What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?
Chapter 863: Who Should We Work For?
So apparently, I’m also a Biotamer... And a Psionic at the same time?
I gave her a serious look, "Miss Yuki... Just out of curiosity... Could a Biotamer be a Psionic as well?"
She frowned, "I have never heard of such a thing... At least... I don’t think it’s possible. No Biotamer I know is a Psionic and if a Psionic is also a Biotamer... They probably wouldn’t show it."
"Why not?"
"Because it’s generally seen that Biotamers are inferior to Psionics. So a Psionic might be seen as inferior if they reveal themselves to be a Biotamer."
"That doesn’t make sense... Doesn’t that mean they have access to two different powers which makes them stronger?"
She shrugged, "I’m not the one who makes the rules, all I know is that I’ve never heard of something like that."
Amber and Lea were giving me pointed looks.
Hey, I don’t know either, ok? Best explanation I can give is the fact that I’m actually from another universe! You guys should be the one telling me why this is the case!
Yuki leaned forward, "So... Are you sure you’re not from any family? Maybe a long lost child of one?"
I shook my head, "I highly doubt I am one.... If I was, I’d think they would have already come along to scoop me up by now."
And I was pretty sure that was the case because I’m not even from this universe to begin with.
She hummed, "Hmm... I see... In that case, would you be interested in marrying into my family? I have a few brothers who are still single and I can guarantee you that you wouldn’t need to work another day of your life. While we might not be as influential as any of the Noble families, we do have our own connections and are wealthy enough to ensure you have everything you might want to live comfortably."
I looked her in the eyes, "I’m a futa."
Without even missing a beat, the female CEO gestured to herself, "In that case, what about me? I am still without a partner and I would happily take you if you are willing."
I blinked at her, "You barely even know me though?"
"The dogs like you. I think that is already enough for me to decide that you are worth spending the rest of my life with."
Ok... Hard to argue with that... And even Lea and Amber were nodding along as well.
I shook my head and gestured towards my girls, "Sorry, but I have my own harem and I have no intention of settling down with someone I just met over them. Also, I like my current way of life and I don’t have any intention of changing that anytime soon."
She clasped her hands in front of her, "In that case, what if I were to offer you money just for you to plant a child inside of me? I can offer any price, just name it."
Oh geez... These noble archetypes really sound the same huh? She’s acting just like Eleanor right now...
I let out a sigh, "I’m going to have to reject that idea I’m afraid."
"Even if I told you that you can name any price?"
"Even then, I’m still going to reject your offer. Money is not the issue."
"I see... That’s a shame then... If you ever change your mind, just let me know. This offer is always open for you."
"Err... I’ll keep that in mind I guess... Anyway... What’s the deal with Biotamers? From what I can infer from our conversation so far, they are basically treated like a rank below Psionics, right?"
She gestured towards the dogs again, "As you might have surmised, having the ability to control animals like that does make us quite a big threat after all... So it’s better for us to be on your side instead of the opposite side, don’t you agree?"
"But last I checked... Aren’t dogs able to deal with Psionics? Like... I think I remember someone saying that even Psionics are afraid of dogs."
"Sure, if the dogs are trained to take down Psionics I suppose. There was a time during the war with Psionics that dogs were used against them and were arguably the most effective weapon against them. But if a Psionic were already aware of the dog’s presence and also the fact that there’s a person controlling it... They can take care of both relatively easily."
"I see... Wait... Does that mean to obtain a Bio-Weapon License, you have to be a Biotamer?"
She shook her head, "It’s not necessarily the case, but I would say all Biotamers have Bio-Weapon Licenses but not all Bio-Weapon Licenses are Biotamers. Since there’s other ways for people to control a creature instead of just relying on this power."
Ah... I see... I remember there was a person that was controlling a dog using some kind of collar or something. And the dog wasn’t really obeying the guy when he wasn’t using the collar either so that guy was definitely not a Biotamer.
"Additionally," Yuki continued, giving me an odd look where she looked at me through half lidded eyes. "You should know that if you were to claim that you are a Biotamer, you would have an easier time applying for that license."
Well... I guess that makes sense I suppose? But I have a feeling that route would be cut off for me because it would raise a lot of questions for me which I have no answer for, so I think it’s better that no one else knows I have the same ability as a Biotamer.
I felt the conversation was going in a weird direction so I tried to bring it back on topic again.
"You told us there was a job you wanted us to do, didn’t you? What is it?" I reminded her.
She straightened herself, "Ah, I almost forgot. Thank you for reminding me. You’ve already seen my zoo, so I suppose it’s pretty straight forward actually. I’m planning on opening the zoo up for a select few guests to visit and I would very much like you to help me with maintaining control over some of the animals here. Initially I only wanted to hire you to take care of the Walking Disaster you brought for me but now that I know you are able to control different species, I want you to oversee more sections of it."
I frowned, "Is this supposed to be a full time job or something? Because I don’t intend to stay here full time, you know?"
She shook her head, "Not at all, you don’t need to worry about it. It will just be for a few days while the event is running."
"Uh huh... And what happens after I’m gone? Isn’t that a big risk for your event then?"
"I’m only hiring you as a precaution because I have suspicions that one of my business rivals might be planning to sabotage me. You see... I told you we’re a security company didn’t I? I’m currently trying to get the security contract to be this Pleasure Station’s exclusive security provider but there’s another rival that is trying to get the same thing as well. He’s not known for being honest so I suspect he’s going to try and resort to some tricks to discredit me. And since this event I’m holding is going to involve the owner of the Pleasure station as well, he might try to do something that might get me in trouble."
I sucked in a breath, "I’m going to make a guess that this business rival that you are talking about has a name that begins with Kaito and ends with Matsumoto?"
She narrowed her eyes, "I’m assuming that you’ve met him then?"
I nodded, "Yeah, apparently he had some kind of tracker installed on that turtle and he sent the police after me for trying to smuggle it here. Actually... Wouldn’t it be a problem if they saw your collection since I assume they are illegal?"
She stared at me for a moment, "I would like to know how you managed to get past the inspectors but I will just answer your question where it’s not illegal for me to own one... It’s just that my method of procuring it was a little illegal and that’s all you need to know."
Ah, makes sense then... In that case.
"You just need to know I have a trade secret to get it past the inspectors. But anyway... I was escorted to Kaito and he tried to convince me that you were trying to set the turtle free on the station to cause chaos and pin the blame on him instead."
She clucked her tongue, "Tsk... I should have expected an idiot like that to come up with something as stupid as that... So I was right in expecting him to do something stupid... I’m assuming that the fact that you’re telling me this means that you aren’t going to help him?"
Well... I might as well take advantage of the situation here...
I leaned back in my chair, "If the price is right... He offered me two hundred million Credits, just saying..."
"I’ll pay double."
Fuck yeah.
