Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam
Chapter 611 - 32: I’ve Seen Right Through Him (Part 2)
This suggestion immediately plunged everyone into silence, seemingly instinctively looking down.
Everyone unanimously suggested that Miss Keroy should take on this daunting task, but this time, the miraculous Miss Keroy looked troubled. She could hatch the egg, but couldn't produce milk. At this point, Old An recalled the ecology of some other magical creatures, having seen groups that demanded meat right after hatching from an eggshell.
It would be best to prepare milk and meat skewers.
This is the crystallization of collective wisdom. However, facing the empty room, Ethan's disappointment was akin to a goblin returning to the lair after a whole day of hunger, only to encounter a useless head chef, forcing him to wrap up warmly and take this imminent newborn out to forage for food.
He had promised the single dragon mother to take good care of this child, how could he let the child be hungry as soon as it was born?
Now, he had overcome all difficulties, yet new problems kept arising one after another.
He carefully observed the newborn dragon baby.
He meant no harm, but from a life science perspective, its scale color was unlike its mother's, and the mechanical wings and hard tail lost the features of a dragon, making it hard to imagine who the dragon father might be.
"I roughly understand..."
Charlotte and Papilio glanced at each other and spoke in unison.
They heard about the thrilling birth process, and the vivid details indicated Ethan wasn't lying.
But there was still one problem.
He seemed excessively calm; the battle earlier in the Market District could only be described as brutal. Any normal person witnessing such a scene wouldn't be able to act indifferent.
"Didn't you see the chaos in the Market District earlier? Summoners were attacked and infected with an unprecedented disease."
Papilio pressed on, eager to discern Ethan's stance on the matter, to determine whether he was a friend or foe.
"Of course."
"Then you weren't planning to do anything?"
Her gaze suddenly became much sharper.
"How could that be? I had considered even the worst-case scenario, fortunately, Miss Charlotte arrived in time to wake everyone."
Upon hearing this, Papilio breathed a sigh of relief.
Ethan seemed not to be associated with that crazy robot, but... the worst-case scenario?
She noticed Ethan's gaze, as he spoke, this mysterious young man smiled and looked around, completely blending into the bustling night market of Misty Forest County, which seemed to be its usual state.
"Ah, indeed."
Ethan sighed, what a beautiful scene.
Thanks to Charlotte's arrival, he almost had to knock everyone out and handle both milking and grilling duties alone.
"I forgot to ask you earlier, what exactly does Team Rocket do?"
Charlotte asked.
After returning home, she researched a lot, and this organization seemed to have appeared out of thin air, never witnessed by anyone.
"In simple terms, it's an organization that liberates enslaved magical creatures and helps them return to nature, you could see it as a group with a nature conservation purpose."
Nature conservation?
Sounded like righteous people, but Charlotte wasn't easily swayed, not long ago, White Turban mentioned the incident when looking for dragon eggs, where Ethan single-handedly defeated the entire Poacher Gang and broke the Scarlet Queen's contract, stealing their magical creatures.
Although White Turban wasn't highly credible, he wouldn't lie about such matters, and that Poacher Gang did lose their companions.
This way of breaking the rules set by the Goddess... was exactly like those mechanical magical creatures!
Charlotte asked, "A poacher gang from Moon Forest City reported you, claiming you stole their magical creatures."
"That's a slander."
"Slander?"
"To be precise, I rescued them from evil forces, helping them return to nature. They were very happy and thanked me earnestly before leaving."
Charlotte and Papilio fell silent simultaneously.
They expected Ethan to deny everything, but didn't expect him to use such rhetoric. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Helping magical creatures leave evil summoners and return to nature, it's surprising he could come up with that.
Moreover, it indeed meant he didn't deny breaking the rules set by the Crimson Queen.
But Ethan had already prepared his explanation.
"Think carefully, what magical creature wouldn't want to cooperate with righteous summoners, to be greeted with smiles wherever they go, rather than being tools of evil forces, facing cold stares everywhere?"
"The magical creatures that signed contracts with them were all evil creatures..."
Charlotte muttered.
Even without evil organizations like White Turban, there would still be incidents of magical creatures harming people in the wild. City patrols are meant to rescue stranded travelers in the wild. Although these attacks aren't fatal, the magical creatures do rob travelers of their belongings and goods.
Wolves and bat-type magical creatures typically leave such a bad impression.
"There's a fundamental difference between survival and plunder."
"Don't be blinded by his sweet words!"
White Turban hiding in the shadows could no longer bear it, rushing to the scene with rapid steps, "Those magical creatures used to be in tune with us in spirit. He must have manipulated them!"
"Isn't that just your wishful thinking?"
