Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree
Chapter 746 - 715: Experiment_2
The final Fireball formed was only the size of a fist, smooth as a mirror, quietly floating, yet the surrounding light twisted fiercely due to its presence.
Duke gently pushed it toward a several-meter-square special alloy target.
At the moment of contact, there was no loud noise, only a deep hiss as if space was torn, and blinding white light swallowed everything.
As the light dispersed, the alloy target had vanished, leaving behind a pit several meters deep, with edges appearing molten like glass, and the bottom material completely vaporized.
From the visual effects, the spell Sunburst seemed rather unimpressive, almost without anything special.
But after Duke’s tests, actually, the single-point energy intensity of this spell is the highest, far surpassing wide-range magic like Storm Thunder Prison.
Sunburst’s energy concentration is extremely high, yet it doesn’t emit any intense energy waves.
If the enemy underestimates this magic, they can easily suffer great losses.
[Sunburst: LV1 (13/1000)]
Level 2 Magic testing continued, and Duke planned to continue testing the Level 2 spells with Light Attribute and Dark Attribute.
In Shadow Valley, the space in front of Duke seemed to have been infused with dark ink, as a slowly rotating shadowy vortex expanded silently, with a diameter of about five meters. The vortex’s bottomless center emitted a strange force field that engulfed light and subdued energy.
Duke fired a powerful Ray of Light at the vortex, and as the light beam approached the vortex’s edge, it noticeably bent and dispersed, eventually being fully consumed by the shadow, only causing an imperceptible ripple.
He also tried Fireball, Ice Cone, Wind Blade, and the results were similar—once these energy attacks entered the vortex’s influence range, they vanished as if sinking into the bottom of the sea, with their structures swiftly eroded, dismantled, and assimilated into chaotic shadow energy, in turn reinforcing the vortex’s stability.
Only pure and powerful Light Power can deliver effective impact, serving as a moving spell annihilation wall against the majority of elemental attacks.
[Shadow Abyss: LV1 (14/1000)]
Shadow Abyss, this Dark Attribute Level 2 Magic, is considered the nemesis of most Elemental Magic, able to easily dissolve attacks from many Elemental Magic.
Wizards adept in Dark Attribute have always been tricky, with a variety of strange methods, posing a thorny challenge to ordinary wizards.
However, the number of Dark Attribute wizards is also very few, with only one Wizard Clan possessing the Dark Attribute Bloodline on the West Coast.
Lastly, there are Light Attribute spells, which are the spell type that can effectively counter Dark Attribute wizards.
At the core region of the Divine Court, Light Power is like a vast sea.
Duke stood solemnly, and the mighty Power of Light surged from within him, further attracting the boundless radiance around him.
A towering twelve-meter-high angelic figure quickly coalesced behind him, with three pairs of gleaming wings of light on its back, clad in intricately magnificent golden armor, its face blurred yet filled with majesty.
In the figure’s hand, a Light Saber composed of pure holy energy shimmered brilliantly.
Duke could clearly feel the close connection between himself and this incarnation, sharing a bond in will.
With a thought, the angelic figure swung its sword, a crescent-shaped holy light slash flew swiftly, effortlessly tearing and purifying a patch of simulated dark barrier in the distance.
He thought again, and the angelic figure rushed forward, swift as light beams, wielding the Light Saber, unleashing a sacred storm that naturally suppressed and devastated all dark, impure, and undead entities.
This is not only a powerful battle avatar but also an elegant manifestation of his Light Power and an absolute deterrent against evil.
[Holy Incarnation: War Angel: LV1 (6/1000)]
Duke keenly sensed that the War Angel spell was not so simple, possibly summoning more than just a mere figure.
First, it’s an extension and sharing of perception.
Duke could see everything that the angelic figure perceived, a divine vision that filters worldly impurities, directly reaching the essence of energy and soul.
In the angel’s perception, the contrast of light and dark in the world was extremely stark, with evil, impurity, and negative energy standing out like beacons in the night, whereas the glow of goodness, order, and purity was warm and bright.
This vision could even somewhat penetrate disguises and illusions, directly targeting the intrinsic energy attribute and soul color of the target.
Moreover, Duke’s own perception seemed to have been purified and enhanced by the angel’s vision, allowing him to grasp the finer details of Light Power flow.
Finally, there’s the connection of the essence.
Duke could clearly feel the deep connection between the core energy of the angelic incarnation and the six-element composite crystal in his Spiritual Sea, with the Light Divine Status at its core.
The Divine Status pulsed slightly, providing the incarnation with the most fundamental, authoritative definition of light and a source of power.
This granted the War Angel a natural suppression of higher rank when facing other light-related entities or magic.
It’s not merely an extension of Duke’s power, but to some degree, an external manifestation and application tool of his inner light divinity.
With a thought, Duke dissipated the War Angel’s figure into countless light points, returning to the light within himself and the Divine Court.
His eyes glowed, elevating his regard for this spell even further.
The actual effect Duke manifested differed somewhat from the original spell’s effect.
The source of the difference lay in possessing the Divine Status of the God of Light, which seemingly played some unforeseen roles.
Yet the process and principle behind it remained unclear to Duke so far.
Mastering five potent Level 2 spells, Duke set his sights on a grander, more challenging, and more ambitious target—the self-research of the Earth Element ultimate magic: Earth Explosive Star.
This was not about exchanging a ready-made Magic Model; he needed to create from scratch, designing and constructing a new and complex magic touching the level of rules based on his understanding and speculation of Earth Element and Gravity Rules.
Duke did not rush to build the model; he firstly spent a considerable amount of time immersed in ancient knowledge, frontier speculations, and fragmentary records related to gravity, Earth’s core, and material aggregation found in the libraries he previously accessed, including the Arcane Master Association.
He repeatedly recalled the brief glimpse of Plane Will when advancing to Level 2, observing the profound network of rules, the obscure outlines belonging to the earth.
Duke combined insights on micro-manipulation of Earth Element from Sand Guardian and Sand Servant, along with experiences of resonating with the earth during Elementalization, to begin piecing together the theoretical puzzle for Earth Explosive Star.
The core concept gradually clarified: within a certain range, forcibly altering or greatly intensifying localized gravity, causing all qualifying earth, rock, substances, and even enemies to be irresistibly drawn toward a preset gravity singularity.
During the attraction process, the powerful gravity field itself acts as the most terrifying compressor, preliminarily crushing, fragmenting, and reshaping the attracted substances on their way to the singularity, consolidating them at the singularity into a high-density star core.
During or after the formation of the star core, injecting raging Earth Element energy, causing its internal energy to be extremely unstable, or presetting a trigger for collapse.
Ultimately, this high-density, high-energy celestial body can be directly detonated, generating a cataclysmic explosion, or temporarily maintained as a fearsome floating weapon or sealing core.
The theory is delightful, but how to implement it with a specific Magic Model poses the real challenge.
Duke began preliminary design in his laboratory, breaking down the entire spell model into several core modules.
The process of researching Earth Explosive Star was far longer and more arduous than learning those five ready-made spells.
Over two months, Duke invested almost all his energy into it. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
He underwent hundreds, thousands of failed experiments, consuming numerous experimental resources.
His lab’s record crystal was filled with various collapsed energy structure diagrams, failed parameter combinations, and a series of experiment summaries.
