CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1859 - 1867: Listen to You
Like desperately seeking a definitive answer, Jillian Carter even disregarded whether Joseph Shaw was driving, reaching out to grab Joseph Shaw’s hand and loudly demanding, "Quick, tell me, is it true! Is it! Sooner or later, I’m going to take back my belongings, one by one!"
"Yes!" Henry Shaw slammed on the brakes to bring the car to a stop, then soothed Jillian Carter’s emotions, "Trust me, you won’t go wrong."
"My room, my things, my daddy and mommy, my brother, sooner or later, I’ll take back what’s mine from Jane Sampson!" Jillian Carter gritted her teeth, a cold glint in her eyes, "I will never lose! Jane Sampson, just you wait and see!"
In an attempt to calm Jillian Carter’s nerves, Joseph Shaw reached over to turn on the car radio, hoping it would distract her. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
But unexpectedly, the radio immediately started playing Jane Sampson’s new song, "He’s Bothered."
As soon as the voice came out, Jillian Carter shrieked at the top of her lungs, while Joseph Shaw scrambled to turn off the radio.
Then, furrowing his brows, he looked towards Jillian Carter and said, "Jillian, you can’t go on like this. You can’t even deceive yourself; who else do you think you can fool? If you were at home, in front of dad and mom, would you act this way? Then everything you’ve done before would be in vain. Do you think it’s worth it?"
"Why is she everywhere? How is she everywhere?" Jillian Carter burst out cursing, "What’s so great about her? Why does the whole world, everyone, like her?"
Joseph Shaw couldn’t answer that question.
Before this, Jillian Carter’s feelings towards Jane Sampson hadn’t been this intense, but after Jane Sampson’s identity was revealed, Jillian Carter was deeply affected, and after returning from the hospital, her temperament became more extreme.
That’s why Joseph Shaw had no choice but to placate her.
Even knowing it’s wrong, he could only continue down this path step by step.
"Jillian, once you finish your current work, come back from the Capital Province, and stop acting." Joseph Shaw said.
"What? Do you also think I’m not fit to act? That my acting isn’t as good as Jane Sampson’s?" Jillian Carter widened her eyes sharply, "Do you think, just like everyone else, that I’m not as good as Jane Sampson? We play the same roles, yet I’m criticized everywhere while she is praised everywhere?"
"That’s not what I mean." Joseph Shaw explained, feeling a bit helpless, "I’m concerned about you. Jane Sampson is an actor, and the busier she is, the better. The busier she is, the less time she has to stay at the Carter Family’s house. Dad and mom weren’t keen on you becoming an actor. If you come back, they’ll think you’re sensible, and you can also go back and have a meal with them often, frequently appearing before them. Come home, but not staying over. People’s feelings, they grow with companionship."
Jillian Carter quickly calmed down and nodded, "You’re right. Okay, I’ll listen to you."
Joseph Shaw breathed a sigh of relief. All the excuses were fake. He just wanted to coax Jillian Carter back for the time being.
The day after Jillian Carter moved out, Mother Carter personally visited the set of Jane Sampson and James Carter’s film crew.
Seeing the siblings walking towards her, sweaty and out of breath, Mother Carter felt a wave of comfort in her heart.
Looking at them now, Mother Carter found that her pair of children looked more and more alike, yet before, she hadn’t noticed it at all. "Mom, why are you here?" James Carter was a bit surprised to see their mother suddenly appear. After greeting her, he turned to look at Jane Sampson, thinking that mother was probably here to visit his sister.
