... ed just in time to see June rushing down the hallway toward me. Her arms were already outstretched, her hair was messy, her eyes were swollen like she’d been crying all night.
She didn’t slow down. Didn’t give me time to brace myself. She threw herself into me, hugging me so tightly it almost knocked the air out of my chest.
"I’m sorry....I’m so, so sorry," she sobbed into my shoulder. Her voice was muffled as she kept shaking her head with every word.
