Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 183 - 111: Screw You, You Again??
’From the Shadow School?’
Wei’en sized up Rudi. According to the Wizard’s Manual, the Shadow School specialized in researching Forbidden Techniques and was even more mysterious than the Ghost Soul School.
He also recalled that when he was studying the exchange list earlier, he had noticed the Ghost Soul School hadn’t offered any knowledge related to the Shadow School’s system of magic.
"This is business for the Shadow School. You all just need to provide the information. What do you say, Flanta?"
"Apologies, I’m not aware of any such thing," Flanta said, shaking his head in refusal.
’What a joke. He wasn’t an idiot.’
If he actually answered such a malicious question, the day after something happened to the new Saintess, Dawn would undoubtedly dispatch an army of Holy Professionals to the Blood Spirit School.
Of course, before that, they would have already begun their assault on the Shadow School.
"What a shame," Rudi said with a shake of his head and a soft sigh. "Luo Ke, as per our agreement, I need to provide a piece of intelligence of equal value..."
"That’s right. The information you just received was worth 50 gold pounds."
’Huh? Just that basic information is worth 50 gold pounds?’
When Wei’en heard that number, he couldn’t believe his ears. ’Is intelligence really that valuable??’
He remembered the payment he’d received for reporting information about a Holy Favored to the Ghost Soul School—1 gold pound and 5 shillings.
’Damn it.’
’That damn Liaison Officer! Screw you!’
Wei’en grew even more furious with the Liaison Officer. The disparity in payment was just too great. Forget fifty gold pounds, he hadn’t even gotten five!
"Fine," Rudi said directly. "My information concerns the Despair Sect."
"The Despair Sect?"
"That’s right. I hear they’re planning to make a move soon. As for their objective... some forbidden items."
"Forbidden items? Rudi, is this information reliable?"
Rudi stated proudly, "Shadows are everywhere."
"Then do you know which forbidden items they’re targeting?"
"That will cost you extra. If any of you are interested, please contact the Shadow School’s Intelligence Department. Of course, you can also contact us anytime for information regarding the Heroic Saintess."
With that, Rudi’s figure vanished in an instant, having departed the Nightmare Realm World directly.
"..."
The remaining few looked at each other, then quickly dropped their own pieces of intelligence before leaving the Nightmare Realm World in succession. They were clearly very interested in the information about the forbidden items.
"Mine is about the Abyssal Sect. The Favored One, Bolsen, just left the Western Continent for the Northern Continent. It’s said he went to find a prophet."
"..."
"I’m offering a piece of intelligence from the Cordo Sea. A Sea Monster has reportedly appeared near the Shetland Kingdom, and it’s caused a number of casualties..."
’That’s information worth fifty gold pounds?’
Wei’en’s heart ached. He never expected information about a Deep Sea Giant Beast to be so valuable.
The crucial part was that he had personally witnessed Rashim’s form. If he had reported that to the Ghost Soul School, he probably would have gotten a single gold pound for it.
’And then there’s the intelligence on the Favored Ones...’
’Mitra, Hector, Kali... each one is worth fifty gold pounds!’
"His Excellency Faceless?"
"Is it my turn?"
Luo Ke nodded. "Please provide a piece of intelligence worth fifty gold pounds."
Information he had recently learned flashed through Wei’en’s mind. He said thoughtfully, "The Emperor of the Cordo Sea should be arriving on the West Coast of the Shetland Kingdom soon."
"You—you mean the captain of the Black Pearl, the moving taboo, the Emperor of the Cordo Sea, Isabella Christers?"
"Yes."
Wei’en noticed the look in his eyes. ’Don’t tell me this information is too valuable,’ he thought.
In reality, the intelligence he provided was just a guess based on the Ceres Manor case and Vasquez’s stay in the Basil District.
It wasn’t even certain that the Sea Emperor would actually show up.
"Um, His Excellency Faceless, the intelligence you’ve provided is too valuable. I’m afraid I don’t have anything of equal value to exchange for it."
"Is information about the captain of the Black Pearl really that valuable?" Wei’en asked curiously.
"Of course. As long as we can confirm her time of arrival on the Eastern Continent, many fleets from the Northern, Southern, and even Western Continents can use this opportunity to safely deploy many more vessels."
Luo Ke privately wondered, ’I hope this information isn’t fake.’
"If I may ask, His Excellency Faceless, where did you obtain this information? As far as I know, that maritime taboo hasn’t made a move in a very long time."
Wei’en replied casually, "I overheard it. A few nobles failed to pay their transit fees. Besides, the Black Pearl has already attacked some ships from the Shetland City State."
"That’s good to hear."
Luo Ke breathed a sigh of relief. As long as the information was real, he could relax.
"In that case, would you be willing to accept other items of equivalent value, knowledge, or Era Relics in exchange for this intelligence?"
"Of course."
"Then what might you require?"
Wei’en looked him over. ’A modified individual from the Mechanical School?’
"I’ve recently been studying the art of puppetry. I wonder if you, Luo Ke, could provide some materials for constructing Mechanical Puppets."
"No problem!" Luo Ke said quickly. "If there’s one thing the Mechanical School has in abundance, it’s materials for making Mechanical Puppets. I can even throw in some knowledge on puppetry as a bonus."
"That would be wonderful."
Although Wei’en already had Jerry Mage’s manual, he figured it wouldn’t hurt to look at the knowledge currently possessed by the Mechanical School. Cross-referencing them would be beneficial to his studies on Mechanical Puppets.
After the two signed a transaction contract, Flanta spoke up last. "I have information on a follower of the Death Sect, currently located in Heyalmar City State in the northern part of the Western Continent."
Luo Ke nodded. "Now that is a very useful piece of intelligence. I’m sure those who aim to become Mutated Mages will be very interested."
