When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase
Chapter 879: A Girl’s Heart Like Dust (9)
From a young age, Yanxiao never treated her like a sister. He disliked her so much, how could he possibly think of her that way?
He would kiss her, get angry with her—probably just like when they were kids, unable to stand her having good things, always wanting to bully her for fun.
Yanxiao was right. Whether he admitted it or not, she was ultimately the eldest miss of the Sheng Family. Her parents weren’t her biological parents, but they’d always treated her as their own. Someone like her indeed couldn’t just casually find a boyfriend.
And she actually didn’t want a boyfriend, at least not now.
Turning to her side to lie down, the pillow gradually became wet, not knowing whether it was tears or water droplets from her hair. Su Weiyi curled up into a ball, her eyes tightly shut, long lashes still clinging to droplets.
It was unclear how much time had passed before she finally fell asleep.
When Su Weiyi woke up again, it was already close to noon the next day. Her head throbbed with pain, her nose felt a bit stuffed, and she wasn’t sure if it was because she drank alcohol or because she slept with wet hair. Su Weiyi felt her whole body was heavy. After getting out of bed and walking for a couple of seconds, she felt dizzy, her steps unsteady.
She forced herself into the bathroom to wash up and went downstairs. Just as she reached the staircase, she saw two people enter from outside—Sheng Jiayu and Yanxiao.
The boy was wearing a white T-shirt and black track pants, his usual outfit. He didn’t even spare her a glance and turned to the kitchen to get a drink of water.
Sheng Jiayu smiled as she approached: "Xiao Yi’s awake. There was something in B City, your parents just left. Yanxiao and I just drove them to the airport."
Su Weiyi was stunned: "They...left?"
"Your mom said you slept late yesterday, so she didn’t wake you. After you finish filling out your college entrance exam preferences, you can return to B City. Would you like to go somewhere to have fun these days?"
Mr. Sheng and Miss Tang had originally come specifically because of her college entrance exams, and now that the exams were over, they had to return to work. Su Weiyi understood this, she just hadn’t expected them to leave so quickly.
"Xiao Yi, are you coming down with a cold? You look terrible."
Sheng Jiayu reached out to feel Su Weiyi’s forehead. Su Weiyi snapped back to reality and smiled: "Auntie, I’m fine."
"No, something’s off—you don’t even sound right. Catching a cold? You don’t have a fever, but maybe you should see a doctor?"
Su Weiyi quickly waved her hands: "No, no need. I’ll be fine after a nap."
Even though Mu Ke was a doctor, he never advocated rushing to the hospital over minor illnesses, and over time, Sheng Jiayu got used to this mindset too.
She nodded: "Alright then, eat something, take some medicine, and then rest in your room. You’ve finally got a break, don’t waste it being sick."
Su Weiyi nodded.
She really wasn’t feeling well, and after last night, facing Yanxiao made Su Weiyi feel so uncomfortable that she just wanted to hurry back to her room to hide.
After hastily finishing lunch, Su Weiyi ran back to her room. Her head felt heavy, and her nose was blocked, making her feel miserable.
Lying in bed for a while, Su Weiyi heard a sound from the doorway. She looked up and saw Yanxiao coming in with a medicine box in one hand and a cup of water in the other.
The boy kicked the door shut, and Su Weiyi ignored her throbbing head, sitting up immediately, her entire body tense.
Yanxiao sat at the edge of her bed, poured out a pill and handed her the glass: "Take your medicine."
