Eternal Life: I Can Control My Essence Qi
Chapter 359 - 263: The Path of the Three Souls
"Other Zhuoxiu tribes?"
Nether Abyss Ancestor hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and said:
"That’s probably unlikely."
"Although this Underworld is vast, it ultimately has boundaries. It’s just that our time is tight, and we’re suppressed by the Primordial Magnetic Power, making it difficult to explore."
"This place barely sustains a Wujin Tribe, and I’m afraid it can’t support other Zhuoxiu tribes."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Yao’s expression shifted slightly:
"Then could there be similar underground worlds elsewhere?"
Nether Abyss Ancestor chuckled and responded:
"I’ve thought about this question too, but there should be none."
"If there were numerous subterranean worlds within the Hundred Countries of Central Plains, the existence of Zhuoxiu tribes would have long been known. How could it remain a secret until today?"
"Moreover, I’ve heard no similar rumors elsewhere."
When Zhang Yao heard this, he nodded in agreement:
"What Fellow Daoist Mingyuan says makes sense."
"It seems that this deep underground world in Mo Yuan is truly a coincidence. It’s just unclear how the Wujin Tribe came to be..."
As they continued their flight and chatted, they quickly traveled several hundred miles.
It must be said, without the ever-present attacks of the Black Death Beast and underground fierce beasts, this last leg of the journey was much more relaxed.
"We’ve arrived!"
Nether Abyss Ancestor suddenly slowed his Escape Light, pointing to a building in the distance.
Zhang Yao looked up and saw a watchtower built on a cliff, roughly three or four zhang tall, with indistinct figures moving about, though there were no torches or fire basins for illumination.
The beings living in the Underworld, including the residents of the Zhuoxiu Tribe, naturally possess darkvision.
"Let’s go!"
Nether Abyss Ancestor called out, and he and Zhang Yao flew towards it.
"Halt!"
A crisp voice rang out, surprisingly using the same common language as the Surface World.
Zhang Yao glanced around and saw several figures standing on a platform at the top of the watchtower.
Their appearance was almost identical to the Human Race of the Surface World, but they had short hair, no hairpins or hair clasps, appearing quite spry. Their attire differed vastly, made of some unknown material with very few accessories.
Among the tribe’s people:
The leader was a young man in splendid dark-golden attire, with handsome features and an unknown animal bone hanging from his waist, clearly indicating his noble status and profound aura.
"Young Clan Leader Wuhe?"
Nether Abyss Ancestor seemed to recognize him, and was taken aback:
"I didn’t expect you to personally come?"
"Hahaha..."
The young man called Young Clan Leader Wuhe laughed heartily and said:
"Mr. Mingyuan, it’s been many years."
"My father sensed your arrival and specifically sent me here to wait for you. Finally, we meet."
"The Patriarch is truly of mighty divine power."
Nether Abyss Ancestor complimented, then pointed to Zhang Yao beside him, introducing:
"This is my good friend, Elder Qingxu. We’ve journeyed through countless hardships together to finally reach here."
Wuhe nodded in acknowledgment, looked towards Zhang Yao, and saluted:
"So it is Mr. Qingxu, a pleasure to meet you today."
"The pleasure is mine, Young Clan Leader is too kind."
Zhang Yao replied courteously, bowing in return.
"Come, let’s head inside first, my father is still waiting."
Wuhe gestured and led Nether Abyss Ancestor and Zhang Yao past the watchtower, flying inward.
During the flight:
Zhang Yao observed keenly that Wuhe’s Escape Light was entirely different from theirs, resembling a drifting cloud beneath his feet, exuding a powerful aura.
"Boom! Boom!"...
As their Escape Light roared past, they flew over a dozen or so watchtowers of varying sizes.
It wasn’t until they’d passed numerous watchtowers that they saw sporadic buildings, distinct from the Surface World’s various pavilions and towers, possessing an exotic style.
As they delved deeper, the buildings grew more numerous, eventually forming an array in the distance, taking the shape of a town settlement.
Varied noises faintly reached them, with bustling crowds moving among the diverse structures, almost making Zhang Yao think he had arrived at a mundane Surface World town, if not for the lack of any lights.
"The various sights of the Wujin Tribe have truly broadened my horizons."
After Zhang Yao exclaimed in admiration, he inquired further:
"How many people are there in the Wujin Tribe?"
Wuhe casually replied:
"As of now, there are roughly 1.3 million."
Zhang Yao nodded slightly, subtly using his Divine Thought to scan the settlement below, but was quickly taken aback.
"Could it be..."
In his Divine Thought’s perception, although the many tribe members below had no magical power, their auras far surpassed the ordinary.
Even a child of four or five exhibited strength in their movements that far exceeded a robust adult from the Surface World.
And with just a brief glimpse, he detected many with concealed auras comparable to those at the Qi Refining Stage or even the Foundation Establishment Stage, with several riding cloud-like Escape Lights similar to Wuhe’s, traversing above the tribe.
"Is this a feature of the Zhuoxiu Tribe?"
He felt a hint of surprise and doubt, but outwardly remained composed, following Wuhe onward.
Soon:
Zhang Yao and Nether Abyss Ancestor, under Wuhe’s lead, arrived at a solemn and dignified cluster of dark-golden buildings, seemingly the core area of the Wujin Tribe.
"Please follow me."
Wuhe led them into a palace-like structure, where they saw a figure seated on a high-backed throne.
The figure was around forty or fifty years old, tall and strong, with bulging muscles. He had bushy sideburns and hair, looking like a savage bear from a distance, his aura imposing and unabashedly flaunting.
"This!"
Zhang Yao’s heart froze, every hair on his body slightly stood up, feeling a sense of threat like needles on his back, as if facing a primordial beast.
He immediately realized that the Wujin tribe leader in front of him was a remarkable warrior, possibly the strongest he had ever seen!
"Greetings, Wu Luo Chief."
Nether Abyss Ancestor bowed respectfully, Zhang Yao quickly followed suit.
"No need for formalities."
Wu Luo waved his hand casually, then looked intently at Nether Abyss Ancestor:
"I can sense that there’s more than one ’Black Death Messenger’ on you, right?"
"Yes, Chief, your insight is indeed sharp."
Nether Abyss Ancestor flattered before saying:
"I killed a Soul Tamer on the way."
"Hm."
Wu Luo nodded, not seeming to care, and said:
"Soon, someone will take you to remove the Black Death Messenger from your body."
"And the reward promised to you, I will not go back on my word. In addition to the two opportunities for ’Earth Milk Bathing Body,’ you’ll be allowed to choose two treasures from the ’Spiritual Energy Secret Vault.’
At this, he glanced at Zhang Yao beside him and said:
"This person is your companion, are you planning to use your other opportunity of Earth Milk Bathing Body on him?"
"Yes."
Nether Abyss Ancestor nodded.
"Then go ahead, don’t waste time."
Wu Luo spoke steadily:
"Your time is very precious and cannot be delayed."
"Thank you, Chief."
Nether Abyss Ancestor bowed again and then exited the hall with Wuhe, Zhang Yao closely following behind.
"Mr. Mingyuan, please follow me."
A warrior guarding the hall stepped forward and took away Nether Abyss Ancestor.
Wuhe looked at Zhang Yao and smiled:
"The process of removing the Black Death Messenger will last at least two hours."
"Mr. Qingxu, if you don’t mind, why don’t you come to my place first?"
"Alright, courtesy would be better than following one’s wishes."
Zhang Yao gladly nodded.
He originally intended to explore the path of Zhuoxiu cultivation, to learn from each other and pave the way for the future. Wuhe’s invitation was just what he wanted.
Soon, he followed Wuhe through several underground buildings to his home.
Wuhe’s home did not have any servants or maids. He personally served a drink similar to clear tea, casually chatting with Zhang Yao.
"Young Clan Leader."
After chatting for a while, Zhang Yao couldn’t hold back and asked:
"I heard from Fellow Daoist Mingyuan that the Wujin Tribe practices the Path of Zhuoxiu Technique, which is vastly different from the cultivation methods in the Surface World."
"I’m very curious about this, and wonder if you could enlighten me?"
"Oh?"
Wuhe gave him a surprised look:
"Mr. Qingxu’s request is indeed quite rare."
"As far as I know, Pure and Muddy Qi are incompatible like water and fire. How could you be interested in our path of Zhuoxiu Technique?"
Throughout countless ages, those coming to the Wujin Tribe from the Surface World as cultivators were not just one or two.
But among so many cultivators, those interested in the path of Zhuoxiu Technique were few and far between. After all, no one would abandon the fundamental for the trivial.
Zhang Yao answered calmly:
"It’s just out of curiosity. I hope the Young Clan Leader can enlighten me."
"No problem."
Wuhe readily agreed with a smile:
"This is not some great secret, it is just common knowledge within my tribe."
He paused slightly, as if organizing his words, and after a while said:
"The Zhuoxiu Technique of my Wujin Tribe follows the ancient tradition of the ’Path of the Three Spirits.’
"The so-called Path of the Three Spirits refers to three different realms: ’Power Soul,’ ’Qi Soul,’ and ’Divine Soul.’ The tribal ancestors believed..."
He elaborated on the origin and composition of the Path of the Three Spirits, and Zhang Yao listened with careful patience.
The Zhuoxiu Technique adhering to the Path of the Three Spirits indeed had a huge difference from the cultivators’ philosophy, greatly broadening his perspective.
"Mr. Qingxu."
After Wuhe finished his explanation, he then spoke:
"Please wait a moment, I’ll go get you a book."
Saying this, he rose and went to the library to search, soon returning with a delicate animal skin tome.
"This is the ’Three Spirits Sensing Technique’ used in our tribe to enlighten young children, also created by tribal ancestors."
"The Path of the Three Spirits is vast and profound, what I just explained might not be comprehensive. For more detailed questions, sir can look through this book, which might solve your mysteries."
"Thank you, Young Clan Leader."
Zhang Yao courteously bowed before he received the animal skin book from Wuhe.
The entire animal skin book was around dozens of pages, made from an unknown beast skin material, each page as thick as paper, yet very durable.
Zhang Yao opened this ’Three Spirits Sensing Technique,’ carefully reading it word by word, and soon became immersed.
"The Path of the Three Spirits, so this is how it is..."
