"Are you talking bad about me?" Sylvan Cheney warily stared at Kade Yuvan.

Kade was taken aback at first, then coaxed, "No, no, how would I dare talk bad about you, boss."

He picked up the trench coat Sylvan had dropped on the ground and placed it over Jasmine Yale’s arm. "It’s windy outside."

"Let him get some fresh air to sober up," Jasmine looked annoyed at the drunk man beside her.

As she looked at him, he looked up at her too.

They locked eyes, and Jasmine felt increasingly helpless.

Sylvan frowned, "What are you talking about? Where’s the booze?"

"Sylvan Cheney!" Jasmine raised her voice, clearly displeased, "Can you drink a little less from now on? Is it so much fun to drink? You’re harming yourself and others!"

Kade was startled; it was the first time he’d seen Jasmine lose her temper.

"Are you lecturing me?" Sylvan challenged.

"Yes, I’m lecturing you, so what, are you going to lecture me back? Sylvan Cheney, people like you, I can’t stand, so unambitious."

"Oh, lecture away then..." Sylvan lowered his eyes, his tone softening.

Kade patted his chest, relieved. He thought the boss would argue with Jasmine, but Jasmine lecturing the boss didn’t feel out of place at all, more like a couple married for years.

Kade leaned towards Jasmine and whispered, "Don’t be afraid, the boss becomes a paper tiger when drunk. Even if you hit him, he wouldn’t hit back, at least not with familiar people."

"What a character." Jasmine glanced at Sylvan, who was leaning beside her.

Sylvan raised his head, frowning, "What are you whispering about?"

"We’re not whispering, boss, I’m having Jasmine take you home."

Sylvan grabbed Jasmine’s arm, refusing to let go, only looking at her seriously, "Are you going to take advantage of me?"

"Take advantage of your sister," Jasmine retorted, annoyed, and grabbed him, leading him out of the bar.

Kade finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Getting Sylvan out of there, he could handle the bar matters.

Sylvan had caused quite a commotion tonight, smashing drinks and getting into fights; who knows how many expensive bottles were broken.

Kade shrugged; he probably couldn’t help Sylvan save any money.

Serves him right.

Jasmine had someone help support Sylvan, said goodbye to Kade, and left the bar.

Kade shook his head, the boss owed someone a favor again.

Between Erin Janus and Jasmine Yale, he leaned towards Jasmine; otherwise, he wouldn’t have called a pregnant woman over tonight.

But what use was his preference? The decision lay with the boss.

If the boss liked power and status, no matter how much he leaned towards Jasmine, it was useless; Erin Janus was the one with the most power and status.

Yet tonight, when drunk, Sylvan kept calling Jasmine’s name; Kade heard it.

At that time, as Sylvan drank, he muttered sadly to himself, "Don’t go, don’t leave me..."

It seems outsiders always see things only partially.

So, he decided to stay quietly on the sidelines.

He knew Sylvan hadn’t met with Jasmine these days, being busy with company matters, but also hadn’t gotten tangled with Erin.

Kade felt his mind couldn’t figure it out; after all, he had no experience in romance, how much could he guess?
