CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 475 - 483: We Refuse to Accept
Everyone’s actions were swift, and in less than a minute, the red booklets had vanished from their hands, each standing with impeccable posture, expressions all different from the next.
But in everyone’s eyes, the same phrase was written: heartache.
These marriage certificates will likely never return to their hands.
Some had not even touched or seen the wedding photos of themselves with Goddess Sampton.
Their Goddess Sampton was so beautiful, and they looked so handsome; surely it was a match made by heaven.
"Now, when I call out your name, watch my hand signals and stand to the right or left," James Black picked up the box, glanced at the few people who were secretly rejoicing, then read out their names one by one. After inspecting all the marriage certificates in the box, he kicked the box slightly farther away.
The hearts of the people below jumped with the box; their treasures were treated with such disregard by their Chief.
Heartache! Capitalized heartache! Capitalized grievance!
"All units, listen up! A day, eight hundred push-ups, 50-kilometer weighted obstacle training! When it ends, that’s when you go back to rest!"
James Black stopped the scattered few in the middle who hadn’t moved and those who had passed by without participating, and said, "You few will supervise! If I catch anyone of you helping someone cheat, tomorrow, your mission is doubled!"
After James Black finished speaking, the expressions of the group below turned ferocious.
Eight hundred push-ups! Isn’t that asking for their lives?
"Those on the right, line up! Hand over one by one the photos you removed from your marriage certificates! You’re in charge of the restroom this month!"
A bunch of rabbit kids, they thought he didn’t know they handed in their marriage certificates but had tucked the group photos with their wives inside their palms!
He wasn’t blind!
Those standing on the left burst into laughter; each tried to contain their laughter with shoulders shaking.
Just now, they envied the clever few on the other side who managed to save their photos first, never expecting the Chief had seen it all and was just waiting to deal with them!
"Report!" a team member called out.
"Speak!" James Black’s gaze turned to the speaking team member!
"Chief, Sir! We object! We do not know the reason for the Chief’s punishment!" Team Member A challenged with confidence.
"You still don’t know why you deserve to be disciplined up to now? Is your brain filled with cement? Publicly making false certificates and now you’re reasoning it out!" James Black was close to throwing the box to cover his disgraceful subordinate.
"Chief, Sir! We inquired, and such entertaining certificates are not against the law!" Team Member A replied!
"I don’t care about what’s legal or not! Here, my word is one of the rules! I said no false certificates, and I absolutely forbid it! As defenders, you must not participate in forgery! Have all the rules been in vain?" James Black stood there, imposing, having an aura that felt like a mountain bearing down.
The group below quieted for a few seconds; someone boldly said, "Report! I object! Officials are allowed to start fires, but commoners can’t even light a lamp! Tyrant!"
James Black’s lips twitched so slightly it was nearly imperceptible, "Are you questioning that the marriage certificate in my hand is a fake?"
"Yes!" the team member answered loudly and quickly.
"If you can prove that the marriage certificate in my hand is a fake, I will clean the restroom for two months, I’ll do one thousand six hundred push-ups, one hundred kilometers load-bearing obstacle training!" James Black’s expression didn’t change for a second as he doubled his own punishment.
"Chief, this is your own word! When Peter Gingery comes back, and if he proves the Chief’s marriage certificate is fake, the Chief must keep his promise!" That team member couldn’t have sounded happier saying this.
