John and the couple told Suzie everything that happened, Adrian came down to listen to their report.

" I see, they must be people behind those you two killed but I wonder how they were tracking you.

Sam, you should take Athi and find out, otherwise their presence will slow down our expansion in the black market."

Sam nodded, Athi’s ability plus the rings would make her nearly impossible to detect by anybody.

" My lord, there’s also the issue of money, the funds we stole from the vampires are running low.

We won’t be able to purchase many hearts with what we have, I suggest we start some form of business."

" Business huh? That’s a great idea Suzie, except, werewolves aren’t good in any trademark besides fighting.

We could start a mercenary guild but considering I’m the strongest werewolf and even I am just at level 2, that’s not feasible right now."

They wrecked their brains but nothing came to mind, while making money in the criminal world of humans was easy.

Making it in the supernatural world, not so much. Adrian sighed, " We’ll get back to that, right now I need you to take care of this issue Sam.

You also need to inform the supplier not to bring any hearts as of yet, we’ll contact him when we need them.

It would really be embarrassing if he brought hearts and we didn’t have the funds to pay for them, we would lose our credibility too."

Suzie smiled at his words, ’ My lord is growing up.’ knowing him she had expected he would want to solve things with fists.

That fit his character and she wasn’t wrong, he did for a moment imagine going to the underworld and beating up this mysterious group.

Then threaten the supplier to give them the hearts or die but he realised not only would that be unnecessary dangerous but even if it worked, it wouldn’t be good in the long run.

It would just make many more enemies for the lunar pack. ’ Why won’t the vampires attack again, I need more money.’

If vampires heard what he said they would probably lose it. Luckily for him, his wish would be granted soon.

Far away from Lagos, two groups were approaching, one had 999 people and the other had 800 people.

Normally vampires above a thousand would count as an army and be prohibited from going through the mortal world.

However they took advantage of the loophole, instead of one large group they counted as two separate groups.

The 800 were from the house of Ezell, the two groups decided to rest during the day, the day went by.

Night came and they continued moving, suddenly they saw a shadow flying towards them in the distance.

" Is that the Karon kid?" One of them asked, the others looked closer and were able to recognise Baron Vesta Karon.

He landed in front of him, he looked like a mess. " What happened to you boy, why are you in such a hurry?"

An older vampire asked, he was one of the few at the peak of level 2 and he was a born himself.

Not one with a household, he was a baron working under the Vampiric Council. Vesta Karon sat down.

" They’re gone, they’re all gone, the army my family sent was wiped out by those damned Werewolves."

Karon had finally learnt their true name during that battle. The vampires drew closer but they all frowned when they heard his words.

" Wiped out, didn’t you say there were only a few of them, are they that strong? Do they have level 3 experts perhaps?"

The the older vampire asked and Karon shook his head. " I wasn’t lying, there are only fourteen Werewolves and the strongest is their leader at level 2."

The vampires were confused, " Only one level 2, you’re telling me a single dog defeated all 100 of you?"

He sounded disappointed and disgusted at the same time. Karon looked up and almost laughed.

He took found it hard to believe what had happened. " No, it wasn’t him, he was sleeping at the time."

The others gasped, " You can’t possibly mean you lost to level 1 wolves, the Karon army can’t be that pathetic."

Karon felt anger rise up inside him at the insult. " You speak because you know nothing, each one of them is the equivalence of a vampire count.

Now tell me, do you think my army stood a chance?" He asked with anger and that shut them up.

If what he said is true them it would take hundreds of vampires to take those dogs down.

Fortunately they had 999 level 2 Vampires with 72 barons, not to mention those in the Ezell army, unfortunately they couldn’t request the aid of Viscounts.

Nobles of that level were rare and rarely went to war unless the threat had been assessed to require them.

Unfortunately that was not the case here and even if they reported what he had just said.

The council would perceive this as their own cowardice and they would probably be punished.

" No matter, we’ll assess the situation and the threat before we attack, somebody should be ready to go report to the council in case something unfortunate happens."

" Lord Dalaway, you can’t possibly think we might lose with such large numbers, even a count can’t defeat so many vampires by themselves."

A subordinate of Dalaway commented but he didn’t realise the fault in his statement, yes a count alone cannot but what about 10 or more.

Dalaway was old, he was nearly 2 000 years old and normally as a Baron he would be level 3 by now.

Unfortunately, his true esper heart was damaged in his younger days so he can longer progress any further, not without healing that wound.

Unfortunately, the esper heart is deeply connected to the soul, healing it will take more than a vampires regeneration ability.

However his years of experience taught him something important about battle, large numbers mean nothing if teamwork sucks.

As long as you opponent can control the flow of the battle, the only way to use large enough is to exhaust them.

He understood that it wasn’t necessarily that those wolves were stronger than a hundred level 2 vampires combined.

They probably only faced 2 to 3 at the same time and killed them fast enough that by the time the others arrived, they were already free to deal with them.

Which meant if they wanted to win, he would need to work on their teamwork. He looked at his army and shook his head.

" That’s impossible." He whispered drawing the attention of the others. " Don’t mind me, continue with your business."
