Warhammer Divine Throne
Chapter 880 - 388: Bloody Battle at Franz Square
A flaming sword pierced through the chest of the Rat Giant from behind. The monster cried out in pain, clutching its chest. The sword was pulled out from its back and, when slashed again, it carved a bone-deep wound into the Rat Giant's ribs.
The Rat Giant wailed, retreating as the blade sank deeply into its spine. Some divine power it couldn't comprehend was eroding its existence and life. The subsequent second slash inflicted severe damage on it, forcing the beast to abandon its prey and turn to face a new enemy.
This enemy was a Lady Knight clad in masterwork vibranium plate armor. Her golden curly hair and valiant posture made her seem entirely out of place in the filthy battlefield.
"Face judgment, Skaven scum!" Surya, without turning her head, slashed all the approaching Ratmen into halves. The usual warm smile and noble demeanor on the Lady Knight's face were replaced by a terrifying coldness and the wrath of the Lake God.
The sword blade blessed by the Lake Fairy deflected the Rat Giant's fierce pounce, as Surya's exquisite swordsmanship traced a dazzling light.
In the instant of face-to-face combat, blood splattered. The Rat Giant forcefully slapped away the sword aiming for its heart, but the price was its head being attacked by the Lady Knight's sharp sword. Surya's sword extracted one of the Rat Giant's eyes. It retreated, clutching its bleeding left eye, with half its face destroyed and a deep wound carved across it.
"Prepare to die! Face judgment under the Lady's Radiance!" Surya advanced, her agile footwork reminiscent of a beautiful dancer's ballet, but the whole scene was forged in blood. She swiftly murdered several attacking Clan Rats, then dashed in front of the Rat Giant, gripping the sword hilt tight, and slashed down furiously.
"Wu-ah!" The Rat Giant swung its left arm, intending to attack Surya's head directly!
"Clang~"
The Lady Knight finished her slash, she retracted her sword in a practiced motion, silently chanting her father's teachings in swordsmanship, gathering enough strength before striking again.
The sudden burst of blood light saw the Leonais Sword almost sever the Rat Giant's left arm. The Rat Giant immediately realized its left arm was crippled, attempting to lift its right arm for a counterattack when Surya's sword had already pierced through its right leg.
The divine golden aura surrounding the Lady Knight was too powerful for the Rat Giant to look at directly. After being wounded in the right leg, the giant beast fell down, opening its mouth to emit "squeak squeak" sounds.
Surya didn't care to listen to what it wanted to say. The Lady Knight steadied her stance, chanting the Lake Fairy's Holy Song, raising her sword high and bringing it down, beheading the giant, monstrous rat.
The headless Rat Giant's corpse crumbled heavily, catching the attention of the rat swarm, or at least the commanding rats among them. One such commander was a Plague Priest holding a Plague Incense Burner. It swung the burner, releasing a nauseating stench of disease, further spread by its eerie spells. Worse still, the palpable evil emanating from its breath corroded everything it touched.
"yesyes! Golden-haired thing! Killkill!" It pointed at Surya's figure, sending several lowly Plague Monks rushing towards her on its command.
The Lady Knight remained unfazed, the Leonais Sword swinging up and down, slicing several Plague Monks without staining herself with their blood.
Despite losing several competent subordinates, the Plague Priest achieved its goal, directly casting its spell on Surya.
Plague Breath!
A thick poisonous mist surged towards Surya, who was defending Veronica, enveloping her body in an instant.
"kill! kill!" The Plague Priest, covered in festering sores and ulcers, took advantage of this opportunity to approach Surya, swinging the Plague Incense Burner.
However, the poisonous mist didn't affect Surya's actions at all; rather the attack seemed to activate something within the Lady Knight's armor.
The golden light containing Supreme Power illuminated Surya's surroundings, instantly dispelling the toxic mist. The golden scriptures on the armor seemed to come to life, radiating brilliantly. As the Plague Priest was touched by this golden light, the smell of scorching emanated from it.
This terrifying transformation baffled the Plague Priest, but it no longer had time to comprehend it. Upon exposure to the golden light, the Skaven Demon Rat evaporated on the spot, rising into the air as a wisp of smoke, leaving not even ashes.
This situation horrified the surrounding rat swarm, causing a massive hit to their morale almost simultaneously. Storm Rats and Clan Rats frantically ordered the Slave Rats into battle while harboring thoughts of escape themselves.
"Light of Exile!" Three pure rays of Light of Wind swept across the battlefield. In the dense formation of Ratmen, at least over six hundred Ratmen were sucked into the Magic Vortex by the Wind of Light power, turning to ashes. Veronica gritted her teeth, barely standing as Jialan Witch fully controlled the magic, feeling empty within.
The witch understood it wasn't time to fret about the loss of Magic Power. She exerted every effort to manipulate the spell, with Veronica singlehandedly controlling three Magic Vortexes, each covering a direction of attacking Ratmen!
