BOOM!

An unlucky zombie was caught directly under his hammer, immediately turning into meat paste on the ground. The other zombies were forced back a few steps from the shockwave, but soon spilled forward again.

"Kill them all."

Following Leon’s order, his squad of five descended on the zombies like grim reapers. Marie fought fiercely, her spear cleaving two heads with a single swing.

Her Jungle Predator trait was quite similar to Leon’s Martial Mastery trait. This gave her the ability to move unhindered on the battlefield. She was like a predator let loose in a chicken farm.

The zombies that came to devour the humans were being ripped apart by her crimson spear.

Just like her, Cassie was doing exceptionally well. She only had her Poison Blade as a weapon, but it was incredibly deadly despite being a short dagger.

She never aimed for any other part of the zombies except their heads, stabbing with accurate precision.

[You have slain a Level 15 Normal Zombie!]

Not even a few seconds after she killed one, her dagger had already pierced into the skull of another zombie.

[You have slain a Level 15 Normal Zombie!]

On the other side, Richard, Fel, and Little West were working in tandem. The zombies that wanted to attack them from behind were torn to pieces by the swift mutated cat, while the two humans killed the zombies before them.

Although Fel was timid, she seemed to have developed some courage especially when faced with danger. The zombies that had come to attack them numbered around a hundred, so even she felt pressure.

Using her spear, she would stab the zombie heads, slice their necks open, or even skewer them and throw them into the river below.

Before her, the zombies were somewhat helpless. Of course, this was only because they couldn’t get close to her.

Fel didn’t have much close combat experience, and her spear techniques were things Marie had taught her.

Even then, she was doing fine. After all, she wasn’t alone.

"All of you can go die."

Richard said solemnly, using one hand to push up his glasses and slicing through the neck of a zombie with the sword in his other hand.

[You have slain a Level 15 Normal Zombie!]

He frowned faintly, noticing an anomaly. All the zombies he had been killing were all on the same level, and he wasn’t sure why.

Yet the information made him feel uneasy.

Zombies who were at the same level of strength felt too deliberate. Even the scattered horde that was flowing through Manhattan wasn’t like this, right?

Clicking his tongue, he blocked the claws of a zombie, then kicked hard against its chest. He could hear a few bones being broken, and before the zombie could recover, Little West had already torn apart its head.

[You have slain a Level 15 Normal Zombie!]

Seeing that message, Richard smiled. His Beast Tamer ability was a unique one given that he would continue to grow stronger as long as his tamed beast kills other creatures.

Of course, the power absorbed from the slain creature had to be shared between them. Still, it was a boon that he seriously enjoyed.

Under the combined attacks of the five humans and one mutated beast, all the Level 15 Zombies were killed in just a few minutes.

When the last zombie was crushed to pulp under the weight of Miguel’s hammer, everyone heaved a sigh and looked forward.

The rest of the small horde still hadn’t turned, seemingly engrossed in whatever they were looking at.

Leon frowned and turned to Marie.

"You want to say something?"

She nodded and answered, "All the zombies I killed were Level 15."

Walking over, Cassie and Richard echoed, "Same."

This made Leon’s frown deepen, and he realized something.

’The first ones we faced were Level 9. Now these ones are Level 15. Could it be that their strength is equal per ring?’

He felt annoyed and uneasy. Annoyed because the zombies were practically blocking their path when more zombies could rush onto the bridge from Manhattan, and uneasy because he knew that the zombies’ uniform levels was not natural at all.

’We’ll just have to hasten killing them.’

He raised a hand to the hilt of his weapon, then pulled out the black greatsword.

Bam!

It struck the bridge with a bit of force, spreading a small tremor from the impact.

"Selene, Reymond. It’s time we move personally. Gwen, you support us from here."

Leon stepped forward, calmly walking towards the clustered zombie horde with his sword resting on his shoulder.

He stayed in the middle while Selene and Reymond stayed on his left and right respectively.

When they finally got into a range of five meters, the zombies could no longer ignore their presence and turned to the humans.

Their grotesque mouths opened to reveal rows of yellow and black teeth with strips of meat hanging between them. Without delay, the zombies lunged at the three humans.

Leon grabbed the hilt of his sword with both hands, then swung it horizontally.

Bang!

The first few zombies to reach him had their heads burst into blood, flesh, and brain matter that splattered onto the ground.

[You have slain a Level 21 Normal Zombie!]

[You have slain a Level 21 Normal Zombie!]

[You have slain a Level 21...]

Seeing the messages, Leon’s eyes narrowed, and he suddenly increased his aggressiveness.

On his left, Selene created over fifteen ice bullets and sent them barreling towards the zombies attacking her.

The ice bullets struck the zombies’ heads, neck, torso, and limbs. However, there was one effect that they all had in common. Every part that was pierced by her attack immediately froze over, becoming stiff and uncomfortable for the zombies.

Flicking her fingers, she shot more ice bullets that killed the zombies that were merely paralyzed.

Although the zombies were Level 21, she frowned at how weak and ordinary they were.

On the other side of the bridge, Reymond was a blur of lightning. Although the zombies greatly outnumbered him, his speed exceeded theirs by a great margin.

Slice! Slice! Slice!

He moved unhindered within the horde, reaping the lives of the zombies as if he were harvesting crops on the farm.

Of course, he didn’t dare go too deep. After all, he couldn’t risk getting scratched by the zombie claws.

From behind, sharp arrows descended and struck down a few zombies, killing them on the spot. Although Gwen wasn’t suited for killing zombies, her precision and telekinesis ability made her deadly.

In less than two minutes, they had cleared all the Level 21 zombies and could finally see what they had been observing in the middle.

When Leon’s eyes landed on it, his lips parted in surprise.
