CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1845 - 1853: Slashed Wrists
"Just convey this message to him, he knows well what he’s done." James Black didn’t say much more, then took the car key and said to Father Carter, "I’ll take you to the airport."
Father Carter nodded, holding his wife’s hand hurriedly as they followed James Black out the door.
Grandpa Carter and Granny Carter never thought about following them out, the two sat there, their faces not looking good.
After they left, Old Sir Carter asked James Black again, "What does James Black’s statement mean, did Joseph Shaw also do something to Jane?"
"A while back, all of Jane’s notices were snatched, and eventually, James Black found traces leading to Joseph Shaw. If you want to learn more about these matters, you can personally inquire." Brooke Black didn’t say much more. With the Carter Family’s capabilities, she had hinted enough, if the Carter Family wanted to know more, they could investigate on their own.
Old Sir Carter sat there for a long time without speaking, and then softly sighed.
"Enough about that, let’s continue looking at Jane’s childhood photos. Just looking at her photos makes us happy; she was a pistachio when she was small, loved to act coy, a soft little girl, yet domineering. Later, after the Sampton Family’s daughter returned, her personality drastically changed; she became particularly quiet."
Shaking his head, Elder Black glanced at the two: "It’s not easy to find you all; you must cherish her more, make up for those many lost years."
"You don’t need to say that, we know how to love our child." Old Sir Carter hummed, "Granny Carter and I understand what kind of temperament both children have. For Jane’s sake, both of us want to live a few more years, to see our granddaughter with a full family, hold her children. If we can’t watch her grow up, at least we can watch her children grow."

When Father and Mother Carter got off the airplane, they immediately took a car to the hospital. When they arrived, the doctor was just pushing Jillian Carter out from the ward.
Upon seeing Jillian Carter being wheeled out from the ward, Joseph Shaw didn’t even have time to greet Father and Mother Carter, hurriedly going to find the doctor and asking, "Doctor, how is my wife?"
Joseph Shaw wore a team uniform, the doctor glanced at him with a dissatisfied look: "You do care about your wife? You claim to be a defender, yet what did you do to rile your wife up like this? Do you know, a bit later and your wife might not have made it, understand? Can’t you, a big man, just yield a bit to your wife?"
Joseph Shaw was berated like a dog with blood all over, but he firmly kept his eyes on Jillian Carter lying in the bed full of tubes.
Without any explanation, Joseph Shaw didn’t wait for the doctor to finish before turning to follow the nurse pushing the bed.
"Hey! Hey! What’s this attitude, impatient with lectures?" The doctor was fuming, turning to Father Carter and saying, "Old Carter, you found such a soldier fool for your daughter?"
"This matter has nothing to do with him." Father Carter shook his head, pulling his wife along as they chased after.
In the ward, Jillian Carter lay there pale, eyes closed, just like a paper slip, not at all resembling a real person.
Mother Carter stood next with a mixture of anger and heartache.
Anger at her self-harm causing distress to the family; heartache for her inability to learn better, wishing she could have a softer disposition.
