The coincidences that he used to overlook, or even find amusing, gradually seemed to turn into clues pointing towards some truth.

Their resemblance was uncanny.

James Carter remembered that more than one person had said Jane Sampson looked a bit like his family.

Even grandpa, upon seeing Jane Sampson for the first time, said Jane Sampson looked very much like grandma when she was young.

James Carter also remembered the first time he stood on the same stage with Jane Sampson; someone even remarked that he and Jane Sampson looked a bit alike. The first time he brought Jane Sampson home as a guest, she mentioned that she was allergic to bananas.

Even their allergies were the same.

James Carter scarcely dared to think further.

In his heart, there was a long-ignored truth, on the verge of coming out intensely.

That whole night, James Carter was sleepless; every time he closed his eyes, his mind was filled with the image of Jane Sampson breaking down and crying at the Twitter Night event, along with memories of her every expression and smile.

That indescribable sense of familiarity was present from the first moment he saw her.

James Carter remembered when mom gave birth to his sister, he was by mom’s side.

Because of father’s status, his and mom’s identity information had always been well-protected.

During that period, he happened to be accompanying his mom, who was on a business trip in the Capital Province, while his father was away on a mission. A criminal had escaped, claiming to avenge his brothers against his father.

So, during that time, he and mom were heavily guarded wherever they went.

Moreover, no outsiders knew where he and mom were staying when they were in the Capital Province, and even less so, mom’s schedule.

Mom’s premature labor was caused by a slip on the icy roads due to the cold weather in the Capital Province.

Fortunately, both mother and daughter were safe.

James Carter clearly remembered his anxious waiting outside the delivery room when it caught on fire and heard the panicked screams of the nurses inside.

Later, James Carter heard from father’s subordinate that the fire in the delivery room was man-made, an extreme act of revenge following a medical incident. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

When mother was tranquilly wheeled out from the delivery room, James Carter remembered he truly breathed a sigh of relief.

He saw mom but didn’t see his sister; as he followed mom into the ward, he kept asking about his sister’s whereabouts.

Upon learning that his sister was weak and sent for a physical examination, James Carter finally relaxed.

He followed to the pediatric monitoring room and saw his sister inside the incubator.

He also saw another child in the incubator, so skinny, so tiny, much smaller than his sister.

Although his sister’s cries were soft, they were spirited.

Whereas the child next to his sister, even the cries came in short bursts, as if even crying took a great effort.

Later, when a nurse brought that child to their mother’s side, he watched from the side, curiously observing.

If that skinny little child was indeed Jane Sampson, then James Carter’s heart was filled with nothing but tenderness.

Compared to James Carter’s sleeplessness, Jane Sampson had a much happier night.

Bright Sampton’s interview wasn’t over yet, but the gift he sent had already arrived in Jane Sampson’s hands.

Since the courier couldn’t enter the residential community, the property management helped deliver it downstairs, where James Black picked it up.

A big box full of items, Jane Sampson even suspected whether Bright Sampton had a suitcase dedicated to holding gifts for her.
