Xyrin Empire
Chapter 1111: The Eve
"When Sky City is activated, all Mother Star devices that were previously on standby will reboot, and the automatic repair systems hidden deep within space will check for spatial errors. Broken space structures will be reorganized and reintegrated into the current space, so from now on, this universe will no longer have so many small parallel spaces. Various data that have already changed will gradually be corrected to system default values, and the shattered lands adrift in Other Space will form a whole. Ordinary races will no longer have the opportunity to set foot on those lands through any form of Space Gate: unless they can master spacefaring technology, and you permit them to board the Imperial Planet."
A finely detailed model, constantly changing, floated before Orelia, displaying the possible changes this world might undergo after Sky City is activated. Those Lost Worlds disappeared one by one, forming a complete Mother Star and two Colonization Stars originally located near the Mother Star. The Mother Continent was marked in gray, and seeing this scene, I couldn’t help but feel curious: "What will happen to the Mother Continent?"
"A world of insignificant low-level civilization, merely situated within the Imperial Dominions," Orelia said indifferently. "They will lose the ’Lost Worlds’ and need to rebuild many knowledge systems. The intelligent creatures on this planet emerged and thrived after the Fifteen-day Zone Capital World was struck. After the Sky Zone Capital was severely damaged, a considerable portion of basic data in this universe was altered, and according to subordinate observations, the data deviations are significant. Those ordinary civilizations created their own cultures according to the changed World Law we now observe. When those basic data are corrected, the knowledge they possess will naturally become obsolete—they will need to relearn the universe."
"It’s akin to suddenly telling Earth’s scientists that in reality, one plus one equals three, prompting the entire Human Civilization to start over," I frowned. "This means the entire world’s Order will be destroyed!"
"Not destruction, but rebuilding, healing, Majesty," Orelia "looked" at me. "We are restoring the world to its original state; what you see now is a distorted world. These fragmented spaces, allowing ordinary people to freely enter Imperial territories, even the Guardian Dragons in this space, are all results of distortion, including the erroneous historical records of the Empire—this is a disease we must heal to restore the world to health. Of course, the decision lies with you. After all, the native civilization of this world will indeed suffer losses during this process, and damaging a developing civilization is indeed taboo for the Empire."
Orelia mentioned the record discrepancies of the Guardian Dragons regarding Imperial history. Here, an explanation is needed: comparing Orelia’s words with Char’s tales of the Dragon Clan, we found errors in the Guardian Dragons’ portrayal of the Empire’s legends, such as the specific timing of concept division and memories of the Old Empire’s customs, the most notable being the dragons’ unfamiliarity with Imperial Starships and the mistaken timing of world fragmentation; these errors arose not only due to the passage of time but also significantly because these Guardian Dragons were affected by ’concept division,’ leading to forgotten information—according to Orelia, this is also a ’disease’ needing treatment.
I noticed Shajina and Sona’s bodies were tense, their expressions fearful and uneasy. Though they could not comprehend what ’basic data’ or ’World Law’ meant, they understood what was happening to their home would definitely not be good. They were somewhat at a loss, ultimately directing their gaze toward me and Sandora for help.
Actually, I too was contemplating this issue: the process to awaken the Imperial Mother Star would destroy all existing Order in this world, potentially knocking all races of the Mother Continent back into a primitive state, leading to massive loss of innocent lives and worldwide turmoil, which even the Empire’s subsequent aid couldn’t fully remedy—after all, their civilization would be lost. So, is such a price acceptable?
Though harsh to say, from the Empire’s ruler’s viewpoint, I must consider Imperial interests, and such sacrifices are worthwhile—As Orelia said, the current Mother Continent holds zero value for the Empire, essentially a place not requiring any attention. However, I thought about it and felt a decision couldn’t be made so lightly. After all, this scenario differs from the situation when Kepulu underwent Hot Restart; there, the arrow was on the string, leaving no choice. But now, I fear there is considerable room to maneuver.
"Is there any way to avoid such a result?" I looked at Orelia.
According to Orelia’s attitude, she seemed almost indifferent to the catastrophe the Mother Continent would face. Perhaps out of the Xyrin Apostle’s custom, she may feel some regret for the extinction of such a Wisdom Civilization, but that’s about it—for the recently awakened her, the intelligent beings on the Mother Continent were just unfamiliar low-level races. Out of custom, the Old Empire might not easily destroy such civilizations and even might protect them to some extent if necessary, but if Imperial interests require it, such civilizations can be sacrificed at any time.
"It is the system’s predetermined process," Orelia seemed to hesitate slightly, but what she said next surprised me, "Yet there is indeed a way to change it—we can customize this world a second time. After Sky City is activated, this world will be transformed; the reason being everything here is related to remnants of the former Empire, even much of the basic information of this world secretly houses three hundred of our commanders. If we want to avoid change, the only way is to extract all information related to Imperial relics and isolate it into a Parallel World."
"Isolate it into a Parallel World?" I glanced at the model in front of Orelia. "Does that mean taking down those Imperial facilities and putting them into another space?"
Orelia was silent for a moment, hesitating as she spoke: "Actually... not quite. It’s not merely placing Imperial facilities in Other Space, though that, too, must be done. To create the Parallel World effect the subordinate referred to, we must physically isolate all things related to the Empire, as well as law isolation. A large space must be created based on the existing world, using the normal laws of this world from seventy thousand years ago within the large space while keeping the external situation. Over ninety percent of Imperial facilities possess Space Transmission capabilities, enabling easy transfer into that Other Space and generation of a World Barrier outside it. The impact on the existing world would thus be minimized, and those natives will still be somewhat affected, such as the disappearance of ruins like the ’Sky Tower,’ which they are familiar with. However, those Space Fragments will be preserved, and further, they won’t need to reconstruct their worldview."
"This is an acceptable solution," Big Sister said, carrying a plate of vegetarian dishes from the kitchen, nodding, "Removing Imperial facilities from their lives is also beneficial. Such crucial things shouldn’t be excavated repeatedly."]
Shajina and Sona immediately hung their heads in embarrassment—likely because they were among those frequently excavating, as mentioned by Big Sister.
I used Orelia’s mentioned concept as a mental exercise and suddenly felt enlightened: "Hey, doesn’t this create a Divine Realm? Many RPGs say the world is divided into several areas, mortals living on the continent, while the Divine Realm is in another space, obeying rules different from those in the Mortal World. You place everything related to the Old Empire in other spaces, leaving the Mother Continent’s people outside—isn’t this a classic ’Divine Realm’?" I shared my thoughts, noting that the term Divine Realm here differs from ’Star Domain Divine Realm’; it’s simply following classic RPG setup and the ’Divine Realm’ as understood by the Mother Continent’s people.
Orelia pondered this, calmly asking me: "Could you explain what RPG is?"
Bubbles immediately jumped up: "I know, I know! That’s the world’s truth. I’ll demonstrate it sometime!"
"Oh?" Orelia’s radiance began pulsating. "Has the Empire made new advances in edge technology?"
I pressed my head as I pushed Bubbles down: "Ignore her. Most times, what she says isn’t of the same dimension as us."
The basic process and method to awaken the Old Empire’s mysterious side relics were thus finalized. It was a plan everyone could accept (Okay, truthfully, Orelia still had some complaints, feeling such changes would consume more Energy and resources, being a minor waste. However, both me and Big Sister believe that since we aren’t lacking in time or resources, expending a small amount for peace of mind is worthwhile). We then resolved breakfast first; Orelia didn’t need to eat and continued absorbing sunlight on the terrace, and after breakfast, everyone returned to the Forgotten Garden together—we had to leave this space and say goodbye to a certain giant here. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The ancient Guardian stood beside the central hub of the city, seeming to have been waiting a long time.
Last time we left the Forgotten Garden, we had just learned the truth about the Fifteen-day Zone, and everyone’s minds were in chaos. We even departed hastily without properly greeting the loyal Guard Captain. Meeting again this time, he remains at his post, before the Relay Point at the Forgotten Garden’s center, saluting this direction long before we reached him."
"Welcome back, Majesty. The city’s operation is running smoothly, and the relevant operation report has been submitted to the Number One storage point."
The Giant spoke with a rumbling voice, his gaze falling upon the Big Sister: After the sealing in the Hall of Gathering was undone, the Guard Captain has now recovered past memories and automatically identifies Big Sister as his Monarch. The countless years of vigilance seemed like a regular sentry duty for this Giant. Upon seeing his Monarch and commanders again, he showed no excessive emotion beyond necessity, merely reporting his work as calmly as a sentinel finishing a shift.
The Big Sister smiled at the Giant and pointed to me: "He is your Majesty now, I am no longer the Emperor of the Fifteenth Day Zone."
"Understood," the Giant seemed to have a faint smile, though not obvious, "I’ve received orders from the command system. The highest authority in the Sky Zone has been logged as changed, but until the integration of the two authority systems is complete, you remain my Monarch."
"Is that so," the Big Sister smiled ambiguously. To her, the emperor’s authority seemed like an unreal phantom, and she could never imagine what she’d be like as the Imperial Emperor. However, faced with the Giant’s persistence, she couldn’t say much more, "Anyway, thank you for your hard work over the years."
"It’s a mission." The Giant said indifferently, as if it were his catchphrase.
The Big Sister looked at the magnificent and ancient mysterious city, then let her gaze extend to the distant horizon, reaching the invisible Dragon Mountains, she suddenly seemed to have an idea: "Orelia, how big is this space?"
"All space fragments (Lost Worlds) have the same net space volume, roughly equal to the size of the entire Constant Star System before the Mother Star split. However, based on the material content and the information radiation range of various facilities within the space fragments, the perceivable range is very small. The smallest could only be several kilometers in radius, but by adding more Imperial facilities within the space, this usable range can be expanded until it reaches the net space limit. After that, to expand the space further, we’d need to use Shadow Space Technology."
"That big?" Big Sister exclaimed in surprise, "You mean each Lost World is actually the size of a Constant Star System?"
Orelia nodded.
"So, everything from the Mother Star can actually fit here, right?" Big Sister gestured to the clouds around them.
"Yes, although the perceivable space boundaries are only tens of thousands of kilometers from here, this space distance is unlockable. You mean to say..."
"Let’s use this as an Other Space for reviving the Mother Star!" Big Sister said with a smile, "Re-establishing a Parallel Space isn’t very time-consuming, and since this already holds the Old Empire’s largest relic, we might as well utilize it. Once sealed, it’ll be fine. Anyway, to the Mother Continent, the Giant Dragon Kingdom is legendary. Completely sealing this place won’t impact the people of the Mother Continent. I’m just not sure if the Dragon Clan here will be affected by the world’s rule change..."
"Not at all," Orelia understood Big Sister’s intent, "The Guardian Dragons of this space are remnants of the Old Empire. Although biological, they’re essentially one of the space’s ’facilities’. Regardless, in transferring various Empire facilities to Parallel Space, these dragons must be moved as well, and they’ll adapt well to changes in world law during that process. Your plan is perfect for avoiding extra trouble."
Once this decision was made, Big Sister turned to the Giant waiting for orders beside her: "Guard Captain, you’ve understood our plan now, right? We’ll gather all relics of the Mother Star and place them in this space."
"Understood."
"Then I ask you to continue as the Guardian of the new capital," Big Sister smiled gracefully at the Giant, "This is your new post."
The Giant genuinely smiled this time, then firmly gripped the Lightning Scepter and struck it against the ground: "Yes! The Guard understands!"
After bidding farewell to Char and others, we left the Giant Dragon Kingdom and returned to the Mother Continent.
The first stop was naturally the "Holy Capital" to gather everyone and see how the town had progressed during our absence—though, in fact, there was no need to worry. With zealous followers possessing clear faith and True God’s blessings, boundless enthusiasm and efficiency ensured construction. Added to this was the presence of an experienced Old Master, who was once a noble, overseeing the town. Our only concern was whether the town’s expansion was too fast. In just a few days, construction sites outside the town had almost doubled, with the town center slowly undergoing meticulous renovation. Meanwhile, on the town’s outskirts, there was an intense hustle and bustle, as if building a city from scratch on bare earth. Though the grand architecture wasn’t yet visible, the planned layout of the sites alone hinted at this city becoming a jaw-dropping Miracle City of the South.
The main planners included three individuals. First was Lilina. Although she graduated in psychology, who knows what else she knows? Many religious buildings and cities of the Life God Sect were her designs, and she understood Blood Elf construction processes well. With some modifications, she could adapt such jumbled knowledge to the Crow God Sect’s Holy Capital. Another planner was Vanilla—though just in name. Less than a month ago, she was a country girl living on picking herbs deep in the mountains. She had no insight into city planning but, as the Crow God Sect’s Pope and Spiritual Leader, she had to be the "Chief Planner" for Holy Capital construction. Finally, there was a relatively unfamiliar middle-aged man I hadn’t seen before. I only knew he came to the Holy Capital with a wave of refugees, originally seeking mere sustenance. Upon seeing some city drainage plans, he casually shared his thoughts, overheard by the Cat Lady Habi, who recommended him to Lilina. Upon inquiry, it turned out this scruffy beard, who seemed to have not eaten properly for half a century, was once a renowned city architect in the northern region. After a King’s Monument he built collapsed, he was accused of "cursing the kingdom’s fate" and exiled south. Lilina immediately put him in charge of Holy Capital’s architectural planning.
"It’s not my fault it got struck by Lightning, right?" The scruffy-bearded uncle would always say indignantly when recounting his exile, "It was that muddleheaded king who insisted on having his sword as a decoration on top of the monument."
The construction of the Holy Capital was proceeding smoothly, so we didn’t need to invest much additional effort in that regard. Next, we started preparing the reactivation of the Mother Star (Mysterious Side) and aligning its affairs with those of the Empire’s direct territories.
The process of reactivating the Mother Star (Mysterious Side) was mostly handled by Orelia, requiring little of our involvement. Therefore, we contemplated—
—preparing a series of "Divine Miracles" or something else, announcing to everyone in the world that "God" intends to close the door. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to vote for it on Qidian (qidian.com). Your support is my greatest motivation.)
