Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2328 - 2329: New Questions
Perhaps it was Agunas moving matters forward in secret, or maybe Feng Yuan’s reputation had already reached the Alliance, because the speed of issuing the Snowfield Pass was faster than they expected.
Even so, Feng Yuan didn’t plan to travel late at night. It wasn’t until the next day, after having the local specialty breakfast in Luolga City, that Feng Yuan set off with Agunas and the others towards the Cave of Garomar where they had found clues.
With the Snowfield Pass in hand, the group did not waste time on the road. Agunas directly used a Space Gate to bring Feng Yuan to the entrance of the Cave of Garomar.
Since they had reported prior, the sudden appearance at the entrance via the Space Gate did not cause the stationed troops at the Cave of Garomar entrance to be overly vigilant.
"This is the Cave of Garomar. Although I know about it, it’s the first time seeing it in person."
Looking at the gigantic entrance of the Cave of Garomar, Feng Yuan couldn’t help but marvel. The Northern Snow Plain is very unique; besides the complex environment, the enormous and intricate underground caverns are one of its main features.
Moreover, unlike the surface, the ecological environment within these underground caverns is not necessarily the same, each has its own unique environment.
This is why many Beastmasters like to explore these underground caverns in the Northern Snow Plain, for they can discover all sorts of oddities, as well as rare Spiritual Medicines and Spirit Materials.
With the Snowfield Pass, Feng Yuan and the others did not need to queue for inspection at the entrance and instead took a special passage directly into the Cave of Garomar.
The Cave of Garomar is a massive underground cavern cluster in the Northern Snow Plain, with various unique environments. Hence, for safety reasons, Beastmasters entering the Cave of Garomar must undergo a strength assessment.
However, Feng Yuan was not subject to such requirements; after all, with a Divine Beast by his side, no one doubted his strength.
"This place really is big."
Looking at the colossal dome of the main cavern, Feng Yuan remarked. The main cavern was defined by humans, yet the entire internal structure of the Cave of Garomar is complex, with many unexplored spots.
Just in the regions known to humans, the main cavern is indeed the largest part, with numerous stone pillars standing tall. These pillars support the structure of the cavern; otherwise, given its size comparable to half of Maomu City, even the sturdiest rock wouldn’t hold out for long.
"These pillars don’t quite look naturally formed."
Examining the massive pillars, Feng Yuan always felt that these structures didn’t seem like naturally formed stone columns.
"According to records, the Cave of Garomar’s main cavern was not originally this big; much of it had collapsed. Later, Salonto responded to Coletos’s request for repair and reinforcement, forming the scale seen now."
"Therefore, these pillars should have been built during that period. The absence of any lingering power likely relates to the passage of time, rendering power from Spirit Beasts embedded in the pillars dispersed."
Agunas swished its tail as it explained. Before it could urge Feng Yuan to move to the clue discovery location, Feng Yuan furrowed his brow and said:
"Salonto? If I recall correctly, they seem connected with Mythical Era relics, right?"
Feng Yuan’s question made Agunas pause; it hadn’t remembered this association. Veronia recalled and said:
"Indeed, it’s true. Salonto is a nation formed by contemporary humans researching the Mythical Era. If it’s them, it’s really hard to say if there could be issues, after all, those folks aren’t as reliable as the Mythical Remnants."
Before discovering the Kashantuosi Remnants, Veronia didn’t care about this group of people. Since they hadn’t experienced the Mythical Era, even using remnants would hardly reconstruct anything special.
But if Kashantuosi Remnants were behind their actions, no one could predict what might happen. Those beings could even lead Mythological Remnants to create Parallel Worlds, so who knows what they might guide Salontos into doing.
"It’s looking more troublesome."
Scrutinizing the pillars, Veronia remarked, feeling suspicious whether the traces Agunas found were left by Salontos—or rather, traces left when Kashantuosi Remnants guided Salontos.
Agunas, naturally considering this possibility, didn’t look well, recognizing the situation was more complex than originally thought.
Though Salonto may not exist as long as other dynasties in terms of time, their manpower and scope of activities are uncertain.
Moreover, even though traces of Kashantuosi Remnant activities have been found in the Divine Land Region, this doesn’t mean other regions are safe.
At least existing evidence proves Kashantuosi Remnants aren’t honest folks; the consequences of their intentions could be dire.
"Currently, there’s no definite evidence linking Kashantuosi Remnants with Salontos, but should we investigate here too?"
Looking at Agunas, Feng Yuan inquired. This place, if left unchecked, might pose problems. Of course, Feng Yuan might be overthinking, and perhaps the issues aren’t as extensive.
"Let’s investigate, it won’t take long."
Agunas said with a swish of its tail. Without clear investigation, they wouldn’t feel at ease, although the probability of issues isn’t particularly high, better safe than sorry.
For convenience, Agunas directly contacted the Cave of Garomar’s management for authorization to conduct an in-depth investigation of the main cavern.
"Do you really think there’s a problem here?"
Veronia asked Feng Yuan curiously. After some thought, Feng Yuan shook his head and said:
"Not sure, on the surface, it seems normal; however, I feel something’s off. Coletos’s heritage spans generations, apart from the unique Northern Snow Plain environment, their rulers are a key factor."
"Yet, their rulers chose to seek cooperation and repair the collapsed sections of the Cave of Garomar. What benefits does this provide?"
Feng Yuan did not believe this was a reckless decision. Coletos has persisted from the Dynasty Era to the present, maintaining cultural and heritage continuity despite several institutional changes.
They shouldn’t make impulsive decisions lightly; whatever their choices, there must be advantages, visible or not.
No matter how much he pondered, Feng Yuan couldn’t fathom what advantage it was.
Though the Northern Snow Plain kingdoms like developing underground spaces, repairing and reinforcing collapsed areas, to Feng Yuan, costs far exceed finding natural underground spaces or creating their own.
Considering this, one cannot deny potential Kashantuosi Remnant influence.
Their motives, however, remain elusive.
What’s truly deserving in the Cave of Garomar?
Due to a lack of understanding of Kashantuosi Remnants, Feng Yuan realized he couldn’t answer any of these questions.
Veronia thought for a moment and said:
"It’s hard to say. Based on Coletos’s history, they didn’t experience significant technological advances. Additionally, their kingdom’s history was steady during this period."
"The only affecting factor might be the super blizzard striking the northern snow plain. Nonetheless, logically, this shouldn’t prompt repairs to the Cave of Garomar."
Like Feng Yuan, Veronia couldn’t understand the rationale for possible benefits from such behaviors.
Could it be due to Kashantuosi Remnants’ promises?
Such matters not appearing in historical records clearly indicate underlying issues—if only for personal gain, hints should exist within the historical context.
"Super Blizzard? True, that blizzard halted an impending Snow Domain battle, potentially prompting the search for larger underground spaces."
"However, the Cave of Garomar’s internal plant environment isn’t conducive for growing crops, hence not ideal for refuge."
The more Feng Yuan contemplated, the more perplexing it became; truly a vexing situation.
