Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2265: Sylvan Cheney, Behave Yourself
About ten minutes passed. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
The bar owner finally came over; he was a middle-aged American man.
Kade Yuvan negotiated with him for about five minutes, and he agreed to let Jasmine Yale take Sylvan Cheney away, but Kade Yuvan had to stay behind to settle the compensation.
Kade Yuvan agreed.
He walked up to Jasmine Yale: "Jasmine, you take the boss and leave first; leave this to me."
"Drunk people are hard to deal with. I’ll stay at the bar, and you take him home," Jasmine Yale suggested.
"That’s not a good idea; the bar owner is somewhat assertive. If you, a pregnant woman, stay here, you’ll definitely be at a disadvantage. I can’t allow you to stay in such a place," Kade Yuvan patiently explained. "You should call a taxi to take the boss back to the apartment. If it comes to it, the housekeeping lady at the boss’s apartment can come over. Just give her a call."
"What’s the disadvantage? Isn’t it just a matter of compensation? As long as the owner gives me the bill, I can pay you tomorrow."
"But, Jasmine, we can’t let him charge excessively, right? Do you really think the boss is that wealthy?"
"Of course he’s wealthy. At least he can afford this much for drinks."
"Young girls, always asking for the moon, not understanding men’s hardships," Kade Yuvan sighed.
Jasmine Yale: "..."
After a moment of thought, she reluctantly agreed—not to Kade Yuvan, but because Sylvan Cheney was leaning against her nonstop, holding her arm.
Sylvan Cheney kept moving closer to Jasmine Yale, ignoring the people around them.
He nestled against her, trying to corner her against the wall.
The smell of alcohol wafted into Jasmine Yale’s nose, and she frowned: "Sylvan Cheney, be careful, I’m pregnant."
"Okay." Sylvan Cheney acknowledged, nodding, his gaze fixed on her, eyes dazed with intoxication.
Kade Yuvan said: "Jasmine, please take good care of the boss; he’s not aggressive around people he knows. I know that much."
Sylvan Cheney kept looking at Jasmine Yale, getting his face close several times as if he couldn’t see clearly.
The lighting was dim, especially in the corner of the room where it was even darker.
This kind of dim lighting easily caused endless illusions.
Jasmine Yale grabbed his hand, still cautiously: "Don’t move around."
"Okay." Sylvan Cheney obediently lowered his long lashes, and the sharp look in his eyes softened into a gentle mist.
He truly didn’t pull his hand away from hers, letting her hold it, also remaining silent.
The tall and imposing Sylvan Cheney now seemed like a child in front of Jasmine Yale, as Kade Yuvan had said, without any aggression.
Seeing that he had calmed down, Jasmine Yale then addressed Kade Yuvan: "Assistant Yuvan, please handle the bar matters. Don’t worry about saving him money; consider it as him paying for a lesson so he won’t repeat such behavior."
"I will handle it well. Please also take care of the boss. The boss usually handles his liquor well; today must’ve been too much," Kade Yuvan offered in defense of Sylvan Cheney. "When I arrived at the bar, he was already out of it. After that, he kept drinking with me for quite a while."
"Be careful on your way back; don’t drive if you’ve been drinking."
"I know, don’t worry, I’m not drunk," Kade Yuvan advised, "If anything happens, call me. Once I’m done here, I’ll message you. If you can’t handle it alone, feel free to call me for assistance."
