Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Bloody Mary Resurfaces

The butler ran as fast as he could, he used blood morphis to strengthen himself in hopes of slowing down the venom.

It worked to an extent but the mind numbing pain was still there. He felt like his blood was boiling and he was being stabbed by burning needles.

Eventually he reached where the young mistress was. He busted inside without even knocking.

Sevana looked at him with indifference, " Why are you here, where’s the wolf boy?" She asked coldly.

He went on one knee, " My lady I failed, that wolf injected me with some type of venom, I can’t neutralise it."

Sevana raised her eyebrow with interest. " He might be stronger than we given him credit for.

No matter, in a few days, reinforcement should arrive, not to mention others have decided to take action as well.

You go rest, we’ll take care of things from now on." She shooed him away but he didn’t leave.

His legs were shaking and his body was as heavy as a mountain. He opened his mouth and felt his throat dry up.

" My lady, the venom.." he didn’t finish and she just clicked her tongue in annoyance.

" Useless." She touched his head but immediately pulled her hand back like lightning.

This caught everybody in the room by suprise. " This, what did you say he injected you with?"

" Venom my lady" cough cough, " His venom." He answered with a voice that kept getting lower and lower.

Sevana shook her head, " I’m sorry, I can’t help you, we need to seek a witch urgently, they might be able to help."

They dragged the butler to the territory of the witches, unfortunately the strongest alchemist in the city in that moment was merely a level 1.

Even so, she was quite knowledgeable and she told them outright. " Lady Sevana, I can’t create an antidote for this venom, nobody can.

It’s not made of any elements in this world, magical or otherwise, calling it a venom doesn’t even do it justice.

This is closer to a curse, a death curse that cannot be broken. It’s directly destroying his soul rendering his immortality useless.

I’m sorry but, there’s nothing anybody can do, him lasting for so long is a testament of his strength.

Also, even if I could help you, you know I wouldn’t, after all, you are trying to kill the child of blood, sister of mine would kill me if I ever helped you."

Sevana nodded, she had intended to force the witches to help if she could but since a cure was impossible.

There was no point in starting a war with the witches over a mere butler who was doomed to die anyways.

They turned to leave leaving the butler lying on the floor unable to move. Sevana stopped.

" You keep saying the child of blood like you consider that creature one of your own, would it be safe to assume that’s your stance in this war?"

The witch shook her head, " Our blood runs through himself, as for my stance, I am but a child amongst my sisters, I follow where they lead."

" I see, even knowing the destruction and death his very existence will bring you will still stand by him?"

" As I have stated, I am but a child, I follow where my sisters lead and where they lead is not for me to question."

" You witches are a strange bunch, I thought you hated the males born of your race so why do you care for him?"

" He is no warlock lady Sevana, comparing him to one would only bring calamity upon yourself."

Sevana didn’t say anything else. " Are you not going to take what’s yours?" The witch asked.

" Do with him as you see fit." Sevana answered dismissively which broke the already dying vampire.

He was already in despair but to be abandoned by his mistress he had served with such loyalty for so long was too much for his mind to bear.

He couldn’t hold on any longer and the venom finally took his life. He breathed his last a second later.

The witch merely gave him a single glance then continued doing what she was doing, tending to her herbs and potions.

Even though she was a level 1 alchemy witch with no combat ability to speak off she was not scared of the level 4 countess Sevana.

Because she knew, her race was one with the closest of bonds. If Sevana had hurt her, she would’ve started a war.

The witch didn’t notice but on her mirror, a beautiful pale face with long white hair and pitch black eyes appeared.

This beautiful face walked out the mirror, a young girl appeared inside the shop yet the witch still did not notice.

She only felt the temperature dropping rapidly but as a witch she understood the implications of this.

She took out a white powder and poured it on herself and on the ground forming a circle.

This was called a dragon’s sweat. A type of salt formed using the sweat of creatures with dragon blood.

It was extremely rare because those creatures were usually scaled and did not sweat normally.

But it was extremely effective against spirits, whether they were ghosts, demons or other spirits.

The ghostly woman did not even glance at the witch. She reached down and touched the vampire.

Then pulled back her hand and brought out a soul that looked like it had been painted silver black.

This was Adrian’s venom at work. The soul was sucked into the misty white dress the ghostly woman was wearing.

She winced for a moment then her face returned to normal. The witch suddenly felt a tremendous drop of temperature.

To the point frost appeared on the floor and spread out across the room. Even the flames beneath her couldron died out.

Her body started shaking with fear because a thought had just came to her. ’ A bloody Mary.’

She had heard rumours that a bloody Mary had been born in this era and now she was starting to believe that.

Of course she couldn’t be certain since any ghost will naturally drop the temperature around them.

Before she could take out any other magical concoctions, the temperature returned to normal.

The ominous presence in the room disappeared. She immediately rushed to take out any reflective surface and throw them out.

The fog cleared and Annie saw the destruction to the street. "Did a bomb go off here?" She asked jokingly trying to hide the fear in her voice.

Adrian didn’t say anything and hugged her tightly. The temperature around them suddenly dropped.

" E..ve?" He heard her whisper filled with confusion and sorrow.
