Urban Undying Lord
Chapter 1682 - 1701: Where Did Master Go?
The great river surged, a gentle breeze brushed against the face.
Ye Fengtian curiously fiddled with the small cauldron, but found nothing unusual about it.
No matter if he tried to activate his cultivation or melt it with true fire, this ancient and simple small cauldron showed no change, its sturdiness beyond his imagination.
"What kind of strange object is this?" Ye Fengtian murmured in amazement.
What a pity.
This small cauldron, though ancient and unadorned, had no mysterious qualities other than its extreme sturdiness, leading Ye Fengtian to abandon further exploration.
However, having come across such a curious artifact, Ye Fengtian naturally wouldn’t discard it but instead tucked it into his bosom to continue on his journey.
"Hey, I finally found you."
Suddenly!
A spirited voice rang out, and a girl in a red dress appeared before Ye Fengtian, with a proud smile on her face.
"It’s you again?"
Ye Fengtian was slightly startled, frowning as he hadn’t expected this girl to be so persistent, having tracked him down all the way here.
The red-dressed girl, named Wan Hongling, though her cultivation wasn’t high, only at the Enlightenment Realm, she was the daughter of the sect hierarch of Xuansha Sect, a great sect in East Earth.
As the daughter of the Sect Hierarch of Xuansha Sect, a major sect in East Earth, Wan Hongling was truly a darling of heaven, and no one dared to provoke her wherever she went.
Yet, Ye Fengtian, who had just arrived in East Earth, had stirred up some enemies when Wan Hongling happened to pass by during his battle with them, which led to their acquaintance.
It’s said that a girl’s heart awakens to love; although Wan Hongling had been cultivating for quite some time, she still had a youthful, girlish nature.
While Ye Fengtian may not have been particularly handsome, he had a certain masculinity that intrigued Wan Hongling, arousing her curiosity to understand him more.
When a woman becomes curious about a man, that’s often the beginning of love, though Wan Hongling was yet oblivious.
However, Ye Fengtian had no interest in Wan Hongling; his sole desire was to find his master, and he naturally had no wish to engage with such a headstrong and capricious girl.
"Hey, you’re not happy to see me?"
Seeing Ye Fengtian’s frowning face, Wan Hongling pouted angrily.
"I’ve already told you, we are strangers, and I don’t wish to have any interaction with you. Why do you insist on following me?" Ye Fengtian said coldly.
"Hmph."
Wan Hongling retorted, "There’s a wide road ahead, and we can walk our separate ways. Why say I’m following you? Even if I am, it shows that I think you’re worth it. You should feel honored."
"I don’t need your regard. Please, leave quickly." Ye Fengtian frowned.
"Hehe, I’m not going. Come kill me if you can." Wan Hongling, barefoot, sat on a tree branch, her feet dangling as she teasingly taunted Ye Fengtian with a giggle.
"If you won’t leave, I will."
Ye Fengtian rose and left, transforming into a beam of light that vanished, leaving Wan Hongling anxious.
"Hey, hey, you jerk, wait for me."
Whoosh!
Wan Hongling summoned a cloud of colorful mist, quickly chasing after Ye Fengtian, evidently fearing he’d truly abandon her.
...
"Hey, weren’t you looking for your master? What’s your master’s name? Maybe I know him?"
The vast heavens, the boundless sky.
Ye Fengtian traversed the sky, while Wan Hongling pouted, trailing behind him.
Buzz!
Ye Fengtian halted, turning back to look at Wan Hongling, his face showing a serious expression for the first time.
"My master’s name is Ye Xuan. Do you know him?" Ye Fengtian asked.
"Ye Xuan?"
Wan Hongling blinked, then shook her head, "I haven’t heard of any great cultivator named Ye Xuan in the Eastern Domain."
"Which great sect is your master affiliated with? Or is he an elder of some faction?" Wan Hongling inquired.
"I don’t know."
Ye Fengtian shook his head helplessly, "I only know my master’s name and nothing else. When I was young, we only spent a few days together, and all I have is his name."
"Hey, are you crazy? You only spent a few days with him, yet you call him your master and you’ve been searching for him so fervently. Isn’t there a risk he’s a fraud?" Wan Hongling mocked immediately.
"Shut up, you’re not allowed to slander him."
Boom!
Ye Fengtian was enraged, a terrifying aura emanating from him because Ye Xuan was the closest person to him. Without Ye Xuan, he might have died of old age in the mortal world, and could never have achieved the cultivation he had today.
"Okay, okay, don’t be mad. I was just joking with you."
Wan Hongling’s face changed slightly, not expecting Ye Fengtian to get angry. It was clear that the master he spoke of was his reverse scale, not to be touched lightly.
"Just this once, never again. If you slander my guiding master again, don’t blame me for being ruthless," Ye Fengtian said coldly.
"Alright, don’t be angry. I realize my mistake," Wan Hongling pouted, apologizing to Ye Fengtian, looking pitiful.
Seeing Ye Fengtian’s expression soften, Wan Hongling frowned and said, "But searching for your master like this is really difficult. The Eastern Domain alone has billions of creatures, not to mention the other four domains, and heavens know how many people named Ye Xuan. Where can you even begin to find him?"
"My master is by no means an obscure person. If I can’t find him in the Eastern Domain, I’ll search the other four domains. There will come a day when I find him," Ye Fengtian declared firmly.
"Hmph, you’re really a stubborn big blockhead." Wan Hongling muttered quietly.
"Although I don’t know your master, maybe my father does. He’s the hierarch of Xuansha. If he is willing to help you, I’m sure you can find your master quickly." Wan Hongling’s eyes gleamed as she spoke.
"This...?"
Ye Fengtian appeared thoughtful. He wasn’t a newbie in the Chaos Great World, having faced numerous dangers along the way.
He knew well that the sect hierarch of Xuansha was a formidable figure, a sect hierarch of a great sect in the East Earth.
If he were to assist, indeed the chances of finding his mentor would be significantly higher.
Perhaps!
Perhaps the Xuansha Sect Hierarch knew his mentor?
"Gosh, searching by yourself, who knows when you’ll find him? Come back to Xuansha Sect with me. My father will certainly help you find your master."
Wan Hongling said this, pulling Ye Fengtian along without any sense of restraint, a delighted expression on her face as she clung to Ye Fengtian determinedly.
Ye Fengtian could only let Wan Hongling drag him along, feeling somewhat tempted himself, as searching for his mentor on his own was indeed extremely challenging.
...
Meanwhile, in the Central Earth Domain.
A world-shrouding killing array silently blended into the heavens. Once Ye Xuan had completed setting up this array, he nodded in satisfaction.
Little did he know, the disciple he had taken in the Primordial World years ago was desperately searching for him in the Eastern Domain and had even come across a Void-breaking Heavenly Cauldron.
