Fu Sheng staggered along, swaying through streets and alleys until he arrived at the door of a secluded bungalow. He paused for breath, fumbled in his pocket, and pulled out a somewhat rusty key. It was old, tied with a red cord that had frayed and faded to a blackish-red hue.
He unlocked the door and entered.
Inside was a small, dilapidated courtyard, no more than ten square meters and poorly lit. It resembled a lightwell more than a courtyard.
