CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 509 - 517: This is Punishment
"Aren’t you even a bit excited? This is real shooting with live ammunition, and even though you guys are actors, you usually don’t get this chance." Mair Williams was the first to notice Jane Sampson’s dejected expression, so she reached over and poked Jane’s arm, "You seem unhappy."
Jane Sampson tugged at the corner of her mouth, smiling with forced strength.
"It’s right for me to be unhappy, you’ll understand soon enough," Jane pointed at Lieutenant Johnson upfront, "Pay close attention first to what the instructor is teaching."
At that moment, Lieutenant Johnson was explaining several types of firearms laid out on the countertop to everyone, and then he demonstrated each one, telling everyone the precautions and standards to observe during their use.
Just explaining and demonstrating took him more than an hour, and then he went around supervising everyone one by one. After confirming that everyone’s postures were correct, he had everyone find their places for training, gave them one hour to get familiar, and then after an hour, he had everyone start to actually fire the guns.
Lieutenant Johnson’s gaze swept over the group of eight people, then rested on Jane Sampson.
The chief’s wife, whose seniors in the house were veterans, Lieutenant Johnson thought not surprisingly for a military family member, even the way she held the gun was more correct than ordinary people.
It seemed that later, he could take a good look at the chief’s wife’s marksmanship, and perhaps he could use it to earn some credit with the chief.
Jane Sampson listened to Lieutenant Johnson speak with an even more attentive and earnest attitude than the others. Each time she met his approving gaze, her heart felt hollow.
Lieutenant Johnson might have misunderstood her.
This misunderstanding might lead him to have high hopes for her. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Once the hour was up, Lieutenant Johnson spoke, "Take your positions! Ten bullets each person! The worst score, one for the girls and one for the boys, will be in charge of cleaning their own dormitory for one week, that’s the punishment."
"And what’s the reward for the best score?" Charlie Peterson asked with a light laugh.
Lieutenant Johnson thought for a moment, then said, "The award is ten bullets."
"Alright!" Charlie Peterson grinned, looking quite confident.
"Everyone take your positions, begin!" Lieutenant Johnson glanced at Jane Sampson standing at the third spot, smiling with anticipation, her posture correct, somewhat looking forward to the chief’s wife’s results.
Though she wore protective equipment, at that moment, all Jane Sampson could hear was the bang bang bang of gunshots. She fired each shot with utmost precision.
In her mind, she went over and over the key points Lieutenant Johnson just talked about, firing every shot with a serious and undaunted attitude.
After the ten shots were done, Lieutenant Johnson asked his subordinates to report the scores, and his young team member beside him then picked up the telescope for a quick glance before starting to announce the boys’ scores.
"No. 8 target, six points, three points, five points, five points...total score, 55 points."
"Poor showing!" Lieutenant Johnson said bluntly and then looked over at Charlie Peterson at the No. 8 position.
Charlie Peterson scratched his head and chuckled, "Saved the officer ten bullets."
"Keep reporting," Lieutenant Johnson curled the corners of his mouth and turned to the person by his side.
"No. 7 target, seven points, eight points, six points...total score 78 points."
"Not bad, the average score is close to eight points, that’s a promising talent." Lieutenant Johnson glanced at Benjamin Worthington, a retired athlete who indeed has somewhat of an edge over ordinary people.
