The item hastily placed inside the drawer was not the colorful book she thought it was, but a gift she made for James Black when she had to leave for recording the show that day.

That turtle made out of tree leaves, though now long past, the originally vibrant green leaves had turned yellow, but were well-preserved without any rot.

Jane Sampson chuckled inwardly as she picked it up, "Doesn’t this guy claim he threw it away? How come he’s kept it hidden and checks it often? The veins of the leaves aren’t even severed; it’s evidently been preserved very carefully. And he always accuses me of saying one thing but meaning another, huh."

On the surface, he feigned dislike and even spoke of discarding it, but secretly he treasured it.

Really, no one could beat him at claiming one thing but doing another.

What amused Jane Sampson even more was that beneath this turtle card was a guarantee letter she wrote.

Even the crumpled draft she wrote and threw away in his study was smoothed out and nicely preserved by him.

Was it because today he heard Mair Williams mention recording the show that he suddenly thought of taking it out to look?

Jane Sampson fiddled with the stack of drafts in her hand, at a loss as to how to describe the sweetness swelling in her heart, sweet to the core of her heart.

So, he had always been carefully treasuring everything related to her.

So, back then, he had already liked her so much.

So, his heart really held such fondness for her.

Jane Sampson put everything back exactly as it was, and then tiptoed back to the bedroom.

While listening to the sounds from the bathroom, she waited for James Black to come out.

She waited until she heard the familiar sound of the door opening, then she jumped up from the bed. In the gaze she directed at him, there seemed to be a splendid starlight.

Bright and touching.

James Black could clearly feel that Jane Sampson was in a great mood, and when he lay down next to her, she actively snuggled into his arms and rubbed her face against his cheek, confirming his guess.

Though he didn’t know why, Jane Sampson was truly very happy now.

Perhaps understanding his intentions and his painstaking efforts, the next day when James Black took her to learn some defensive skills, Jane Sampson did not resist at all, and even learned very diligently and earnestly.

"She’s getting engaged?" Jane Sampson was a bit surprised, "Is it with David Chip?"

"David Chip? Who’s that?" Bright Sampton had never heard this name. "It’s with Smith Family’s second son. I heard that Grandpa Smith was grandpa’s teammate long ago, but Grandpa Smith exited the troops early and later went into business with his family. This marriage decision was made by grandpa."

Jane Sampson remembered seeing Julie Sampton and David Chip intimately watching a movie and entering the shopping mall together last time. How come now upon hearing about Julie Sampton’s engagement, the fiancé turned out to be someone she had never met or heard of?

"Julie Sampton could actually agree to the engagement?" This was what really baffled Jane Sampson.
