CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1844 - 1852: Pass On the Message
"Smiling so happily, you must be thinking about your wife." Old Master Black caught the slight expression on James Black’s face and immediately teased.
James Black reined in his expression.
The atmosphere was just right, since they were old acquaintances, and Jane Sampson’s identity meant the two families were even closer.
Suddenly, Father Carter’s mobile phone rang.
Mother Carter, sitting next to her husband, glanced unintentionally and saw it was Joseph Shaw. She said worriedly, "Answer it quickly, is there something going on with Jillian?"
Having raised her daughter herself, Mother Carter couldn’t help but worry.
Father Carter nodded and picked up the call.
Just a few seconds later, Father Carter’s expression completely changed.
"What is it?" Mother Carter had never seen her husband wear such an expression before.
"Jillian attempted suicide by slitting her wrist. She has been rushed to the hospital by the hotel for emergency treatment. Joseph Shaw is also on his way to the hospital, and he heard from the hotel staff that the situation is very serious. When Jillian was placed in the ambulance, she was already unconscious, completely pale."
Father Carter quickly stood up, "This is too sudden. This child is too extreme, why does she think that way?"
"We recognized Jane; we didn’t abandon her. Why is she being so foolish?" Mother Carter panicked.
"Are you going back?" Granny Carter saw that both Father and Mother Carter had stood up as if they were in a hurry to leave and asked.
"Yes, we’re heading to the airport now to catch the next available flight." Father Carter nodded.
"Whether you go back or not, your dad and I can’t control, but your dad and I won’t go back. If she isn’t dead, you tell her for us, don’t think that using such a self-harming strategy can stop Jane Sampson from coming back."
Granny Carter’s voice was icy: "Tell her, it’s impossible. Jane Sampson is a child of the Carter Family. The Carter Family will definitely recognize her. If she can’t accept that, then she may as well leave the Carter Family. Live or die, it’s up to her. The Carter Family won’t wrong our own child because she slit her wrist."
Until now, Granny Carter was not just disgusted with Jillian Carter’s suicidal act, but also angry.
Angry at Jillian Carter’s unscrupulous means.
Angry that Jillian Carter’s means were so foolish.
In this world, if a person has to resort to self-harm to achieve their goals, that person is beyond help in their stupidity.
She is selfish and foolish.
This is the kind of abandonment that comes after disappointment and disgust.
"Mom, maybe the child was just momentarily overwhelmed." Mother Carter was unwilling to believe that this was Jillian Carter’s means to drive Jane Sampson away.
"It better be so." Granny Carter snorted.
"What is this Jillian Carter all about?" Old Master Black looked toward Father and Mother Carter, "I won’t allow anyone to bully my Jane. If you can’t handle your family matters, then don’t come and trouble my Jane. My Jane is sensitive, and she’s under the protection of our Black Family. We haven’t allowed her to be unhappy, and neither should you!"
Old Master Black was completely protective. Upon hearing that there was a Jillian Carter issue, Old Master Black immediately voiced out; no one can bully those cherished by the Black Family.
"And there’s Joseph Shaw." James Black suddenly spoke, "Please also tell him, do not think others won’t know his actions, unless he does nothing. If I want to investigate him, I surely can."
James Black’s words were sudden, even somewhat inexplicable.
Old Sir Carter was taken aback, "What does this have to do with Joseph Shaw? That child is practically raised under my watch."
