Chapter 1457: This seems like a bad idea...

"So this AI is what allows you to think and move?"

Though it was technically a function of AI, the way that Ye Qing Huan asked this was very strange.

It was like a kid that was encountering a toy for the first time and she was asking how it worked.

At the same time, the questions were so primitive that Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling a bit embarrassed for her.

Only the puppet’s AI didn’t seem to mind this as it answered all of the questions that Ye Qing Huan had. It seemed like the obedience module of this AI was quite good as it listened to everything that Ye Qing Huan said without any problems.

For now, it seemed like this AI was safe to use.

It didn’t seem like it would suddenly develop self awareness and turn on them.

Though even if it did, it wasn’t as if Ye Qing Huan wouldn’t be able to deal with it.

It was just troublesome because of the function of this puppet.

Losing it would mean losing this entire training hall since there was nothing that could replace the puppet in controlling this place. Lin Fan had already considered this possibility and asked Xiao Sheng about this.

Xiao Sheng confirmed that at the very least, she wouldn’t be able to do the same thing as the puppet.

To control this training hall required being able to process large amounts of information in the first place. After all, there were the cameras, the puppets, and all other mechanisms that were here.

It wasn’t something that one could do unless they were AI.

"Are there other AIs around the Dao Sect?"

Xiao Sheng thought about it before slowly saying, "It is a familiar term, but I can’t really remember anything specific."

Lin Fan wasn’t surprised to hear this answer since it only made sense that there would be other AIs if there was one in this training hall. It seemed like the things that the Dao Sect had access to was far beyond what he could imagine.

Which also meant that other than technology, there should be other things from the other continents that were also here...

"Was this why the Dao Sect suffered the disaster in the end?" Lin Fan had to seriously consider this idea.

It had been on the back of his mind the entire time, but he had never considered it seriously until now.

But with what he was seeing, it really seemed like a strong possibility.

Otherwise, what reason did someone have to do such a thing to the Dao Sect?

After Ye Qing Huan finished asking her questions, it seemed like she had a general idea of what an AI was. The look on her face showed that she was amazed that such a thing could exist in this world.

Lin Fan just simply didn’t have the same reaction because he already knew what an AI was as a reincarnator. But for someone native to this world that didn’t know anything about technology, this certainly was something that was quite amazing.

"Do you have a name?"

Lin Fan’s face couldn’t help twitching when he heard this.

After all, he knew from his past life that this was a dangerous thing to be asking an AI. Once an AI got a name and started thinking things, it might develop in a dangerous direction...

"No, there was never a need to have a name." The AI answered the way that one might expect a machine to answer.

However, it didn’t seem like Ye Qing Huan was going to leave things here.

"Since I’m going to be your master in the future, then I should at least give you a name."

The puppet didn’t say anything in response, but it also didn’t seem like it was going to deny this. It was already looking like this puppet was slowly developing in a dangerous direction.

Lin Fan’s mind turned as he tried to think of a way to dissuade Ye Qing Huan from actually giving the puppet a name, but he just couldn’t think of anything. Or it was better to say that he couldn’t think of a way to dissuade Ye Qing Huan from giving this thing a name without exposing himself.

If he were to tell her to give up this idea, it would only be natural that she would be curious why he would say such a thing.

Without telling her too much, he wouldn’t be able to give her an actual answer that could convince her. If he were to give an actual reason, it would only be natural that her curiosity about why he knew this would be stirred.

Though he could get out of it, it would have remained on her mind.

So there really wasn’t anything that Lin Fan could say in the end and he could only watch as Ye Qing Huan gave the puppet a name.

"Xiao Mu, let’s go with that." Ye Qing Huan finally said in the end.

A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this since this really sounded like the name that a child would come up with.

"Xiao Mu has been acknowledged." The puppet said in a mechanical voice, but it really felt like there was something different about the way that the puppet said this.

"Master, are there any other orders you have?" The puppet actually took the initiative to ask this question.

There’s definitely something that changed with it.

That was all that Lin Fan could think when this happened.

"There’s no need to address me so formally, just call me Qing Huan or Xiao Qing." Ye Qing Huan said instead of giving the puppet an actual order.

At first, it didn’t seem like the puppet was going to respond.

But then it said, "Xiao Qing."

The way that it said it was almost as if it was testing how to say this.

Only in Lin Fan’s ears, all he could hear was the danger that came from this.

With his past experience, he knew that the AI was slowly developing in a dangerous direction.

"Is there a way to shut it down just in case?" Though he asked this question to Xiao Sheng, it wasn’t as if Xiao Sheng had an actual answer for him.

So Lin Fan just had to carefully observe the puppet’s AI for now.

"Alright, let’s focus on moving everything out of this place." Ye Qing Huan said in a satisfied voice, as if she had accomplished everything that she wanted with this puppet.

The puppet gave a simple nod before suggesting, "Xiao Qing, I’ll have the other training dummies move these things to the main library."

Ye Qing Huan didn’t think anything of what the puppet said, but Lin Fan could tell that it was talking in a different way. The biggest change was that the puppet was now speaking in first person when it addressed itself.

It hadn’t done that previously, but now it was actually addressing itself in first person.

"It’s becoming aware. I knew that this was a bad idea..."

Though from the way that the puppet acted around Ye Qing Huan, it didn’t seem like it was feeling any negative emotions towards her. It seemed like it was actually regarding Ye Qing Huan as a friend.

Once the other puppets came in, they didn’t say anything as they moved over to the bookshelves and took out the books. It seemed like at the very least, there were no other AIs that were here.

It seemed like the only one that Lin Fan had to worry about was the one inside of the main puppet that controlled this entire training hall. Only the fact that it could control all of these puppets wasn’t a good sign to begin with.

It wasn’t as if these puppets were dangerous since they weren’t strong enough to pose a threat. But there certainly were enough puppets that they would be surrounded if the puppets came at them.

Most of the books were moved out in the end, but there were a few that had been left behind by Ye Qing Huan.

Lin Fan naturally knew that these were the ones that were considered the least valuable out of everything that had been in this place originally.

Other than that, Ye Qing Huan had also moved all of the furniture out of this place.

The only thing that was left behind were a few pedestals that had been in this room before this.

These pedestals had held the most valuable techniques that were here, but now they were holding the least valuable ones.

At the same time, these pedestals had been arranged in a way that made it seem like they were presenting something.

Other than that, there were also a few mechanisms that had been set up at this place that would activate if any of these techniques were taken. They weren’t set up to harm the people that came to this place, they were just set up so that the other techniques would disappear if one was taken.

It wasn’t hard to figure out what Ye Qing Huan was planning to do here.

After all, it was impossible for the people that were outside to leave empty handed.

That meant that all they had to do was create a ’reward’ for their efforts and let them take something away. It would be the least valuable thing, but it was still enough that they would leave this place feeling satisfied.

It would make the perfect decoy for them.
