Chapter 46: Swordsmanship

Next Morning;

Tyler woke up with a huge yawn. He entered the bathroom and finished his morning routine.

Walking out of the bathroom, wearing nothing but underwear, he couldn’t help but think about the conversation from last night.

He had managed to successfully shut down the Fire Empress. Of course, it would only make her angrier.

After all, women could be quite unreasonable.

So, after asking that question, Tyler fell asleep without much hesitation.

Wearing new clothes, he walked out of the room and went to the kitchen.

Mary had prepared a heavy breakfast. After finishing his meal, he walked into the backyard of their mansion.

He took out that slightly melted sword and took a deep breath before he started infusing it with Azure Flame.

The hardest part of this technique was reaching the temperature of the sun’s outer layer without melting the sword completely.

Normally, that would be impossible. This sword was made out of normal metal, so it would definitely melt under such extreme temperatures.

Of course, if he wanted to find a metal that could withstand a temperature of 5,000 degrees Celsius, he could easily do so.

There were many metals made from different ores that could withstand such temperatures. Even Yellowstone Ore could withstand the temperature of three thousand degrees.

And, it also had great resistance to rusting. It could also keep its structure under extreme conditions. It was also very malleable.

That’s exactly why a single gram of Yellowstone Ore costs one gold coin.

But he didn’t want to use that metal to practice this technique. His goal was simple. He wanted to create a technique, not a countermeasure.

To create this technique, he had to find a perfect balance between temperature and mana.

"Tch! If you want to complete that technique like this, you will never succeed in your lifetime."

"Of course, if you beg me, I will tell you a shortcut."

A narcissistic voice rang in his head.

Tyler ignored her and continued channeling his mana into the blade. He knew she wasn’t wrong.

Her mastery of flame had reached such a level that with his body, she could incinerate people with just a touch, without burning anything around that body.

The level of control required to achieve such a feat was insane.

But Tyler had one advantage. An insane level of creative ideas.

He had seen the power of a fire-infused sword and knew the danger behind such a technique.

He probably wouldn’t be able to reach that level with his current state. That would require an even higher level of mastery over flame.

So, he just wanted his sword to access, control, and withstand the temperature of five thousand degrees at first.

Then, once his control reaches a certain point, he could start infusing the flame into the blade.

His previous idea of infusing the flame into the blade from the start was nothing but an impossible task at his current level.

’Flow! I have to maintain a certain flow of the flames.’

He thought to himself as he let the Azure Flame wrap around the blade, forming a burning sword.

But within just five seconds, his control over mana fluctuated, and the temperature of the Azure Flame began melting the sword.

He quickly controlled the flow of mana and withdrew the Azure Flame into his body.

’It seems this is going to be really hard. Since I’ve already merged with these flames, they won’t hurt me.’

’But it could still affect the blade and even my clothes. I need to find a way to prevent that without decreasing the temperature of the flame.’

’Hmmm!’

He thought to himself for a moment before trying something else. He channeled a small portion of the Azure Flame into the blade.

Then, he kept it there.

Soon after, he started channeling mana out of his body, creating a small coating around him and the blade as well.

Instead of infusing the flame into the blade, he infused it with mana while using the same mana to fuel the Azure Flame.

After all, he had only used a small portion of the Azure Flame, so it needed a constant supply of mana to function.

Doing this, his mana would be depleted pretty quickly.

Even so, he didn’t stop because he wanted to find out whether the flame would burn his blade first or after it finished his mana.

Because if it burned his blade first, that would mean this method wouldn’t work.

But if it finished his mana first, then this method was the best solution at hand.

The fire continued to burn, the mana continued to flow, but the blade didn’t melt. Its previous melted state remained the same.

’It’s working. It is absorbing my mana to continue burning, but because of the size of the flame, it is only absorbing a small portion of the mana to exist.’

’The remaining mana is used to strengthen the blade and keep it safe.’

Thinking about it, he quickly shook his head and withdrew his mana and the Azure Flame. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

In an instant, the temperature of the Azure Flame melted the blade slightly. Now, it was completely deranged.

So, he no longer needed this blade.

’If I use this method, it won’t work unless I can find a way to decrease the consumption of mana.’

’I need information. If I beg her, she would not only give me information but also a method to create this technique.’

’But if I do that, would it still be my creation? And, begging her is impossible. If I do that now, I might do it again and again and again.’

Thinking about it, he decided to train more in swordsmanship.

After all, it was one factor that could affect his technique.

Practicing swordsmanship was rather simple. He only had to swing his sword.

The process wasn’t hard, but it was exhausting.

Every swing contained all of his strength, so putting the same strength again and again was going to be exhausting.

Even so, he didn’t want to admit defeat so easily.

He had no understanding of what swordsmanship was, but he had two guesses.

Sword Intent and Sword Energy!

Why not harmony of man and sword, or sword domain, or sword soul?

Because Harmony of Man and Sword was a state, not a realm. The same was not true for Sword Domain and Sword Soul.

But while Harmony of Man and Sword could be achieved immediately, Sword Domain and Sword Soul were far too distant in any cultivation world.

The first realm would mostly be Sword Energy or Sword Intent. It was normal for the world to escape Sword Energy.

Because some worlds have weird rules of only allowing those with swordsmanship talent to become a swordsman.

And, that talent was often a tangible object, such as Sword Body, Sword Soul, or Sword Bone.

These people could easily refine their mana (spiritual energy) into Sword Energy, so the realm itself didn’t exist.

But some worlds relied more on comprehension. In this world, the cultivator would need to transform his mana (spiritual energy) into the Sword Energy.

Thus, the Sword Energy in itself becomes a realm.

He had heard about the talent necessary to become a swordsman, but Hongsu also emphasized the improvement of body, soul, and mana.

So, how was Sword Energy formed?

He could only find it in a proper Sword Scripture.

So, he could swing his sword to reach the state of Harmony of Man and Sword. In this state, he would be able to perceive his swordsmanship.

Maybe he could even find the path for his swordsmanship.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Swing after swing, hours passed, mana got exhausted, but he didn’t stop.

Until it was evening, he kept swinging his sword, trying to enter that state of Harmony.

Even with his improved comprehension, it was still hard to enter such a state.

Eventually, it was already nighttime, so he returned to the mansion, took a bath, and went to the dinner table for dinner.

Seeing that Elena hadn’t arrived, Tyler curiously looked at Mary and asked.

"Where is Elena? I haven’t seen her the whole day."

"Young Lady has been learning Array Creation. I have already delivered food to her room."

Mary replied with a smile while serving him food.

Tyler raised his eyebrows and said.

"I almost forgot about that. Well, it’s good for her. By the way, do you have any plans for the main professions?"

In this world, there were two types of professions for cultivators.

Main and Secondary!

Professions like Array Master, Talisman Maker, Forger, Alchemist, Rune Creator, and Researcher were the main professions.

Herbalist, Farmer, Bodyguard, Pill Boy, Factory Worker, and other jobs that work for the main professions were considered secondary professions.

Lennie and Louis looked at each other.

"I plan to become a Researcher." Lennie answered.

"I want to become an Alchemist." Louis answered.

Hearing that, Tyler nodded.

"Then, best of luck! If you need help, you can ask me."
