.
Now it was Modric’s turn to be puzzled, "Who are the Exotic Ghost and the Time-Space Ancient Dragon?"
"You’ve never heard of these two names?" Anthony asked.
Modric shook his head.
"Do you send the Star Descendants away from here to exchange information elsewhere?" Anthony asked.
Modric shook his head and after some questioning, it was discovered that this place had very typical declining civilization traits. Due to the aging of the main star, it no longer manages the Star Descendants, much less sends them out to exchange information, leaving everything to drift.
Without the help of the main star, the Star Descendants cannot leave the range of the main star’s light, so their information is highly closed off, living mixed amongst the life species, indifferent to the outside world.
On the contrary, humans and other life species are very pioneering, with many people piloting airships to explore outside, but most never return.
Even if some occasionally do return, they can’t find out anything because they’re far too removed from the Star Descendants in status, with no common social circles.
The whole Void knows about the Exotic Ghost and the Time-Space Ancient Dragon, yet they haven’t even heard of them.
"Does your main star not know either? That’s impossible, right?" Anthony asked.
"How would I know what the main star knows? I can’t hear anything it says. How would I know if the main star’s flickering carries information? I thought the God Star’s sunspots were erupting; all of this was told to me by Dodo." Modric said.
In the Soul Network, everyone was also exchanging opinions: "Dis definitely knows. Their God Stars communicate with Divine Light, but why have the other God Stars all hidden, yet he hasn’t? Does he not fear the Exotic Ghost?"
"Earlier, Luomu Luo’er said that all the God Stars incubating Star Souls in the Void have hidden, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now, as at least Dis hasn’t hidden."
"Could it be that the aged God Stars are not appealing to the Exotic Ghost and Time-Space Ancient Dragon?" someone said.
Anthony said, "Probably not, because now the Exotic Ghost’s stacked pieces have arrived, haven’t they?"
"The Exotic Ghost doesn’t need to increase, so whether the God Stars are exhausted is not important to it. As for the Time-Space Ancient Dragon, it definitely wouldn’t spare him, so there must be other reasons why he’s survived till now," Ursman said.
The group of people debated for half a day, and suddenly Negris said, "Could it be because they’re afraid of getting hurt? Luomu Luo’er’s main star could knock out the Exotic Ghost’s fragments, so when encountering such an old and fierce God Star, they’d rather let it go than come risk it."
Anthony slapped his thigh suddenly, "It’s possible, considering if left alone, he doesn’t even want to live, and if anyone has any designs on him, just getting close might provoke him to go down fighting, leaving them with serious injuries if they don’t die. Better to let him wither away, then come back to pick up the pieces."
That was the most reasonable explanation. After all, the Exotic Ghost only sent a ghost stack here, not the main body.
Having found a reasonable explanation, Anthony stopped dwelling on these issues and instead asked Modric, "Who are all these people in the carriages? Approximately how many people are there? What do you plan to do with them?"
Speaking of this, Modric’s face turned bitter, "They’re all my family and my followers with their families. I don’t know how to handle them, Dodo died, and I don’t have the ability to move them."
Anthony asked, "Even if you could move them, where would you plan to send them?"
Modric pointed in the original direction of advance and said, "In this direction, there’s a Broken Plane Belt. Inside, there are some large Shattered Planes to accommodate these people. If we could reach there, everyone should be safe."
Anthony exclaimed, "This direction? Are you sure it’s this direction?"
Modric nodded, puzzled, and asked, "What’s the problem?"
Anthony laughed bitterly, "It’s a big problem. Your main star’s Information Storm is going to erupt in that direction, and when it does, no soul or consciousness will survive under the information storm."
Modric looked puzzled, clearly not knowing what an Information Storm meant.
Anthony explained briefly, but Modric still looked half-doubtful.
When explaining an Information Storm to a human who can’t even grasp the concept, they surely won’t believe you. It’s like telling an insect that’s never seen winter about solid water; they’d never believe you.
Anthony didn’t care if he believed it or not, and had Ange inject a new consciousness into Modric’s White Crystal.
Guide the consciousness to manifest into a serpent-shaped Star Descendant, then let it hang up all the carriages. Only then did Anthony say, "Don’t go in that direction, go left, right, up, or down, just not in that direction."
Modric said awkwardly, "But there’s only shattered planes in that direction."
Anthony said, "Then just hide for now, go in those directions to hide, don’t block here. In a dozen hours, you’ll have plenty of shattered planes to choose from, if you’re still alive."
"Are you saying the main star will explode in a dozen hours?" Modric asked.
Anthony nodded, "That’s what it said."
Modric looked Anthony up and down skeptically, asking, "Dodo never heard the main star say that, so how did you hear it?"
It’s no wonder Modric doubted, the same main star that the nearby Star Descendants hadn’t heard, Anthony and these outsiders did, who would believe it?
Anthony shrugged, believing or not, it didn’t matter, these people wouldn’t live much longer anyway. At this distance, even if they weren’t directly hit by the Information Storm, they couldn’t withstand the shock of the God Star’s explosion.
Whether these people or others who have already distanced themselves, in a dozen hours they will be wiped out by the God Star’s shockwave. No matter how desperately they try to run, it’s no use.
Unless those Star Descendants abandon all carriages, avoid the direction of the Information Storm and use Star Shifting to flee, they too would be affected. But since their main star is exploding, all Star Descendants are already as good as dead; running wouldn’t matter.
Anthony couldn’t save them; he was just a dispatched stack piece, and he didn’t want to save them. These carriages mostly carried the rich and noble, pampered in times of peace, fleeing alone in danger, leaving more lives back to die.
If their main star wants to die, then let them all die together.
Saying nothing else, he waved Modric away with his people.
Just then, a giant beam of light shot out from the dark Abyss, chasing relentlessly at something at extreme speed, weaving left and right in the Void, dragging a long trail, finally striking its target millions of kilometers away from Anthony.
The moment it struck, there was no explosion, no shockwave, no flash, but the long tail vanished instantly, and the Void returned to silence.
"Could it have hit that ghost stack?" Negris whispered.
"Possible, what was that beam? It could even hit the ghost stack." Anthony whispered.
"Let’s go, see if there’s any ghost fragments." Negris said.
Anthony nodded, just about to fly towards that spot, when Ange, who had been silent, stopped him, "Don’t move, it’s watching."
