A bellow that didn’t sound like it belonged to anything on terra, reached my ears long before the creature’s massive form ever did..

It was a wailing noise so unnatural goosebumps broke out on my skin from just registering the sound..

"Damn... that old man wasn’t lying, just what the hell even is that?"

As my vision of the gargantuan creature became clearer and clearer, my confusion only deepened..

It was a massive mammoth, I didn’t have the mind to start estimating just how large the thing was, but one thing I knew for sure was that the 100-foot void-stargazer I’d faced before would be like a toddler before this thing.

But that wasn’t even the most disturbing thing about it, what was jarring was the creature’s appearance, jagged bone-like protrusions covered the entirety of its body, not a piece of flesh could be found on its body, just raw sinewy muscle that pulsed like a living organism wrapped around jagged white protruding bones...

Its face, if you could even call it that, looked like something pulled straight out of an eldritch horror story, it was nothing but a tentacle filled surface, giant pillar like teeth being visible whenever the creature’s tentacles moved...

WOOOOOSHHHHH!!!

The sound of the air being split apart reached my ears as I sidestepped a colossal tentacle that had shot straight at me with blinding speeds...

BOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!

The hard as metal earth exploded as chunks of debris were sent flying..

I took to the air, dodging more of those massive things...

GUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

That unnatural sound echoed once more as the creature winked from the far off distance, before I could understand what was happening, the sky darkened behind me as it felt like the world was suddenly plunged into darkness, only, it wasn’t..

I looked up, a foot that looked enormous enough to hold up the sky, was descending like the furious stomping of a god on an audacious mortal..

It was impressive and intimidating, but that’s all it was, I’d already gotten over my surprise of such a monster..

BOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

The creature’s massive foot landed like the apocalypse itself..

The ground caved in instantly, a crater spanning over a hundred meters wide spreading out, but I was nowhere to be found...

GUOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!

"Heh.. big guy!!! Up here!!" I called out from above, as the creature raised its enormous head, its tentacles swirling madly as it devolved into a full blown rage...

I finally focused truly on the spiraling abomination...

<Colossal Abomination> that’s it..

No ranks, no tiers, no nothing..

Just what it was and that’s it..

Although I didn’t think the creature needed any other markers, its size and freakish strength were indicators enough...

GUOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Over half a dozen of those enormous tentacles shot at me with blistering speeds, encircling me instantly..

"CLEAVE..."

My voice wasn’t loud, it was merely meant to be a whisper in the wind, but somehow it seemed to carry on everywhere...

ZINGGG!!!!!!

GUOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Following a brief flash of golden light, the tentacles surrounding me were instantly cut into bit sized pieces that rained down to the shattered landscape below, the creature bellowing this time in clear pain and discomfort...

ROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

A deafening dragon’s roar filled the entire area as Elira made her presence known..

The golden halberd had appeared in my hand, as I rested her shaft on my shoulders,her form vibrating intensely, as my eyes locked onto the squirming abomination beneath me...

"Yes, yes, I’m sorry it took this long, but you’re about to get some action so that should count for something right?" I placated the excited girl...

Hummmmmmmm!!!!!

"Fine, fine, Bossy much?" I clicked my tongue..

"Alright then," I raised the halberd, her sharp edge glinting in the crimson environment, "time to end this."

The creature bellowed in rage and pain, but it was all futile as..

"CLEAVE...." I brought Elira down in one swift motion....

The world stilled as reality seemed to take its time...

I rested Elira back on my shoulder, the moment her shaft met my shoulder, the world finally reacted...

SHIIIINNNGGGG.....

A clean, devastating line had been carved through.... EVERYTHING...

The <Colossal Abomination> was cut into two perfect mountainous halves, the landscape not being spared as a devastating trench was carved into what felt like over a thousand meter stretch of land..

"Damn, girl.. look what you did." I whistled as the massive corpse fell apart, its collapse causing more destruction as the entire land shook and fissured..

I ignored the notifications that appeared before me, they weren’t of any use, it didn’t matter how much I gained, I wasn’t going to level up either way..

"Hahaha.. yea, you did real good, but that was just the appetizer, let’s see if we can find something around here that’ll really push us." I laughed as the stale wind began picking up around us...

I shot off into the distance, my target? The massive surge of energy I’d felt coming from the west...

I arrived at the location I’d sensed that surge of energy earlier, all while arguing with my bratty soul weapon about whose goal was more important..

My wings or her blood..

Easy to say, we couldn’t come to an agreement..

I looked around, nothing..

No massive, gargantuan mammoths, but I was sure I’d sensed a similar energy around...

Before I could think further...

SWOOOOOSHHH!!!!!

The air parted as I barely had time to react to the sickening bladed limb that had been moments away from taking my head off..

I backed away immediately, eyes looking around cautiously..

SWOOOSHHH!!!

There once again, barely reacted to the attack..

One should know, I’d just ranked up from D to rank C, my attributes having taken another massive leap, yet somehow I was barely reacting to whatever this was...

Another phantom blade nearly grazed my midsection as I stepped back, avoiding any injury..

"Interesting.." a wild smile appeared on my face.

Nothing was more exciting than a strange foe..

I closed my eyes, letting the world fade as my perception bled into the surrounding atmosphere..

Swooosh!!!

The wind’s whispers reached me long before the strike ever did, I moved my head sideways, dodging the blade strike effortlessly..

"Now we’re talking.." my smile widened..

Another whisper from the wind and I sidestepped just fast enough to watch another blade-like limb slash past the place I’d been a moment ago..

"There you are..." my hands shot out like a vice and before the creature could pull back I’d grabbed a hold of the limb, the creature’s body finally coming into view...

The thing was ugly to say the least, it had the face of a rat, the body of a dog and the feet of what I assumed would be a grasshopper..

[Velociplex Abomination]...

It was another abomination, but unlike what I was expecting, this one wasn’t large, it wasn’t built for strength.

It’s slim body and twin bladed limbs made it clear that this was a predator meant for fast and decisive kills...

SCREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

An unholy screeching came from the creature’s mouth as it tried to struggle out of my grasp, but the fight had already ended the moment I got hold of it..

Ziing!!!

A flash of gold and the hideous head of the creature went flying, nasty black blood spraying everywhere...

"Damn.. Elira, watch it, don’t get me dirty.." I scolded softly as I descended from the skies..

Hummmmmm!!

"You’re getting very cheeky aren’t you?" I decided to ignore the annoying halberd for now, I had other matters to attend to..

I had, in my excitement earlier, forgotten to devour or even carry the massive corpse of the Colossal Abomination, so, now it was time to see just what I could get from devouring these things...

"Devour.." I placed my palm on the creature’s corpse and called out lightly...

Simply put, whatever the total of your opponent’s attributes sums up to, you can raise your agility to such levels...
