Weeks went by since then, Annie and the others were adjusting well to their new forms.

Annie especially, she was the first Alpha of the pack. Even though she was still a level 1 werewolf.

She was already as strong as the first 13 who were now delta werewolves. A few things had happened in the past week.

Suzie officially started the mercenary guild and registered it in the black market governance.

Things were not very strict here so it was easy, they didn’t ask much questions. Then she sent a few werewolves to advertise it.

They hadn’t received a single mission or mercenary who was looking to join. Adrian also started his garden again.

It was much larger this time and he planned to use more of his blood to speed up the growth of the seeds.

This garden became Annie’s playground, she dismissed everybody to take care of it herself.

Currently the two of them were cuddled together on his bed half naked. " Next week will be your birthday, are you planning anything?"

She asked, Adrian shook his head, he would be turning 18 the following week but he didn’t want any party.

" I would prefer not to, also please don’t tell the others it’s my birthday, you know Suzie and those girls will go nut."

She giggled, " Yeah, they are a lot aren’t they?" Suzie seemed to have picked her lineage deliberately.

All four of those girls including Naija were die hard fans of his to the point of it being no different from worship.

With the exception of Naija who they proclaimed a priestess of Adrian for some reason.

The other three became maids of his, more specifically of Annie because Suzie chose to take care of him by herself.

Even though Adrian didn’t need to eat as often she still cooked and brought food for him three times a day.

Since he can’t eat raw bleeding hearts in front of the Ladros family. She also brings him another meal after every single one.

Fortunately now he had Annie to share those heart meals with and also share the uncomfortable way those fanatics look at him.

Annie did not like it, she had tried repeatedly over the past week to have them call her by her name instead of great lady or your highness.

Of course she failed miserably but it didn’t seem like she would be giving up any time soon.

Knock knock knock, " My lord, my lady, it’s time for breakfast." One of the maids from Suzie’s lineage knocked on their door.

They both sighed, they weren’t hungry but Suzie didn’t really take no for an answer. She would just sulk the entire day.

Adrian had no problem with ignoring her but Annie hadn’t changed even after becoming a werewolf.

She still cared too much about other people’s feelings. They woke up, got dressed and went to eat.

They found her family already waiting there. " So, what the plans for us Adrian boy?" Mr Ladros asked.

" I’ve had Suzie arrange thing for you but you’ll have to stay here for the rest of this month.

Next month when the two of you have become werewolves as well, you’ll move back to the outside world."

Annie froze, " Isn’t it dangerous out there, aren’t the vampires still looking for you?" She asked with a worried voice.

He nodded, " It’s probably more than just vampires but the kids can’t stay here forever, they need school and to grow up around other children their age.

I’ll try to contact Meggie before then and see if she can make more rings for us. Besides, it’s me they’re looking for.

As long as your family moves far away from Lagos, they’ll probably be fine."

She didn’t argue but it was obvious she was still reluctant to let them go. They had their breakfast and each went to do their thing.

Adrian left the task of contacting the heart supplier from last time to Sam and John but this time they changed things.

Instead of hearts they requested the entire bodies. He was to give them complete corpses.

The conditions were that even if the bodies were damaged, the organs should remain intact.

The dealer was more than happy to agree based on the price they were offering. Then he sent Louis, Marcus and Charlie to contact the witches.

Even here in the black market, the witches were a force to be reckoned with. They were split into two groups.

The witches of the nine covenants who were mainstream and the dark witches. While the dark witches were fewer in numbers.

They were much stronger individually so overall the two groups had relative levels of power and influence.

What Adrian wanted was to have a deal with both groups. He would provide them with high quality herbs for money.

In exchange, mercenaries would gain priority in buying potions and enchanted objects from the witches.

Why was he doing this you wonder? It was another way to incentivise mercenaries to join because they needed a cover.

Basically meat shields as every mercenary will sign a blood oath to assist the mercenary guild in its time of need.

Things progressed smoothly, his birthday came and went. Annie had kept her promise and not told anybody.

But she did give him a present in the form of herself. That night was the first time they did it.

It was the first for both of them, their mate’s bond made things worse as soon as they connected.

They couldn’t let go of each other and everybody was forced to listen to the two of them.

Annie’s moans and wolf howls were heard throughout the entire building and they literally shook the building with their actions.

They lasted the entire night, the following morning they were forced to get a new and stronger bed.

The floor of their room was cracked, had he not held it up using telekinesis, it would’ve crumbled.

During breakfast, Annie’s mother kept glaring at her daughter and giving her a soft smile.

Annie was humming the entire time not noticing her parent’s reactions. Adrian had to leave breakfast early because Annie’s father was giving him a venomous gaze.

Adrian understood, if he heard somebody having sex with Adrianna, he would probably kill them.
