Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2327 - 2328: Crystal Ice Square
Although Crystal Ice Square has specifically changed its name, its architectural planning is still quite different from conventional squares; the entire Crystal Ice Square is very open, with hardly any buildings in the main area.
Moreover, the passage in the main area is very spacious, and the road leading out of the city is of the same size. Those 12-lane roads look imposing up close.
"These lanes are really extravagant, so wide, but if used as a road for expeditions, it feels alright."
Feng Yuan looked at the snowfield outside the city covered in snow and said, the width seemed unnecessary to him, but if it’s for morale, it’s not incomprehensible.
This wide road can accommodate formations to easily pass through, placed in the Dynasty Era, its visual effect would certainly be impressive, but in modern times, it doesn’t work as well; after all, even modern armies with beast tamers haven’t achieved complete uniformity, those scattered formations still don’t look quite right.
Not to mention that the Great Xia doesn’t have any intentions toward the Northern Snow Plain; that area really isn’t suitable for human survival, at least, in other areas they can live very well, with no need to exert effort to occupy Northern Snow Plain land, and at the same time, have to spend great effort slowly transforming it into habitable land.
"Oh~ so much food looks quite delicious~"
Just a brief gaze at the snowfield, and Feng Yuan diverted his attention to the food; there’s no help for it, compared to the snowfield which they don’t know how long they have to wait in, these foods unique to the Northern Territory seem to Feng Yuan like waiting treasure chests waiting to be opened.
"I’ve decided~ today’s food is all sorts of snacks~"
Feng Yuan said as he dragged Xiao Ji and them to those stalls that had already started attracting customers to purchase snacks he fancied.
Agunas didn’t stop Feng Yuan’s idea because today they also couldn’t do anything else; staying in Luolga City, aside from tasting snacks, there doesn’t seem to be anything else to do.
"Aren’t you coming?"
Noticing Agunas and them didn’t follow, Feng Yuan waved at them with some doubt, smiled slightly, and Veronia transformed into a human form and said with an umbrella:
"We can try it."
Swishing its tail, Agunas didn’t join their idea; rather than satisfying its appetite, it had other matters to attend to.
Unlike Feng Yuan, as a Divine Beast from the Mythical Era, it needed to handle old continental affairs, it would not have come to ask Feng Yuan for help if it weren’t for suspicions involving Kashantuosi Remnants.
On that Old World Continent, just as Feng Yuan guessed, although they have divine beasts among their allies, joining the alliance is a long journey; whether it’s the internal order and system reconstruction, or how to adapt to the new Spirit Beast system after joining the alliance, all of it requires time to slowly integrate.
Agunas doesn’t believe Feng Yuan is making trouble for them because these descendants of the Mythological Remnants are innocent, at least they don’t bear obvious sins.
This is completely different from those Mythological Remnants extinguished alongside parallel worlds; such sins are judged by the world itself, cannot be falsified, and are relatively just.
Just, Agunas truly couldn’t figure out what those Kashantuosi Remnants were up to.
Hopefully, those people aren’t seeking revenge or destruction in reality due to the demise of the Mythical Era; otherwise, it would be quite troublesome.
"Hehe~ this is very tasty~"
Using a stick to fork a piece of roasted ice radish, Feng Yuan held it up to Xiao Ji’s face; Xiao Ji glanced at Feng Yuan and protested; it wasn’t blind, that suspicious red liquid dripping down was definitely chili oil!
It didn’t like this; if it were a Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, it might happily swallow it down, but Xiao Ji would not fall for it. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Seeing Xiao Ji refuse to eat, Feng Yuan helplessly swallowed the roasted ice radish and said:
"Such a pity, it’s so sweet it’s sickly sweet."
Xiao Ji turned its head, ignoring Feng Yuan, while the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound probed and looked curiously at Feng Yuan; it hadn’t tried the roasted ice radish, chili oil wasn’t something the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound disliked.
Or rather, for Fire Attribute Spirit Beasts, chili oil is generally liked by them, except for a few special and unconventional ones.
After all, there will always be individuals differing from their kind, and although chili oil is generally liked by fire-element spirit beasts, to some it’s quite repugnant.
Their taste differs from their kin, but it’s not a big deal.
"Here, sweet. Don’t assume it’s spicy."
Feng Yuan wasn’t stingy, teasing Xiao Ji was just to amuse himself; he used a stick to poke a larger roasted ice radish into the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s mouth, and its expression looked peculiar.
The Fluffy Fire Wolfhound didn’t dislike sweets; as long as the flavor wasn’t too "personal," it considered them tasty anyway.
But even though Feng Yuan warned it, the visual effect led it to misjudge the radish would be spicy; the result of a bite was a crunchy texture and a taste so sweet it felt strange.
Rather than being unpalatable, it was more about a sense of disappointment due to mismatched expectations.
Xiao Ji, seeing the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound’s weird reaction, looked skeptically at Feng Yuan, and at this point, Xiao Ji somewhat believed it was really sweet.
After all, the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound didn’t dislike spicy, rather it quite liked it.
"Want to try?"
Feng Yuan waved a stick at Xiao Ji, chuckling, while Veronia sipped hot tea and watched Feng Yuan feed Xiao Ji and the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound.
Though he had purchased quite a few snacks, Feng Yuan mostly shared them with Xiao Ji and the others, so the pile of food didn’t fill Feng Yuan completely.
"Aren’t you joining the fun?"
Turning to Tamur, Veronia curiously asked; it noticed the hint of envy in Tamur’s eyes.
In response, it felt empathetic; it’s not impossible to befriend ordinary humans, but... it’s difficult because many come seeking the unique status of Divine Pact Makers.
Their motives aren’t pure, making it hard for them to easily accept, and Feng Yuan certainly wasn’t one of those people.
Just joking around, in terms of strength, he was far stronger; before him, they could only consider themselves equal as friends.
Veronia wasn’t very keen on finding more friends because of the Mythical Era’s events; besides, it had lots of fun with the Spirit Beasts of Maomu Academy’s teachers.
In contrast, Tamur was much more reclusive; even when returning to Maomu Academy with them, it rarely actively engaged with Maomu Academy’s Spirit Beasts.
Of course, Veronia occasionally dragged it to play with those Spirit Beasts, but as for seeking out humans?
Forget it, neither Veronia nor Tamur liked interacting with strangers; after all, one had experienced the Mythical Era’s betrayal, and the other could witness everything from the Mythical Era.
The more they understood, the more they loathed those insincere relationships; as divine beasts, they had the confidence to act this way.
"Why go?"
Tamur looked at Veronia in confusion as if puzzled; chuckling softly, Veronia didn’t expose it but instead gazed at the dark clouds in the sky and said:
"Regarding the Old World, what do you think?"
"I act only when necessary."
"Hmph, you understand what I mean; they also need divine beasts’ shelter; I can’t do it because I once represented Mitradite, so sheltering them now doesn’t pass the inner barrier."
"On the contrary, aren’t you considering sheltering one or two countries?"
"Let nature take its course, and are you so sure a clash will occur?"
Tamur looked quizzically at Veronia; it couldn’t see the future of the Old World, not just because of the distance, but also its unwillingness to.
Yet this doesn’t mean it knew nothing; Tamur felt that dividing into multiple countries like most other continents isn’t likely for the Old World.
After all, no matter what, they were once a civilization, a race.
"Why not possible? When you asked this, I realized you’ve only seen everything from the Mythical Era as an observer."
"You actually still belong to the modern era; you’re different from us; changing perspective, you just obtained a history book that records all information about our Mythical Era."
"What do you want to say?"
Looking at Veronia, Tamur swayed with some discomfort; chuckling softly, Veronia said:
"Forget about the Mythical Era; for you, it’s just a story. You should try and embrace this world~"
