Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 792 - 512: There’s a Dragon in Yakir Lake! (Part 2)
He cautiously stepped out of the stone gate, breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the Big Tree Guard still patrolling, and then looked towards the Aire Church.
"They went that way, didn’t they..."
So Tepi turned his gaze eastward, standing at the cliff’s edge, he could see a vast lake to the east.
"I’ll go take a look at the lake then."
Why not follow Uffie and the others’ path? Obviously, it’s because running into them would be awkward.
He tiptoed around the Big Tree Guard, daring not to make a single sound, literally playing it stealthily.
The area he was currently in was a raised highland, the lake was below the highland, and to get there, unless one found a route where the terrain gradually leveled, one would have to slowly climb down from the cliff.
Naturally, Tepi chose to climb down, took quite some effort to descend to the ground.
Then he realized he’d seen wrong, it couldn’t really be considered a lake, at most it was just a layer of water covering the ground, from afar it did look like a lake.
[Yakir Lake] such words appeared before his eyes.
"Yakir... Why does this name feel somewhat familiar, like I’ve heard it somewhere before."
He thought about it for a long time but couldn’t recall where he’d heard the name, so he shook his head and gave up thinking, turning his attention to Yakir Lake instead.
A ruined building not far away caught his attention, it looked like some kind of ruins, with well-dressed Animated Corpses wandering around, seemingly without much combat power.
On the other side, in the center of the lake stood a huge bonfire, surrounded by a group of swaying Animated Corpses, holding some mysterious ceremony.
Besides, there were Bat Monsters taller than a person wandering around, appearing far more dangerous than the Animated Corpses.
"The Sain Dungeon is attractive because it utilizes soul to enhance power, which is the most important point," Tepi stared at the Animated Corpses at the "bonfire party," muttering to himself: "Though Animated Corpses are weak, they can still provide souls; even small mosquitoes are meat."
With the rare gathering of Animated Corpses, he could wipe them out with a couple of magic spells, which would be a profitable deal, and then turn his attention to cleaning out the Bat Monsters, accumulating his first batch of wealth.
Cautiously approaching the bonfire, Tepi truly found a sense of adventure.
He stared at the enticing ASS of the Animated Corpses, thinking to himself:
Leon, is this the scenery you see.
Getting closer, Tepi drew his only weapon, a small knife, its handle made of precious metal, adorned with numerous splendid jewels, even the blade had fancy decorations.
The Sain Dungeon couldn’t produce such a flamboyant weapon; it seemed more like a decorative object, meant to be displayed rather than used.
But Tepi had no choice; he wasn’t willingly using it, this was all to fit in with others.
After arriving in the Warrior Country, he found the biggest difference between the country and his imagination was that the people here loved dazzling, expensive items to deck themselves out.
On a smaller scale, it’s about liking to dress up, on a larger scale, it’s outright greed.
Very strange.
Historically, warriors esteemed boldness and ruggedness, which seemed incompatible with flashy jewels; upon asking around, he discovered this trend of wealth obsession had been popular for several years, only expanding in the last two years, turning into a national craze.
Now it truly seemed he was uninformed.
Tepi usually disliked excessive splurging and flaunting; his family culture, apart from educating descendants, was fairly normal, but to fit in, he had to wear jewels all over, even changing his weapons to fancy styles.
Otherwise, other wealthy merchants or nobles would despise him.
Sometimes, Tepi felt like he wasn’t in a human country.
Rather like mixing with a bunch of greedy dragon kiddos.
"You admire the giant dragon’s power, alright, but why learn their habit of greed too?"
Murmuring to himself about the Warrior Country, Tepi suddenly lunged at the nearest detached Animated Corpse, terminating it with a strike using his flawless skin knife.
He was about to unleash magic on the Animated Corpses when a resounding roar swept over Yakir Lake.
"Roar—"
Tepi’s body stiffened for a moment at the sound, quickly realizing it was a call from a creature he knew.
"Dragon!"
In the cerulean sky above, an imposing massive silhouette charged rapidly towards him, scales reflecting sunlight, mighty wings cutting through the sky, flames dripped from its mouth.
It’s [Flying Dragon Yakir]!
"Boom!"
Flying Dragon Yakir descended from the sky, crushing the bonfire along with the Animated Corpses group, wood and severed limbs flying everywhere, scene gruesome to the extreme.
Strangely, the dead Animated Corpses had faces showing serene smiles, as if they could finally embrace death.
I suddenly remembered, Flying Dragon Yakir also briefly appeared on the day of the rampage in the Sain Dungeon!
Tepi’s mood swung like a roller coaster, with no intention of battling with the fancy weapon he held, he turned to flee.
If I could borrow the Rock Golem from the Giant Stone Dungeon, I’d dare fight the Flying Dragon, but forget it for now!
"Ah!"
Yakir promptly detected the retreating figure, pounded the ground, charging over with a strength beyond imagination!
"No no no!"
Tepi scattered numerous Magic Scrolls, various magic released slightly hindered Yakir’s pursuit, he shed garments heavily adorned with gold and silver jewels, practically cumbersome, leaving only the lightest close-fitting attire, greatly increasing his speed.
But at this moment, an intensely hot breath came from behind, glancing back, Yakir was poised to exhale flames!
Tepi was shocked, realizing that being hit by the flames directly in this situation wouldn’t even leave him ashes, searched desperately for a way to hide, finally found a feasible method.
It was the ruins he discovered earlier!
He dashed over as fast as possible, didn’t even care about the [Dragon Breath Ruins] words appearing before him, just focused on finding cover, fortunately finding an underground passage in the ruins.
He just heard the explosive sound of flames, as he jumped down, fan-shaped flames swept through most of Yakir Lake, leaving not a blade of grass, even the lake water burning!
Was this Flying Dragon this powerful before!?
Due to jumping hurriedly, Tepi stumbled down the stairs until he rolled into the dark chamber below.
"That was close, really close..."
He patted his chest, panting heavily, looking truly disheveled, the residual warmth of the flames preventing him from venturing onto the surface.
But then, he suddenly noticed something, starting to carefully observe the underground room within the ruins.
"Treasure Chest?"
Tepi spotted an overlooked detail, a treasure chest placed in the underground room, with several giant rats guarding around.
"Quite lucky."
If there was a treasure chest placed alone, people might suspect it to be a trap, but having monsters nearby greatly lowered suspicion.
At least, Tepi didn’t suspect it.
He swiftly disposed of the giant rats, enthusiastically opened the treasure chest.
[Triggering the teleportation trap!!!]
"You mom—"
