After My Rebirth, My Husband Pampers Me Everyday!
Chapter 58: LIFE WAS TOO HARD TO BE BURDENED BY ALPHA PATRIARCHY
Liuxian walked into the boardroom at nine fifteen.
He set his briefcase down and looked at the room.
"I apologize for walking out yesterday," he said. "It was an emergency and it required my immediate attention. It will not happen again." He looked at the documents on the table. "We will resume from where we left off. Zhang Wei will handle the details of compensation."
Zhang Wei, standing near the door with his tablet, nodded without looking up.
The meeting resumed.
Two hours later Liuxian leaned back in his chair and looked at Zhang Wei across the cleared table.
"What does the rest of the day look like?"
Zhang Wei scrolled through his tablet.
"Meeting with Chairman Yang of Yang Entertainment at four this afternoon. Then dinner at seven, Rhode Hotel with Dia An."
Liuxian was quiet for a moment.
"Yang.." he said.
"Yes sir. Yang Jianming. Chairman and founder of Yang Entertainment."
"Is Yang Limo the chairman’s son?"
Zhang Wei looked up from the tablet. "Yes sir. Yang Limo, only son of Yang Jianming. Currently returning from three years of study in the United States. He arrived in China this morning."
Liuxian looked at him.
"Zhang Wei."
"Sir."
"Why was he not in the background report on Guiying? I found out this morning that they were childhood friends. I don’t like blind spots."
Zhang Wei had the particular expression of someone accepting a fair criticism without making excuses about it.
"I apologize, sir," he said. "Yang Limo was not flagged because his documented contact with Guiying had been minimal for the past three years, being abroad. I should have caught the earlier connection. I’ll do better."
Liuxian looked at him for a moment.
"It’s alright," he said. "Just don’t let it happen again." He looked at the time. "Yang Jianming is coming to introduce his son to me. I’m sure of it."
Zhang Wei nodded. "That would be my assessment as well."
"Good." Liuxian stood and reached for his jacket. "I want close relationships with my Omega’s friends. That is not optional." He paused. "Make sure I have everything relevant on Yang Limo before four."
"Already compiling it.." Zhang Wei said.
Liuxian nodded. He looked out the window for a moment, his hands in his pockets, and then said, without turning around, "How is Moying?"
Zhang Wei was quiet for half a second.
"Still in his hiding place, Sir." he said. "He’s been away from home for five months now."
Liuxian turned. "Contact him. Tell him to come home. Tell him I will personally ensure they do not force him into any marriage arrangement. He has my word on that."
"I’ll reach out today." Zhang Wei said.
"Good." Liuxian picked up the document "Let’s give him a job, can’t force a working man to get married. Plus he’s way too young, only twenty three. Tiantian already has four kids, they can wait a while for another set of grandchildren."
Zhang Wei nodded, the second miss was the jewel of the Liu family, who was lucky enough to marry the laugh of her life at twenty two.
It’s been six years since then and the couple has had four children over that duration.
"Now that you mentioned, your niece’s birthday is next week.."
Liuxian brought the paper, and pinched his nose.
"Don’t tell me it’s—"
"Yup. It’s, little miss Yaoyao’s birthday.."
"It’s impossible to get her a gift. She’s so picky.."
Zhang Wei nodded, it was hell getting her a gift last year.
"Well maybe you and the young master can brainstorm together, maybe he can paint something that she likes."
-_-
"Guiying’s not a painter.."
"Well, you never know. You don’t know his talents, he might be really good at it if he tried.."
Liuxian nodded and turned to the documents signing them one after the other until he stopped at one.
"Moying likes to sing right?"
Zhang Wei raised a brow, why was the question directed at him? Wasn’t he the young master’s older brother?
"Moying likes to sing and he’s quite good at it. Have him return to the city as soon as possible, he will get signed into Yang Entertainment."
Zhang Wei sighed, what a meddlesome older brother. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Very well. I shall head out to continue my own work, I’ll return with lunch and then come to find you around three-forty five pm. Have a pleasant day, Sir."
Liuxian nodded and resumed signing off the document, that silly younger brother of his. If running away was truly the solution to problems, he would have done that a long time ago.
Their parents were too traditional.
Marriage, perfectionism.
They were never truly satisfied.
And they would lose themselves trying to please them.
Tiantian was lucky to marry someone she liked, but he didn’t want to play that bet with Moying as well.
Marriage was a forever thing.
He didn’t want this brother to fall into a trap, plus the boy was only twenty three years ago, he still had a lot of time ahead of him.
He stacked the documents he had signed to a corner and counted the remaining ones. He made it his mission to finish his daily task, he didn’t like carrying over to the next day and handling more tasks.
Agreeing to meet Chairman Yang would mean agreeing to invest in Yang Entertainment and he was only doing this because of his brother.
He had only invested more into the ORF because of Guiying and for the cause.
Life was too hard to be burdened by Alpha patriarchy.
And Guiying was an obvious supporter of the cause.
To the point he’d rather get slapped.
Thinking about that, he should ensure those good for nothings lose everything.
Their son Liao Changsheng, would never step out of the prison.
Who knows what he would do to that omega, his distress will in turn cause his own Omega to act and he didn’t want that.
Liuxian leaned back after a while, he was done with his morning tasks so he could relax a little and prepare for lunch.
Maybe he’d call Guiying and see if he had returned home.
Knowing him, he’d probably be asleep by now.
