Warhammer Divine Throne
Chapter 892 - 392: One Against Five
Children are battling the Ratmen using stones and candlesticks.
But there are simply too many Skaven Ratmen, and the human defense line is collapsing.
Surya is fighting fiercely among the rat swarm, her armor stained with blood, her long golden curls flecked with bits of flesh. Even though Surya's equipment is incredibly powerful, the Leonais Sword cuts through iron like mud and dispels all magical blessings, her figure is gradually swallowed by the rat tide. The servants she brought from home are falling one by one in battle, leaving only her old steward Henderson and her maid Sylvia at her side. π³ππ²ππ πππ»πΌπ§π²π₯.πππ¦
When Surya finally repelled a wave of rat tide, she found herself surrounded. Five Rat Giants had encircled her, clearly the Ratmen had discovered her presence.
The female knight felt her heart pounding, she gripped the hilt of the Leonais Sword tightly and recited the name of the Lake Fairy, seeking to draw strength for herself.
This was her first time fighting alone.
In Surya's life, she first fought alongside her father, then her brother, and later her husband.
She knew she couldn't afford to fail; she understood the responsibility on her shoulders. For the first time, Surya realized the importance of being a commander; her safety represented the morale of the troops, and her every move determined the course of the battle.
Then let it come! Surya held her sword with both hands and charged directly at the first Rat Giant on her left: "In the name of the Lady! Judge you!"
"Roar~" The Rat Giant unleashed a terrifying roar of power, lunging towards Surya on all fours!
"Die!" Surya's sea-blue eyes were filled with the wrath of the Lake God as she spun the Leonais Sword in her hand, elegantly leaping onto the back of the Rat Giant and driving her blade through from behind the demon's shoulder.
"Get up!" Surya lifted her sword's edge; the Rat Giant screamed in pain, hurriedly scrambling to its feet, causing the remaining four Rat Giants to collide into it. The female knight's sharp sword descended, and the head of the Rat Giant tumbled to the ground, convulsing until it fell silent.
"For the Lady!" Soon, the second Rat Giant crashed to the ground under Surya's sword. Her blade pierced through the creature's right leg, causing blood to spurt. The giant collapsed feebly, swinging at the female knight ineffectively, hitting the adjacent Rat Giant and causing it to fall as well.
The Leonais Sword then stabbed into the back of the second Rat Giant's head.
The remaining three Rat Giants exchanged glances and roared together as they charged the female knight: "Golden-haired thing! Killkill!"
Surya sidestepped horizontally, slashing one of the Rat Giants' arms off. Just as she was preparing to strike again, she felt a massive force slam into her from her shoulder plate. She grunted, sent flying by a surprise side attack from a Rat Giant, crashing into a bookcase.
The shelf collapsed, books scattered everywhere, burying Surya.
The female knight quickly rolled to her feet, raising her sharp sword to block the Rat Giant's blow, then reversed grip to stab it in the face. The blessing from the Lake Fairy surged on her sword, instantly burning the demon's head into a charred mass. The third Rat Giant fell.
Surya barely had time to pull out the Leonais Sword before a heavy blow struck her back. Her vibranium plate armor shook, but ultimately held against the powerful strike. Surya immediately turned, grabbing a long halberd from a nearby Ratman's corpse and thrusting it into the Rat Giant's heart.
"Uwaah! Aow~" The long halberd pierced through the Rat Giant's body, the female knight gripping it tightly as the white oak shaft cracked. The Rat Giant clutched the shaft embedded in its chest, trying to pull it out.
"Die!" Surya brought the Lake God's judgment, using her last ounce of strength to drive the halberd into the defiled heart of the Rat Giant, its dying struggles growing weaker. The female knight finally freed one hand to draw the Leonais Sword, slicing off the creature's rat head.
This was the fourth Rat Giant.
The female knight felt a dull ache throughout her body. She barely managed to push the giant corpse off herself, having to thank the gift from Laine's biological fatherβwithout the powerful force in the golden double-headed eagle wedding ring and the incredibly sturdy protection of her plate armor, the female knight might have perished long ago.
She stood up, and behind her, the last Rat Giant was leading the Storm Rats towards the humans' final defense line, seemingly shocked that the golden-haired thing wasn't dead. The rat hesitated as it glanced around at Surya's surroundings.
The female knight stood proudly among the mass of Rats like a Valkyrie on the battlefield, with the bodies of four Rat Giants signaling the outcome.
The ratfolk were wavering again, once more showing signs of collapse, turning chaotic.
"Toot~ Woo~" At this moment, outside the church, a loud horn resounded, cutting through the burning Hemgart.
"Toowoo~"
The struggling humans suddenly heard the horn's clarion call, and Surya instinctively glanced out the window.
Bright sunlight streamed through, illuminating the interior of the church.
Daylight was blazing.
The Ratman army fell into chaos, as a tall human figure burst in from outside the church, single-handedly destroying the Ratmen's onslaught, then sweeping his wife into his arms: "Surya, I'm here! Reinforcements are here!"
...
Outside the Church of Justice, two hundred Brunswick Royal Half-Griffin Knights, two hundred Rick Guards, one thousand Imperial Knights, and three thousand Great Swordsmen were sweeping the entire Ratman army with the speed of a hurricane. Emperor Karl Franz rode atop the Griffin "Death's Claw," witnessing the burning of Hemgart. The Emperor then raised the Warhammer Gail-Malaz in his hand!
"Advance!! For the Empire! For Charlemagne! For Glory!!!"
