"Of course." Mair Williams nodded and gave a sigh, "How did I end up pregnant, sigh, if I tell my dad and mom, ’Dad, Mom, you’re going to be grandparents,’ do you think my parents will break Liam Woody’s leg, or their own beloved daughter’s?"

"Can’t they break both?" Jane Sampson blurted out.

"You rascal, whose side are you on?" Mair Williams tapped Jane Sampson’s forehead with her finger.

"On the side of whatever might happen." Jane Sampson answered seriously, then lowered her voice and quietly asked Mair Williams, "Did you use protection during that, you know?"
