World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 64: Departure
The night ended uneventfully, and Leon was woken up by Cassie the next morning.
"Hm...?"
He stirred awake, rubbing his eyelids to shake off the sleep.
"It’s almost 9 AM, boss," She said, her lips twitching.
"Unexpected." Leon sighed, then stood up. "I’ll join you guys downstairs."
Cassie nodded and stepped back. Just as she was about to leave, Leon’s brows creased.
"Wait," He said, confusion in his eyes. "How did you get in? I’m sure I locked the door last night."
Cassie froze, then lowered her head in shame. "I... I know how to open doors without the key."
"Lockpicking?" He was faintly surprised, but soon dismissed it. "Alright, you can go."
She nodded, then walked out of the room. Leon finally turned his gaze to Thyra who was seated in a chair, looking at him with her usual playful smile.
"You didn’t wake me," He said in a displeased tone. "Though, I didn’t ask you to so you’re not at fault."
Resting her chin on her palm, she said, "I wanted to, but watching you sleep and murmur my name has an alluring charm I can’t resist~"
Instantly, Leon’s eyes went wide. "Wait, what? Murmuring your name? Absolutely impossible."
Thyra winced, pretending to be hurt. "I was just joking, yet you’re so against it. I’m appalled."
Leon’s shock shifted to displeasure again, and he couldn’t help but sigh.
"Ugh, you’re really something else, woman."
Standing up from the bed, he went into the bathroom to take his bath. As he was brushing his teeth, he heard her voice outside.
"Leon, do you know I can see through walls?"
He froze, his head instantly whipping in her direction. Although he couldn’t see through the wall, his glare seemed hot enough to be considered a heat vision.
"Seriously?! Don’t you get tired of teasing?" He asked, exasperation slipping into his tone.
He felt like his mental health was deteriorating the more he stayed with her.
"I’m sorry, Leon~" She purred, her voice turning seductive. "I’m a half-succubus, remember~? It’s just my nature to tease..."
In the bathroom, Leon felt goosebumps sprout all over his body, and his morning erection returned.
Gritting his teeth, he growled. "Damned demon, if you keep this up, you might not like the consequences."
Giggling, Thyra asked, "What consequences, Little Leon~?"
He exhaled, his black eyes darkening a shade further. "If you’ve read the novels I downloaded, you’ll know I’m not innocent in the slightest, and I’m not a saint who is without desires either."
She fell silent, causing him to sigh in relief. That threat was enough, then. Just as he continued brushing, he heard the bathroom door click open.
Without hesitation, he dashed at the door and pushed back. "Come on, Thyra! Stop!"
Half an hour later, he appeared downstairs with a dark expression. He was currently clad in his Asura Armor, wearing the Combat Gear underneath the armor.
The Jade Greatsword was in its sheath, strapped comfortably to his back. Every other person in the team was ready too.
Selene was wearing her silver battle dress, with the blue bracelet on her wrist. Unsurprisingly, the dress fit her well, accentuating her beautiful curves. The dress exposed the smooth white skin of her shoulders that looked breathtaking under the rays of sunlight spilling from the window.
Beside her, Gwen wore an armless police bulletproof jacket, strapped tightly to her figure. Unfortunately, the formal uniform did poorly in hiding the massive curves of her bosom. All it could do was squeeze them into an attention-grabbing bundle.
Reymond stood next to them, wearing a set of combat gear with police body armor over it as extra protection. His hair was slicked back, and his handsome face radiated complete confidence.
’Interesting,’ Leon thought, then glanced at his own squad.
Fel was wearing the sleeveless protective vest he had given her yesterday, hiding her stomach from view.
Leon was briefly disappointed by the absence of such a beautiful sight. Nodding at her, he shot a quick glance at the rest.
Just like Reymond, they were wearing the police body armors on their combat gears, giving them the look of a standard unit.
Leon showed a faint smile, momentarily forgetting his earlier scuffle with the demon behind him.
"I apologize for the delay."
He said as he descended the stairs, locking eyes with Selene. She sized him up, noticing the earpod-like device on his left ear.
"What’s that?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Oh, this?" He tapped his ear. "It’s just a weird earpod I found in the room. Nothing significant."
Nodding, Selene looked away and began walking towards the door.
"We should get going. Captain Jester is probably waiting to see us off."
Gwen followed behind her, smiling as she said, "You’re right. Although our stay here was short, it was quite relaxing."
Miguel smiled bitterly. "I’m going to miss the comfort of my bed."
Chuckling, Reymond slapped his back lightly. "Don’t worry. Next time, we’ll be lodging in a five-star hotel."
Richard’s eyes instinctively widened, and he blurted, "Isn’t that expensive?"
Everyone looked at him weirdly, and he realized his blunder.
"Right. Every property is free now."
He facepalmed, but smiled when he felt Little West rubbing its head against him fondly.
"Quit the pep talk and quicken your pace."
Selene’s cold voice reached the back, causing them to flinch.
Soon, they all arrived at the gate of the camp where their porcupine bus was parked.
Captain Jester, Lieutenant Zhong, Sergeant Lauren, and Felix were there to see them off. Also, there were three other students standing by the bus.
’Only three? Disappointing, but relieving,’ Leon thought as he glanced at them.
"It’s really sad to see you guys leave us, but I can understand your reasons." Captain Jester said as he came forward.
He shook hands with Leon and Reymond, then smiled at the rest.
"When the order is restored, I hope to see you guys again," He said, smiling warmly.
Leon nodded in agreement. "You’re right. I hope so too, Captain."
They exchanged pleasantries for a few more minutes, then the students got into the bus with the other three who weren’t staying behind.
Reymond decided to drive the car today, so Miguel sat beside him. Soon, the bus drove onto the streets, departing under the warm gaze of the police department.
