Chapter 136: Another Addition To The Outing

"Uncle Qing!! Over here!" Amanda waved.

I couldn’t help but smile as I raised my phone to take a picture of her standing in front of the temple.

I checked that the photo came out good before looking up again, this time seeing Amanda standing beside her sister and waving at me again.

I snapped another quick photo and gave them a thumbs up before the two of them ran over to me.

"Uncle Qing! Let me see! Let me see!" Amanda requested, jumping up and down with her hands raised.

I bent down to show them the gallery on my phone, letting the two girls see the photo I just took.

At the same time, I peeked at the side, watching Dan take a selfie of both him and Rachel standing in front of the temple with him kissing her on the cheek.

This is one of the other reasons why Amanda and Joanne are so attached to me, by the way... Because I’m basically the one who would distract the girls and take care of them while those two lovebirds get lost in their own world.

I don’t mind of course, since these two are well behaved and cute. Additionally, I won’t say no to helping a bro get some, you know?

I took charge over the two girls as we walked around the temple area, the girls marvelling at the building and making me take pictures for them. Sometimes just pictures of the two of them while other times pictures with the three of us.

Dan and Rachel were walking hand in hand behind me and I didn’t need my enhanced senses to know that they were whispering sweet nothings to each other.

Those two really have a tendency to get lost in their own world when they start.

I’m not jealous of them but... Seeing them kind of made me want to have someone who I could have beside me and would walk arm in arm to tour around right now.

Right now, it was still early so the place wasn’t crowded yet but there were still a few locals and tourists hanging out around here.

Hmm... Let’s see... The plan was to just take a walk around here to admire the temple... Then we would head towards the main street to look for a place to have lun--

I swivelled my head around, narrowing my eyes in the direction of where I felt someone was looking at me.

But when I looked... There was no one there.

I frowned, not believing that it was my imagination in the slightest.

At this point, I believe all the nights I’ve spent cultivating have increased the baseline of my senses to allow me to sense these feelings quite accurately.

The problem then was who was watching me and why instead of whether I was mistaken about it.

It can’t be someone who already knew I was the Mortal God, right? I don’t think anyone aside from my Guardians would know about this... And I’m sure they have been careful in making sure that this information wasn’t leaked out to anyone else either.

Then perhaps... They know that I’m a person related to the Mortal God?

But I have not shown up with the group either so for all anyone knows... I’m literally just some random guy who showed up out of nowhere.

I looked around, trying to find if there was anyone that looked suspicious but found no one that might have been the cause of that feeling.

"Uncle Qing?" Joanne called out, probably wondering why I suddenly acted weirdly.

I reached down and took both hers and Amanda’s hands, "Come on... Let’s go find your parents."

Amanda pouted, "Ehhh... Why? Did we do something wrong, Uncle Qing? We want to stay with you! Daddy and Mommy are so boring!"

I was just about to tell them that we are just meeting them to go for lunch when I felt the same look again, this time coming from my right.

I swivelled around, only to have my face suddenly be buried in two lumps of flesh.

"Oh my~ How bold of you, my dear~ Not that I mind of course~"

I pulled back, looking up to see a very familiar towering elf in front of me, the elf herself having intentionally bent down so that her boobs were directly in front of my face to ensure I would turn into them when I did.

The only difference was that she wasn’t dressed in her usual mage robes but in a sleeveless white dress that reached to her knees with white stockings underneath. An especially wide brimmed sun hat rested on her head which completely hid her elf ears from view. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

But because she was so tall, she still stood out from the crowd anyway, which I suppose she accepted which was why she was wearing a pair of heeled sandals which only made her even taller.

I sucked in a breath, "What are you doing?"

Ava giggled, "Ara, ara~ I’m merely just out enjoying my day off but found a cute human that I would like to spend the rest of my day with~ Is that wrong?"

Amanda tugged at my hand, "Uncle Qing? Who is that?"

I hesitated, having no idea what I should claim here. Should I be strangers like Ava was suggesting? Or admit that she’s my coworker?

In the end, I didn’t even need to say anything because Ava answered for me instead, the elf giving the little girl a disarming smile.

"Hello there, little one~ I am a close friend of your uncle here~ I work very closely with him~"

Amanda seemed happy to hear that but Joanne was looking up at the elf with narrowed eyes, clearly not trusting her words for it.

"You are uncle Qing’s friend?" She asked.

Ava giggled, "Ufufufu~ That’s right~ I’m a very close friend of your uncle~"

Joanne grew even more suspicious, "Why don’t we know you? We are closest to uncle Qing!"

Well... To be honest, it’s not like they know all my friends... Especially my online friends which I would most likely never introduce to them.

Before Ava could respond, footsteps came from behind us and we were joined by Dan and Rachel, both of them giving Ava suspicious glances.

Still, they remained polite with her.

"Hello, can we help you?" Rachel asked.

Dan suddenly gasped, "Oh wait! I know you! You’re Qing’s colleague aren’t you? I’ve seen you on TV!"

Ava smiled, "Yes, that is correct. I work with my dear over here~"

Rachel’s eyebrows lifted slightly, "Ah, so you are a friend of Qing’s?"

"Yes, a very good friend of his~"

Rachel shot me a look, clearly seeking my opinion on this matter.

Well... We’re already at this stage so...

I gestured towards Ava, "Everyone, this is Avatasia. As you heard, she’s my colleague. Ava, this is Dan, my best friend, and his wife, Rachel. Right here are their daughters, Amanda and Joanne."

Ava gave all of them a quick nod, "Hello everyone~ It is so nice to meet you~ Qing rarely talks about himself so it’s nice to see this other side of him for a change~"

Dan grinned, "Yeah, he doesn’t tell us about his life at work either. It’s almost like he wants to keep both sides completely separate too."

I’m not even sure if that was meant as a dig at me for not telling him I was the Mortal God.

Ava chuckled, "Ufufufu~ I can understand~ My dear is very careful with his secrets~"

Rachel then extended a hand towards her, "Miss Ava? Would you like to join us for our tour today?"

I turned to Rachel in surprise, completely caught off guard that she would even invite Ava for this.

On the other hand, Ava only acted surprised, "Oh my? Is that alright? Would I not be intruding?"

"You are a close friend of Qing’s right? And I assume you want to spend time with him as well?"

"Oh certainly~ I would very much like to be more than just close friends too, but I suppose I have to take things one step at a time. If you don’t mind, I would very much like to accompany you~"

Rachel smiled at her, "In that case, we would be happy to have you. We are just about to head for lunch so is that alright with you?"

Ava nodded, "Of course~"

She then moved to my side and slipped her arm around mine like it was the most natural thing to do in the world.

Ok... I know I kind of wished for this but this was not what I expected to happen at all.

Dan’s family just watched the elf girl happily pull herself towards me and lean as close to me as possible to the point that her boobs were practically shoved against the side of my face.

Thankfully, no one said anything and the family led the way towards our destination to have lunch.

"Shall we... My Divine?" She asked, whispering the last part softly so only I could hear.

Right... I suppose this could be fun too.
