Chapter 404: Reconvening

It took a little while before I was able to find where I was supposed to go as I’m not familiar with the layout of this place yet. This is only the second time I’ve been here after all.

Either way, I soon stumbled into one of the Emberin’s as I wandered around. And it just so happened to be Zatyra, the Emberin of Fire, and the first Emberin Lady I met.

"Ah, Traytora. I take it you’re the one who had us all called here?"

"Correct. I’ll explain why when we start once we’ve all gathered. Speaking of, is everyone here yet?"

"Ah, I’m actually the last to arrive as I was busy organising."

"Eh? Really? Then we should get going."

The two of us then rushed to the same meeting hall as before. Thankfully though, because I had only ordered for the top people to arrive, we didn’t have to go up into our assigned seats and just gathered on the main floor.

When we entered through the doors and found the other four Emberin’s gathered alongside Krytaraa and Trayzara.

Krytaraa was the first of them to speak up, "Good, you’re here. I hope you can now explain to us what exactly is happening."

Which is exactly what I did. And I decided to start from the time when I went into that secret spatial dungeon realm thingy, glossing over parts of it and just giving them the major points such as my new Bloodline and my huge increase in my stats.

After I went on to explain everything that happened when I returned to Krara city, including about how there was once an orphanage there, meeting Shirayaa, all the temporal shit that had seemingly taken place and the fact that two of my friends seem to have not been affected while one is currently unaccounted for.

When I finished recounting what happened, I let them all contemplate and digest all this information in silence.

"Hmm... That doesn’t explain why you wanted to meet us though? According to Krytaraa, you wanted to gather everyone to check up on us? What for?" Katzyrr, the Emberin of Justice questioned.

"To make sure that the plans to eradicate the Cult of Fate from this kingdom haven’t changed."

"Oh, is that why we’re moving our forces around?" The Emberin of Wealth and Resources, Tryzara, questioned.

"Yes, and as you can see, they’ve somehow managed to manipulate all of time. Which is why I’m here, to make sure that everything is still as I remember it, and if not, to correct it."

Trayzara then suggested, "Right, so what exactly was the plan? It’ll probably easier for us to just get to work enacting it as you remember than having us explain what we’re doing and you correct us as we go along."

That was actually a good idea, because I was thinking of doing it the long and incredibly inefficient way.

"There are a few things that I have to get out of the way before doing that. The first of which being, the oligarchs, the people who funded the Sect, what is your stance on them?" I wanted to make sure that they weren’t still in power, as they were either just plainly corrupt, part of the cult, or corrupt because of the cult.

"Them? They’ve been dealt with after they... Uhh... Did it have something to do with you?" Zatyraa asked, having forgot exactly what happened.

Seems this time manipulation has had more of an effect than I first thought. Which isn’t good because now I have to explain all that to them as well.

I sighed and began explaining that course of events, from me being kidnapped, what they planned to do to me, Vorzara’s existence and what he did, all the way to the decisions made for what was to be done with them and their assets.

When I finished recounting those events, the Sect members were obviously furious with the way I had been treated by the oligarchs.

And I do understand them and their rage. After all, the pure burning hatred I feel for Vorzara and his ilk is immeasurable.

But, they’d already dealt with them, so now wasn’t the time to be stoking the flames for this issue any further.

"Ahem." I coughed to get their attention and they calmed down a little bit, but they were still very angry. "You’ve already dealt with them, so focus that anger on something more important, like the Cult of Fate."

Most of them listened to what I had to say, but Katzyrr and Trayzara still seemed a little annoyed that they couldn’t, or rather weren’t allowed to vent their frustrations. To be fair though, I didn’t say they couldn’t do it, just that now wasn’t the time for such things.

Anyways, now that I’d explained all of this, I decided to move on and explain everything that I could remember from the meeting we had at the end of last year. Starting with the three people that were cultists and had infiltrated the Sect and the Nobles.

"So that’s why the Seeker’s missing." Krytaraa exclaimed in understanding. "I wondered where she went."

"She went missing?" Zakyrta, Emberin of Knowledge and History, stammered in a befuddled tone. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"Yes, and now we know why." Krytaraa affirmed. "Please continue."

I did continue, this time going into the plans of expelling the cult from the kingdom, starting with the places that were to be targeted, the people who ran them, and finally, the steps needed to be taken to assure that they cannot ever infiltrate this kingdom or any of its major organisations ever again.

It was a lot for them to take in, so I explained it all slowly so that they could digest it all as easily as possible.

A little after I finished explaining everything, they all started to talk about the changes they would need to make, which honestly weren’t all that many. Really, all they had to do was rearrange some things because there were now more targets to, well, target.

"Now that that’s out of the way, all that needs to be done is get you a proper place to stay." Krytaraa said conclusively.

"Eh? What do you mean by that? Don’t I already have a place to stay here?"

"Well, not exactly. You see, you’re currently occupying one of the guest rooms, which isn’t a problem per se." Krytaraa said somewhat awkwardly as she waved her hands dismissively, "But I think it would be better if you had your own residence."

"And where exactly would you find a place for me to live?" I inquired.

"We actually just recently acquired many estates from the oligarchs we purged, so you can have your pick from any of them actually." Trayzara spoke up with a cheery smile, as if she couldn’t be happier that this was brought up. "In fact, I have one that I’d heavily recommend you choose."

That last part was said with a lot of emphasis on the word heavily. I believe it belonged to someone she either didn’t like or... Actually, I don’t know why else she would have a reason to suggest such a thing.

"Uh, sure, I guess. I mean why not? I’ll take one, so long as my friends can stay there."

"Well, it’ll be your manor, so you can invite anyone you like to live there." Zatyraa affirmed.

"Wait, manor?" I sputtered out in surprise. I though I was just going to get a house to live in, not a fully-fledged manor.

"Well yes, of course. These people were rich snobs, of course they were going to live in grand manors."

I... Guess I shouldn’t be surprised by that. Still though, I wasn’t expecting them to just give away such a thing.

"You’re really willing to give me an entire manor? Just like that?" I wanted to make sure that this was real, and not some kind of jest.

"Yes, so course. We can’t keep a hold of them ourselves forever now, can we?" Trayzara said reassuringly.

Tryzara butted in with her knowledge and experience, "I mean, we probably could, but we just don’t need so many estates in our possession. Plus, people might not appreciate the fact that we’ve gotten a hold of so much property in such a manner."

Before I, or anyone else could respond to this, a Custodian came bursting into the room in a panic.

She then shouted urgently, "There’s a demon in the building!"

There was a momentary silence in the room before I spoke up, "Are you talking about me, or the one I left in my room?"

The Custodian was taken aback by this, but she went on to further clarify, "She’s a Succubus."

"Yeah, I summoned her here. She’s my Succubus. And also my friend."

This just further confused the Custodian, especially since none of the Emberin Ladies seemed all too worried about this. Nor the Futaris or the Empyric Coil for that matter.
