Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch - Chapter 70: Weapon Art
Few days later.
Currently, it was Weapon Art class.
All the students were once again standing inside the huge training facility. At this point, Noah had become familiar with this place.
And the instructor appointed for this class was none other than Victor Hale.
He stood in front of them, a dirt-blonde-haired man. He was around six feet tall with a well-built physique, wearing a black suit.
His sharp green eyes scanned the students, his face strict and composed.
He was one of the strongest heroes in the human empire. As strong as Morgana.
He was known for his mastery over multiple weapons.
A man from a commoner background, who had risen to become one of the fiercest figures in the world.
Noah had heard many things about him. How he could use multiple weapons effortlessly.
Victor stood with his hands behind his back.
His gaze swept across the entire class before he finally spoke.
His voice was calm, yet carried a natural authority.
"Weapon Arts are not just techniques."
The hall fell silent instantly.
"You all have weapons. Some of you swing them. Some of you stab. Some of you rely on brute strength. Some on speed."
He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"But none of that matters if you do not understand your weapon."
He began walking slowly in front of them.
"The difference between a beginner and a true combatant is not talent. It is understanding."
He stopped. Then continued, "A sword is not just for cutting. A spear is not just for thrusting. A bow is not just for shooting arrows."
His gaze hardened.
"A weapon is an extension of your body. And your body is an extension of your intent."
Some students unconsciously straightened their posture.
Victor continued.
"A martial manual is not just a set of instructions. It is the experience of someone who has already walked the path you are trying to walk."
He raised one finger. "It teaches you efficiency."
Another finger. "It teaches you control. And most importantly... it teaches you how to survive."
His eyes moved across the class again. "Many of you think power comes from strength or mana."
He shook his head slightly. "Power comes from application."
He turned and pointed toward the weapon racks placed at the side of the hall.
"A weak strike at the right time is more deadly than a powerful strike at the wrong time."
Silence filled the hall.
Even Noah was listening seriously now.
Victor crossed his arms. "For bow users... your weapon is not just your hands."
"You must understand distance. Wind. Timing. Movement."
"A single arrow... if used correctly... can decide the outcome of a battle before it even begins."
He shifted his gaze.
"For close combat users... positioning matters more than strength."
"You step wrong once... and you die."
A cold chill ran through some of the students.
Victor’s voice remained steady. "You will learn many things in this academy. Spells, techniques, and theory."
"But without proper weapon mastery... all of it is meaningless in real combat."
He let those words sink in. Then, after a brief pause, his tone changed slightly. "Now."
He turned fully toward the class. "I will be assigning each of you a martial art manual."
Murmurs spread instantly.
Victor raised his hand. "Silence."
The murmurs stopped immediately. "This is not optional."
His voice turned firm. "It is compulsory to learn the martial art I give you."
"If you already possess a strong manual for your main weapon... then you will receive one for your secondary weapon."
He looked at them one by one. "I do not care about your status. Noble or commoner. Talent or no talent."
"I will decide what suits you." Then he called out the first name.
"Damien Ashworth."
Damien stepped forward calmly.
Victor looked at him for a moment.
"Primary weapon?"
"Sword."
"Secondary?"
"None."
Victor nodded slightly. "You already possess a strong sword foundation."
He extended his hand. A faint glow appeared, and a manual materialized. "You will take this."
Damien received it.
"[Twin Edge Flow]. A dual-blade combat style. You will begin learning it. Dual short swords. It will be easy since you only have one profession."
Damien nodded. "Yes, Instructor."
"Next. Kaelan Nighfall."
Just like that, names were called.
Victor’s gaze shifted as it was Noah’s turn.
"Noah Eldritch."
Noah stepped forward. Victor looked at him for a longer time than others.
His sharp green eyes seemed to analyze everything.
"What profession? I mean, which weapon you use as primary weapon among them."
After thinking for a moment, Noah decided to lie.
"Spear. And I have a very good weapon art for it."
"Hmm... Secondary?"
Noah paused slightly. "...bow."
Victor’s gaze sharpened slightly. He observed Noah for a while. "Okay. Take this one."
He pulled out a manual from his storage ring and handed it to Noah.
Noah took it and looked at the name.
[Flowing String Archery]
"Yes, Instructor. Thank you for this."
He bowed to him slightly as a gesture of gratitude.
Victor looked at him one last time before speaking.
"Do not waste it."
Noah gave a slight nod.
Then Noah went back, while Victor continued distributing. After completing it, Victor stepped back and looked at the entire class.
"You all have one week."
His voice turned cold again. "Show me results."
Silence filled the hall once more. The real training had just begun.
--
"Alright! Now it’s time to try something new."
Currently, Noah was holding a bow in his hand.
Yes, a bow.
The reason why he told Victor that he uses a bow as a secondary weapon was simple.
He had gotten a new profession called Combatant.
Where he could use most weapons at a basic level.
As his profession level increased, his proficiency would increase.
The manual art he had gotten worked on all weapons that had a blade. So getting a manual for a spear, sword, or any other weapon having a blade was not worth it.
So he chose a weapon on which his Frozen Lotus Blade Art was not usable.
"It’s my first time trying to use a bow. Let’s practice first and then try to learn my new martial art manual."
