CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror
Chapter 346: Mass Awakening
Death and time are the two most terrifying concepts for mortals. Taking them out of the equation and the mortals had nothing to worry about.
This was the condition that Mater asked of Telara. They could arrive in the Everlasting Wilds and fought for her. But she must make sure they would return unharmed.
Telara agreed and signed the Soul Bound Contract. With her power, creating fake bodies for these participants were easy. Only their souls were present. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"We won’t die? Well, if that’s the case. This gig is actually pretty good."
"Didn’t this just became a more immersive roleplaying game?"
"Fighting for a Fae Queen? Hell yeah! I hope she’s pretty!"
Selina lifted her sword up in the sky. "If you don’t want to fight, you can stay behind. But if you do, follow me! I will lead you all to meet the Fae Queen."
The participants raised their hands and chanted.
Sparrow took out his Adventurous Lute and began playing a song. Evelynn sang a long and created an entire new verse of lyrics.
They marched toward the Moon Palace.
Tony Snow, the Psychosmith of Black Silver, was also here.
’What is even going on? There are other worlds outside of ours?’ He thought to himself.
Solarix landed beside him. His eyes were drawn to her demon wings.
"Tony Snow?" Solarix said.
"I am. Who’s asking?" Tony said.
"Our lady ordered some item from you before. Do you remember her?"
"Of course, how can I forget Selina Isles."
"Come with me, Mr. Snow. We have a job for you."
"Alright."
Alongside Tony were many other craftsmen with special talents. They arrived at the front of the marching troop and met Mater.
"Welcome. You are here because you are talented. Our fight in this world will be long. Potentially a few decades. We need capable men and women like you to make our army strong."
"A few decades?!" A craftsman blurted out. "Isn’t it just a day?!"
Mater smirked, "The Everlasting Wilds is an upper realm. One second in the real world is equivalent to 12,610 seconds here. You do the math."
"12,000 times different? That’ll be 43,200,000 seconds for an hour. That means..."
"34 years, 6 months, and 12 days." Tony gasped. He was very quick at calculation.
"That sounds about right." Mater nodded.
"I can’t stay here! I still have my wife and children at home. I can’t leave them for 30 years!" A craftsman said.
"You won’t. For you it’ll be 30 years. For them it’s just a day." Selina said.
"We can erase your memory too if you want." Mater added. "Once we’re done here."
"This is wrong. You can’t just make us slave for 30 years!" Another craftsman said.
Mater laughed, "No slave here. If you don’t want to join us, feel free to stay. The ritual would send you back after 34 years and Telara would erase your memory."
"Can I keep the memory?" Tony said.
"Oh? Why?"
"This is an opportunity."
Tony looked at a tree and it waved back at him. "I never imagined there’s a different world out there. If there is one, there must be plenty. I can see things that ordinary people will never see. I can learn a lot. I bet they have a lot of special technology that isn’t present in our world.
Beside, visiting a magical world feels like a vacation to me."
Tony’s side of argument made everything feel much more bearable. After all, they would lost nothing. Only their time.
The craftsmen stayed silent. He did have a point.
"Are you sure that we will be fine when we return? We won’t die of old age or something?" A craftsman said.
Mater chuckled, "You won’t. You have my words."
Five hundreds men and woman arrived at the Moon Palace. It was even grander than they expected. A palace of pure white that shined like a star.
There were Fae already standing there waiting for them.
They bowed at Mater. "Welcome back, Blood Warlock!"
The participants gazed upon the Fae. The Fae were animal hybrids, exactly the kind that they adored so much in fiction.
"Oh my gosh! Look at her ears! They’re so fluffy!"
"Look at that guy! He has Wolf Claw! I want one too!"
They were welcomed with the utmost respect and temporarily became a resident of the Moon Court. All of it was secured by the infamous Blood Warlock of Enderthal.
They were fed and looked after by the Fae. They learned all kind of manners and etiquette. It felt like they’re truly playing an immersive roleplaying game.
Then they gathered at the Moon Square where Telara stood on top of her Palace balcony looking down to them.
"I welcome you all to my domain. We are being threatened by the Sun Court. They thought that we are evil! They thought that we are depraved! But we only live by our desire. By what our instinct told us to do. You are here to help me preserving this kingdom."
"Oh my... She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen."
"Queen Telara, I love you!"
"For Queen Telara!"
"As a gesture of appreciation, I shall bless you."
A white staff appeared in her hand. A wave of pink Fey Magic washed over the participants.
Most of them were ordinary human at couldn’t use their Psycho Force. But that changed now.
Fey Magic was Wild Magic. It awoken their true potential.
The five hundred men and women had their awakening.
Tony saw his hand glowing in Chaos power. He was a mortal only. Even though he’s specialized in making items for Psychic.
From that moment on, he was no longer just an ordinary human.
"This power shall retain even after your time here. Consider it... A gift." Telara said.
The participants roared in excitement.
Mater watched everything from the side and smiled. "She’s still pretty good."
The Moon and Sun Courts were the two major players in the Everlasting Wilds.
The Moon Court favored their instinct and base desires. They were the mischievous and wild Fae that people were familiar about.
The Sun Court was the complete opposite. They’re the order, the responsibility, and the rejection of one’s instinct.
Fae already long forgot why the two Courts were at each other throat. But they didn’t care. The conflict had been going for so long that they became mortal enemies.
After the Mass Awakening, Mater began to train the human on how to use their power. He had the help from his servants.
